I recycle because I like having a little cash. But if trying to get cash can take a lot of your time, it might not be worth it. Hence the 3 star review for Rhino Recycling Center. If you don't get here 30 mins before they open, you might be at the back of a long recyling line. Last time I was here I think I was the 3rd person in line and it took a good 20 mins before it was my turn. The people in front of me had at least 5 plus recycling containers each, and with one person weighing stuff, you can imagine how long it took. I just feel bad for the people behind me because by the time i left, the line was at least 10 people long and each with multiple bags to recycle. The only positive thing I like about Rhine Recycling Center is that they are open on Sundays. I appreciate that very much as most recycling places are closed on the weekends. So would I come here again? Yea I would, but I just gotta make sure I get here early....and make sure you do too! read more

Decided to go back one more time today just in case it was an off day last time. Nope! We had 30.4lbs of cans and got paid for only 17.5lbs. They toss the baskets as soon as they are weighed so no chance to fight it at all. It seems like this is a recurring issue based off other reviews. Open daily from 9am - 5pm, Rhino is one of the few locations in Oxnard that IS open Sunday and Monday, AND has equipment that's operational. Attempting to recycle on a Sunday turned out to be more of a chore than it should have been. RePlanet by Albertson's on Ventura Rd. and on Victoria Ave. by Ralph's in Ventura are closed Sunday. Rodriguez Recycling on Vineyard Ave. is open Sunday from 9am - 3pm, but was closing shop by 245pm when we showed up...what the?!? RePlanet on Esplanade Dr. is open Sunday from 9am - 430pm but their weigh scale was broken so we couldn't return the many big beverage containers we had. No one by one machines to contend with here. All you need to do is dump them into the provided wired bins, keeping like materials together. Customer service guys are friendly and helpful here. They take your offering, weigh whatcha got, and then you get paid on the spot! Don't have to go to the local supermarket to turn in a receipt. Not required to get gift certificates. Just dollar bills y'all for helping the environment! Their location is off N. Rose Ave. in the Sam's Club parking lot, close to McDonald's and Chili's. read more

First of all their hours are posted until 5:00 p.m. right on the side of the building but they say they are closing at 4:30 and that you cannot turn anything in at that point! They just want to get their asses home! And if you don't watch carefully you will get ripped off! If you have a a lot of recycles like we did (a whole trunk load) it can be a bit challenging to bring your recycles here. They now require you to wait in line with all your recycles which is nearly impossible if you have a lot. So, what we did was get buckets to put the recycles in and then got in line with all of our buckets. There are always two guys, one weighing and paying you and one that is assisting him. When the guy who assist is available he helps sometimes (when he does help we always tip him). They are not very friendly but they're not mean either. They're just busy and im sure they're tired (they do a lot of heavy lifting). make sure you're organized with your recycles and not scared of getting a little sticky when sorting them hahaha. read more

I've been a customer for about 5 years now and just recently this year the main manager who works in front has been sexually harassing me touching me lifting up my skirt grabbing at me and my boyfriend is very furious with this guy also recently I just left my hello Kitty lunch box that had my driver's license and other things in it and I had left it because I was selling some earphones to one of his workers and he was trying to grab on me so I totally forgot that I had set on the ground but it was in in their inner part of the business where customers don't go,and I came back to get it and they said they had thrown it away or whatever and I was like why would you do that to a customer who has been here for 5 years and you're going to throw her stuff instead of putting it in Lost and found I was very upset they would not give me their corporate number this is not the first time they have taken something from me and had caught his worker . Arrived there and the immediately came up and helped you unload and sort your bottles and cans, but they weren't the friendliest. They would talk to you and they only spoke in Spanish to each other. I don't think they realized that I could speak Spanish as well so I over heard them saying not saying the kindest of things. They also are stealing some of your hard earned money because the weight on the scale is wrong. Make sure you ask them to zero it out before you start. I rarely ever post this is actually my first post ever on a business but I was very upset , when I came here to recycle . There is a short guy who wears a hat , and says he is the owner when I know it's not true . He said his name is Manuel , but he rips you off from your money . I got ripped off here bringing in my cans , and when I tried to confront him about what he did , he basically said he can't do anything about it . Do not come here , I read other comments and it's happened to other people as well . I tried to speak to a manager above him and i was unsuccessful, I will never be coming back here to do business with them. I felt so uncomfortable being a female having to confront this man who wanted to take advantage that I wasn't going to know any different but I did and spoke up . I am so furious I called the cops but they couldn't do anything about , so I wrote a review to let others know . I will never recommend this place. This place is sucks. We sell our cans, plastics and bottles here all the time because this is the close one in our place. But they are cheating on the weight they only give you half of what you have. We have 41 lbs of cans but they only put on the receipt 20 lbs. We have 62 lbs of plastic on the receipt only 33 lbs. I asked the guy and he said that all he got. But I was watching the weigh. Anyway, it happens all the time and he always change it but this time he did not change because we have a lot they don't want to pay us. Just be careful and watch the weight on the receipt. My dad works hard to get all that cans and bottles but for them they just take it from you. Anyway, God Bless them. Karma is a bitch. read more

The first time I went to this facility I brought four large bags of mixed glass aluminum and plastic that I had saved and I only got twenty dollars. So I thought I would let them build up a bit before the next trip to make it more worth while. I saved up 12 large bags of the exact same mix and thought I would get approximately 60$ give or take but only received 35$. I honestly believe the worker there is pocketing and skimming money.
