The people behind the register are always nice and willing to help. Now the trade in counter service is rough, it's just not with people you'd want to be talking with or they just seem to be bothered by their job or just by speaking to people. Again, the counter service and employees are great. I just wish the second half was just as good.

Great selection of games and items to purchase, and I love that you can order food to eat while you play! What I love the most is how Gamers Guild has truly managed to create a "third space" for the community and allows you to come in, hang out, and play games without a requirement to pay anything. For a long time, everything seemed great, but over time the staff's attitude toward me seemed to shift -- like they'd slowly grown to resent me coming in. That really showed on a recent visit when I tried to return a can of paint I had bought the day before, after realizing I already had that color. The store manager looked at me like a disapproving parent, sighed, and told me I "return too many items." She didn't say I was breaking any store policy -- only that it was inconvenient for them. I've made returns before, always with a receipt and always following their clearly posted return policy. For how much I've supported the store, it honestly offended me to be spoken to that way. It felt condescending and uncomfortable in a place I used to really enjoy. I did get my refund as a gift card, and I went back today knowing it would probably be my last visit. I picked up a board game and set it down on a table while I looked up what sleeves I'd need. An employee came over, took the game without a word, and put it back on the shelf. I said, "Oh, I was going to get that," and he just said "oh" and walked away. When I went to check out, that same employee -- who knew my name -- had a rude attitude the entire time. After I asked for my receipt, he looked at me and said, "Mind the return policy this time." That sealed it for me. I won't be going back to this store, even though I still have reward points left from all my past purchases. It just doesn't feel like a welcoming or safe space anymore. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a hobby store, and that's really disappointing after years of being a loyal customer.

I've been to a lot of card and game stores but this one is the best by far. It is enormous, there…read moreis so much room for games and events. That being said, it is usually very packed with players. The staff is very cool and generous. I called ahead recently to make sure there was room for my group, and was told yes. When we got there, there was literally not a single chair free. Instead of turning us away, the staff gave us permission to use a private event room for free. I would give these folks my money before ever going to a big box store for games. Prices can be seen online and they are competitive with Amazon and other big stores, so why not support local?
