Easily the worst dry cleaner I've ever dealt with and I've been getting suits cleaned for over 20 years. The place is filthy from the moment you walk up. The entrance is covered in bird droppings and inside is just as bad. It's dirty, cluttered, and feels completely neglected. They also have very old Halloween decorations up year round, which just adds to the run down, unprofessional atmosphere. The staff is rude and dismissive, which only makes the experience worse. The biggest issue is they moved the button on my $700 suit jacket without permission. That's not a minor mistake, that's careless and unacceptable. This place is an embarrassment to Ventura. I'm reluctant to review this longtime neighborhood staple, given the time it's been serving the community, and I know people don't gets things dry cleaned the way they used to, so business is just a trickle of what it was, but I feel people need to be warned. I'm not sure if they can't afford different cleaning solutions, apathetic, have inexperienced new management or what, but they charged me $35 to ruin the cotton beach bag I gave them to clean. And they didn't clean it either. I had washed it at home in the machine trying to get some dark stains out, but they wouldn't budge. I noticed some color loss, but didn't mind the bleached out look for a beach bag. I told them all this and if color loss happened for them to get the spots out, that would be okay. Also, when I washed it, I was careful both times to hang it in such a way that the material covered cardboard insert that flipped up or down on the inside bottom dried flat and kept its shape. I told the girl the insert seemed to be made of thick cardboard and asked if they would make sure keep it flat when drying, but trailed off when she didn't say anything, making me feel like I was telling the pros how to do their job, and never got any acknowledgement or response. She couldn't find the price for them to clean a purse or bag or anything to even give me a ballpark figure, so when I tried to pick it up the first time I was surprised to be handed the bag and told it would be $35 and that was it, nothing else said like 'oh by the way, we couldn't clean it.' I paid assuming they had cleaned the bag or I wouldn't be getting charged and so much, but when I looked to see what good work they had done, expecting to be happy, there were rubbed out spots where they tried to get out the spots, but they remained, places where they seemed to not try at all, and one spot where the material was rubbed white (bag was dark pink w green frogs), as if that's what it took for them to remove a spot. I reiterated that I didn't mind if the color was rubbed out a bit in spots if that is what it took to remove the light black spots around the bottom of the bag, and asked for a redo. The second time I picked it up it looked like they put it in a washing machine and that was it. The color was worn overall, the spots remained, and the cardboard insert was mangled inside its material casing. I washed the bag myself twice at home in a washing machine and couldn't get the spots out, but managed to keep the insert flat and unaffected. They are supposed to be professionals, but not only couldn't get the spots outs, with or without rubbing them white, they sent me home with a bag that was more worn overall and, worse, something they could have easily avoided, a thickened, clumped up, twisted cardboard insert that I'm stuck with because it's permanently sewn into the material covering. No apology, no shame, no money back, the guy said something about taking it home and ME rubbing the spots some more. All I could do was say, 'I am not happy,' and leave. I've seen a dry cleaner come in and get ink out of colored carpet, so I think given the knowledge and correct solutions, it might have been possible to clean my bag, or not, but there's no excuse for destroying the cardboard insert. I brought six long cream Pottery Barn drape panels to Dryclean Safari. One of them had a large water stain on it. I had never drycleaned them before. I picked them up today. They are perfect! Look like new. And somehow they got the water stain out! I have always thought this drycleaner has such a nice helpful staff. I hadn't been to Dryclean Safari since the 2020 pre covid-19 at that time the prices were reasonable. I recently got a TrenchCoat cleaned there & it ran me $31.70! . I asked why the price increase, he said maybe it's "weight" of the jacket. As I was about to pay he says "$27.00", he gave me a discount which made me feel valued as a customer. We have patronized this business for years. We dropped off our clothing which included a $200+ white Vince ladies shirt. It was not dirty, but had been worn several times. When we picked it up it had an orange spot on the front of the garment. We pointed it out to them, and it took two more cleanings before it was removed. Not great for the fabric. And the spot is still partially visible. When we asked that it be replaced, with showing them the receipt and site where it was purchased, they refused. They put the spot on it! Something doesn't add up. Perhaps they aren't using clean fluid. They also put someone else's skirt in with our cleaning! So we won't be back. read more

Do not go here. The staff are friendly, but the business is totally unwilling to accept responsibility for mistakes. I brought in my down comforter for dry cleaning about 3-4 months ago, and it came back with a large tear so I took it back immediately and they repaired it. I thought that was good on them for owning it and would continue using their service. Took my comforter in again and picked up yesterday, just to find 3 new tears in it. This review is of the location on Johnson Dr. in Ventura. The people are friendly and I even saw the owner I think who was really helpful as well. They are the only ones open on Saturday. So... I went in on Saturday last week to get an expensive suit altered and was promised that I'll have it back by Friday so I can wear it Saturday. Friday I go to pick up my suit and they don't have it, it's not there and they said they may have it for me Monday because whoever does the alterations is off until then. They don't have the suit on premise so I can't take it to another place to get altered before tomorrow. Very disappointed. However, I got my suit back on Monday and it all looked well, I was satisfied with the work, so I decided to dry clean and press my dress shirt there. However, the second time all my dress shirts have small wrinkles ironed into the wrist cuffs, I'm not sure why it's so inconsistent here. They did not do it correctly. Okay, so mistakes happen- I understand that , but we had to scramble to make the pants shorter by going to a cbs store , etc. We had no time to complain. We were so busy after that , and when we finally were able to come to tel them what had happened. Instead of them correcting the mistake without us paying again. When I dropped them off I got a receipt for pick up that said it would be $170 which I thought was pricey but due to the time crunch I decided to leave them. When I picked them up I was charged $199. I was told that the 3" piece of fabric that was added to one of the dresses was hard to find. Don't do business with these guys. They might be fine when all goes well, as many other reviews indicate, but when there is a problem, that is when you really find out how much they value their customers. These guys will try to cut every corner they can to keep from fairly solving the problem. And they will indirectly call you a liar while they are at it. I took my work clothes to an Albertsons store that then sends them to Dryclean Safari. All of my clothes were lost, eight shirts and pants. Five days later, a guy named Derek calls me from Dryclean Safari. He tells me I need to wait about a month before they will compensate me. I told him that I couldn't wait that long because they lost all of my clothes, and he told me "I doubt that was all of your clothes." (He thinks I have more than 8 work shirts!?!) I told him I had to spend about $50 for a couple of new shirts so I could go to work, and he told me that I was spending too much on shirts. Two weeks later, a lady named Teresa called me to tell me they wanted to settle this situation and asked me to value the shirts. I gave her a very fair number ($25 per shirt), and then she started trying to talk me down. She said she would speak with the owner and get back to me that afternoon. She never called back. Finally, Albertsons compensated me for the shirts, since even they could not get anywhere with them. Dryclean Safari just ignored the problem. This cost me so much time and inconvenience. We've been using Safari for years, but yesterday they went above and beyond for me! We had just purchased new uniforms and washed them at home to soften them up before I was going to bring them in to be pressed. Well to my horror, something bleed all over the new uniforms while in my washer! I called Derrick in a panic and without hesitation he told me to bring them in. Luckily I hadn't dried them so they were able to get all of the color removed! Not only that he did it all the same day, since I needed them for work right away! This place is tiny up front, typically loud, and almost always hot when you walk in. I wish the woman up front smiled a little more often, but she's always pretty distant and business like. That said, I've never had a problem with their service. In fact, clothes always come back how they're supposed to. We took in several items, one was dry cleaned with them before and came back perfect, but this time, I got home, after paying, and it was still dirty. It was just a little dirt, no stains. And it smelled. She said they would try it again. I got a call and she said they dry cleaned it two more times and could not get it clean. She suggested washing it. I came back to get it. They didn't refund me. They kept my money after giving it back to me still dirty, not saying anything, then after knowing they couldn't get it clean, charging me anyway. I don't agree with this practice. If your business is cleaning something, and you can't get it clean, you shouldn't charge the customer and also give them a dirty item back without telling them. I went online to find prices and it shows $10.25 for a two piece suit. I purposely drove out of my way to take my suit there. As I was getting something out of my purse, the print out I had made with the price circled fell out on the counter and she said "Oh, that's not for lined suits. Lined suits are $13.50? Are you kidding me? If you have a different price for lined suits, since MOST suits ARE lined, you should list it. I left with my suit. I will not go back ever. I had 5 fancy silk tops cleaned there and they poked holes in each and every one at the neckline right in the front!!!! to place their tag with 2 big fat plastic spokes - couldn't find a seam or safer place? STAY AWAY !! We recently moved to Ventura, while looking around for dry cleaners we found this place and of course their new customer coupon to get 50% of all your dry cleanings was attractive. I always get my office dress shirts dry cleaned from other place and they do excellent job in dry cleaning them, my shirts shine like new. This time I decided to go to these guys since they are in Ventura, and guess what the lady says why do you waste your money in getting shirts dry cleaned, these will appear excellent after laundry. In spite of me asking for dry cleaned she took my order to laundry all my shirts. MY BIGGEST MISTAKE OF TRUSTING THEM. All my dress shirts have lost their shine, and possibly I need to get new ones. And my pants which they took for dry cleaning, it seems they have laundered those as well.,SUCH PATHETIC service. Never again. My mistake that coupon of 50% brought me there, I should have realized that before heading to them. Cheap place = cheap services. !! Never Again. STAY AWAY FROM THEM AND THEIR COUPON TRICK. read more
