I've spent thousands at this store over the last year and generally accepted that some prices run a bit high because stores need to make money. Recently I found a Charizard card marked at $11 that appeared significantly undervalued compared to market price, even considering the minor print lines. When I went to purchase it, the employee took the card to the back for several minutes and then returned saying the owner had already sold it online. They weren't able to show the sold listing or provide any verification. Maybe it truly had sold elsewhere already, but the situation felt poorly handled and honestly damaged my trust as a longtime customer. Inventory mistakes happen, but transparency matters. read more

I honestly don't understand how this card shop has the reputation it does. My experience was terrible from beginning to end. When I visited the store, I was met with an attitude that made it seem like customers were more of a burden than the reason the business exists. There was no effort to be helpful, no interest in answering questions, and absolutely no sense of appreciation for people walking through the door. The inventory was decent, but the prices were completely out of touch with reality. Card after card was marked well above recent sales and market comps. Every shop has the right to set its own prices, but there comes a point where it feels like customers are being taken advantage of. If you're an informed collector who follows the market, the pricing here is difficult to take seriously. The final straw was a phone conversation I had with the owner. I called expecting a professional discussion and instead was met with rudeness and a condescending attitude. Rather than addressing my concerns respectfully, the owner seemed irritated by simple questions and spoke in a way that made it clear customer satisfaction was not a priority. The trading card hobby is built on trust, relationships, and community. Unfortunately, I found none of those things here. What I did find was overpriced inventory, poor customer service, and an owner who left a lasting negative impression. There are too many great card shops out there to waste time and money at one that treats customers this way. I won't be returning, and I certainly won't be recommending this shop to fellow collectors. I do like this store, I want to like it more. Recently ordered a couple single cards off their website for in-store pickup. The images of the cards on the website looked really great in regard to the centering and corners, and they were two cards for my personal collection, so I was stoked. Made the order and went in to get them, immediately checked the cards and it was 100% obvious that these cards were not in the same condition that was pictured on their website. The Charizard VStar promo I got is on its way to being an error card in regard to the centering. And the Lost Origin Gengar had really rough back corners/whitening. In a hobby where the price is effected so much by the condition of a card, you would hope shops aren't falsely advertising raw LP/MP/HP or horribly centered cards as NM. I should've said something before leaving, but again it's for my personal collection and I really just wanted the cards. I'll upgrade to better condition ones in the future I'm sure, but overall very disappointing experience. (Also, 90% of the pokemon singles on their site are marked up higher than market, which I was fine with cause stores have to make profit and I wanted the cards). But in this case, I now feel overcharged and that I overpaid for cards that wouldn't even be NM priced at other card shops. Good luck out there! At least DNA got a W haha. read more

I had a stack out 10 cards that I was interested in. I bought 6 out of these 8 cards RAW from the DNA shop. The owner took his time to tell me which ones he would think would get a GEM when graded and which ones might not. All 6 GEMed for me. Couldn't be happier. I have bought raw cards from other shops. This place understands customer service and I couldn't be happier. Only card shop in town you should buy RAW cards at. The value is always at market and if you buy 5 or more you get a great deal usually. So happy. read more

Do not go here. They prey on families with children. These parents may not have knowledge of PSA sites where you can look up how much a Pokémon card costs market price and how much they are upcharging for cards at their store. They are rude and the young kid that works here thinks he's God's gift to the world. They lady was rude too. Steer clear! read more

I first emailed asking if there were any particular baseball trading cards from the 2 years i mentioned as I have those cards in Arizona. I received a reply email in which certain players were mentioned and if I were to have any of those I could have something with the right quality and over $50 in value a deal could occur. My cards have all been in sleeves and cases so they are all of high quality. I made it a point to call to see if the head buyer was available and i was told to go to the 32nd street and Shea store. I arrived and the owner and i made contact. He directed me to a table and said he would be with me shortly. I saw multiple cards in his cases that were the same players i currently have and the prices were in the multiple hundreds of dollars. So i have many of the cards that are way over the $50 minimum value. Now I researched the few shops in town and I was convinced that the good feeling of a community place where i can feel comfortable in making a secure and private sale. I waited a few minutes and a 20 year old kid comes over and was nice and began his review of my cards. At first he was attentive to his job of paying attention to the cards he was reviewing. As he progressed he only looked at half of my cards while he began to tell me I dont have anything over $50 in value. I told him to keep looking as I am certain I brought the cards I was emailed about. The thing that really left me upset was as he never actually looked at all my cards. The inexperienced salesman told me he was new to the job and doesnt really know which cards have such values. I have a huge collection and took the time to ask, email, find, travel, meet and get pushed off telling me I dont have anything they want. I call bullshit! I own a card trading company and I was played like a punk. I spent over $100,000 last year alone on trading cards. Lesson for everyone. Don't lie to me about the value of my cards. Honestly, I watched the intro video about the store and my experience was NOT at all what should have happened. I also brought in very old Nolan Ryan cards as the owner claims he really liked Nolan Ryan. I don't need the money as I just wanted to find a local shop to do my trading and buying. The whole experience made me sick that I was treated like some homeless bum and brushed off. I have connections in ALL three shows. NBA, NFL and MLB. What should have happened was that the owner handled his business rather than have some child tell me what I have is NOT of value over $50. I guess if I were to bring in my Pokeman collection they would be drooling but I promise I will never be played like that in life, We all have to communicate and be honest as our word is our bond. Sorry we missed a beautiful opportunity but I will not be pushed off from some child who barley knows he stuff. Very much disappointed. read more

I am from the Netherlands and was visiting my family in Phoenix, I used to collect cards as a kid and teenager. so I got back into the game about 6 months ago. i just looked a reliable card shop up on google and this was the spot to be. Very nice people there, very helpful and kind. I got 2 Pokemon paldea fates boxes sealed, a PSA 10 George Pickens rookie card. and like 10 sleeved Steelers cards. Even though the deal was $1 each and 20 for $10. I just wanted 10 cards and they were still so kind to give me that same deal. DNA has more than redeem themselves with an experience I had with them today. My husband and I spent well over an hour going over SEVERAL binders, cards in cases, and price checking countless cards with the help of the employees. Everyone we encountered was more than generous with their time and was happy to match current pricing on TCG player. My original experience was mainly due to my own ignorance. Prices are not a constant and can fluctuate daily, which is why checking the days prices are so important. What was incredible was numerous staff members helped do that for us in real time and were transparent with the prices they found. I am grateful for their generosity in time, as we definitely stayed after closing. They never made us feel rushed or unwelcome. I hope to come back soon and continue to do business. read more

The duck race is fun fun fun and seasonal updated to Santa as the ducks for the Christmas season! Drop $20 on the poker chip it's great! Clean shop! Lots of small tables to rip packs, check your phone and think out your purchase. Since I bought my first pack of Garage Pails at Woolworth in 85 I'd say this is the best place I ever did buy cards. That includes shops I owned, Royce's sharp Corners, Rich's...honnney, star market Salinas, burbank , the Labor Day show at moscone and the Cleveland national. It would take a plane ticket to Chicago at the end of July to beat this place and actually I would just hang with my friends look at a lot of cards and save my money for when I got home and go to DNA. About 2 years ago I took my binder with my most precious cards that I started collecting since evolving skies to this place. I was in extreme need and these people took advantage of it. My collection included many 60-150$ dollar cards raw ungraded price. Total value about 1500$. Me being a new collector then, I did not know what was what and the guy gave me 300$ for the whole thing. Looking back now I wish I would have known about price charting and stuff like that so predator like these wouldn't have took advantage of me. read more

I was told this place a great place for Pokemon cards but after visiting, they were rude about trading cards. They were very judgmental and rude when trying to trade cards or sell to them. Worker is a smart ass and chooses who he wants to give deals to. Very unfair card place, it's better to get your Pokemon trade deals done elsewhere. As someone who sells and trades Pokemon on a daily basis, this store is not one to go to. I spend 100's on Pokemon weekly and this place could have gotten a good deal from me if the worker would have just been approachable and not rude. read more
