An update to my last review over 4 years ago. Rhino continues to blow me off for over one year since I requested second warranty service in April 2023. Don't waste your money! The wood rots underneath! The product is great. The stripping of old paint is great. The bad part is they pressure wash the wood and start painting the next day. They don't allow the wood to dry before it gets sealed. They should have allowed it to dry for a week. The water is injected into the wood and it stays in the wood, sealed and unable to dry. It then rots from the inside. Sometimes the paint starts to peel, which allows you to see the problem. I have had to replace sills and trim boards, even new ones that were replaced before the paint. I would have been better off painting the house myself. I did contact them about this. They said that the wood must have already been bad. But their crew inspected and replace some trim. read more

Asked for a quote for my home which is mostly brick I realized that. I wanted the wooden areas Rhino Shielded for the protection/wear/guarantee.. I wanted the fachsia, soffits and some other painted wood areas coated but was told Rhino Shield only looks at jobs $7500 and up. Supposed to be 2 to 3 times a paint job, quoted a paint job at $1500. Math here doesn't add up and it seems that Rhino Shield does not like small jobs. so , if I could give a zero star or negative I would. Offered to paint my brick which is blasphemous. They painted the house in late May. Bubbles showed up shortly after apparently because it was too hot and/or humid to apply the paint. We've called and setup 4 separate appointments to have them come out and fix it. Nobody ever showed up or called to say they weren't coming. They said they were waiting for the temps to be right to fix the problem (if they cared that much about the temperature, we wouldn't have had this problem in the first place). I would not give it one star. We had Rhinoshield applied 8/12. Almost immediately it started bubbling and peeling. We contacted the dealer in Pembroke, Ma, sent pictures, and was told it was our fault. Each time I contacted them with a problem, I got the same response. I am giving this one star as being a contractor myself - one should not have to chase on a warranty call For over 8 months as I contacted then in 10/21 about an issue on a paint job that was over 25k. Plenty of time to correct the job and schedule the repair - I am a caretaker for the homeowner who is 99 years old so - in my opinion it's even worse -why ? Common courtesy and if you making her wait , how many others are ? Sadly I think they are taking a different look at the "Lifetime " warranty they offer as I said the owner is 99 and let's say there are not many summers left ..any company that doesn't take of elderly, I have little respect for ... and this review is legitimate as I contacted them 4 times and was told we would be taken care in. The spring ..well Summer started ..... my advice ? Prep house correctly - prime it , paint with either Sherwin williams or Ben moore - have a rep come out and review the house and go from there - hire people who will call back and honestly look for a painter that's small And has been around for a while .. better chance if something goes wrong plus if there's an issue with the paint ? My wife and I own an old home in Attleboro that we added a new garage and in-law apartment to. The oldest section of our home needed painting and we called Rhino Shield and had them just paint that portion of the house. They were able to match our Benjamin Moore Federal Blue color perfectly! The following summer we had them do the next section and just this past month they did the new addition which is now 6 years old. Everything looks fantastic. You wouldn't know which section was painted first in 2016 and which section was just painted in May of 2018. They also did a great job doing repairs on the old section of the house fixing clapboards prior to painting. The speed in which they do their work is incredible too. If it wasn't for our terrible weather in May they would have been done in three days. They still managed to get it done within 10 days. Rhino Shield - Painters Near Me - Pembroke, Massachusetts

We had our home painted in August 2016. The job was completed in one day and (we thought) we'd spent over $10,000.00 for a paint job that would last longer than we'd own the home. We recently noted some bubbling beneath one of our windows. My spouse also noted an area behind one of our split systems that had been missed entirely when the house was painted. We contacted Rhino shield for remedy and was told that they'd put us on their service schedule and that they'd be in touch to discuss a "service charge." When I asked about the service charge, I was told that there's a $450.00 per-visit charge when the works was done more than 12 months ago. Neither me nor my spouse remember this caveat when working with the company or in reviewing their documentation. This is a total rip-off. $450.00 to essentially visit to do a "touch-up?" I canceled the request and will paint the defects myself with some matching paint we purchased for stairs, etc. Stay away - the company's advertising is totally deceptive. High pressure sales tactics don't respect the consumer. Expect $3-5k off if you "sign today". Quotes aren't itemized and handed over on a folded piece of paper like a bad used car dealer. Seriously, give me your price, let me know what it covers and how long you honor the quote so I can determine if this (tens of thousands of dollar) purchase is right for my family. You don't get to dictate that I can't get other offers by putting arbitrary 24 hour deadlines on price. In June 2009 my wife and I hired Rhinoshield to paint our home in Somerville. After investigating various painting websites, researching their product, and getting numerous quotes from other contractors, we chose to go with RhinoShield. Their quote was 30% higher than other contractors, but their lifetime warranty was the deciding factor. It was a leap of faith, but we couldn't have been happier. The house came out fantastic and we've received many compliments for the work they did. The crew chief, Marcello, and his team were professional, clean, prompt, and very very respectful to our neighbors. Last summer we had some bubbling paint, which they came out to repair within a few days of our calling. We have been so impressed with Rhinoshield that we hired them again (June 2011). They just completed painting a garage/barn on our property that came out even more amazing. Rhino Shield has done a great job with all aspects of my full exterior house painting. The estimator arrived as scheduled last fall. The communication with the office was consistent and timely since then. My job was scheduled on June 4th many weeks ago, but actually started on Sunday (they called to make sure Sunday was ok) June 3rd. They were able to completely sand off stain that was in bad shape off of every inch of a multistory home, repair a few rotted boards, primed everything, and painted the full body and trim (two colors) in 4-1/2 days. The crew worked long hours, worked hard, and the results were great. Some of the guys had been working with Rhino Shield for many years, and obviously knew what they were doing. Additional questions and final touches were handled by the office and crew immediately and correctly. In my experience, finding a contractor that does great work, communicates quickly and accurately, arrives on schedule, and completes the job so quickly is hard to find, but Rhino Shield has exceeded those expectations. As I checked out the leftover paint, the product is definitely different than regular paint, as advertised . It's thicker by far (and amazing that it can be sprayed). Less than 3 months ago I had my house done and it is bubbling already. Pat the owner took the warranty off the table after the workers had already stripped one side of my house due to moisture. I have an antique home and they did the moisture reading on a rainy day when it had been raining for almost a week. They stated the issues were with the main part of the house which I understood and accepted their discount. I have a fairly new two car garage that did not read moisture issues and that is where the bubbling is happening. If I had hired just a regular painter I am sure they would address the issues but Pat just states that he offered for me to cancel the job. I paid over $10K for the paint to last less than 3 months. I would highly recommend not wasting your money. Read ALL the reviews . They take the lifetime warranty off alot of people. This company and product is a scam.. The people you talk to on the phone are very rude also. Not very good customer service skills. read more

My limited experience with this company was not a good one. I purchased a home that was painted with RhinoShield. The paint is peeling in several places already. This company claims that the paint will last longer, but it really doesn't. I will have to paint my new house even though it was painted less than 10 years ago....So much money for less than 10 years...Doesn't seem worth it to me. read more

I have been trying to get in touch with ANYONE from Rhino Shield for months because of their supposed "lifetime warranty." Rhino Shield painted my home in Fall, 2007. Candidly, they were great to deal with and the house looked great when they were done. The salesman was a true gentleman and the crew was professional. A quality job was done. By 2012, the paint began to fade badly and became streaky on all sides of our home. I filed a warranty claim under their "Lifetime Warranty" in 2013 and they honored it by repainting my home. It took a while for them to fit me into the schedule, but I was satisfied with the work again. By the end of 2016, the same fading/streaking happened again. I filed another claim in early 2017. In May, I received an e-mail indicating they were a month or so behind on jobs due to the spring rains. I inquired in early September to see where we were on the schedule, only to be told there was a "communication issue" and that my claim had been denied. The service manager, John MacNeil informed me that the issue with my past was from "rusting shutter screws" and "water runoff from window flashing." When I pointed out that I have plastic pins holding my shutters on and there is no exposed window flashing (it's installed UNDER the siding), he admitted that "we've already repainted your house and it didn't resolve the issue" and were therefore denying my warranty claim. I don't understand how a product with a Lifetime Warranty can only be covered for 1 failure during my lifetime. When I hired Rhino Shield to paint my home in 2007, it costs 3x what other painters quoted for a regular paint job. Here I sit with a very unattractive looking house and a useless "Lifetime Warranty." Buyer beware. read more

Beware. Great sales pitch but the product doesn't last. The main office doesn't communicate with the team that actually does the work. We told Rhino Shield NE they could paint any week they wanted except one when we were having guests...of course that was the week they painted. Our lovely blue-gray paint turned purple, not just one color of purple, but lots of shades of purples. So Rhino Shield came out and repainted under their warranty. Our blue-gray once again turned purple, although not quite as badly as before. RS came back and tried another formulation and left it over the winter. That formulation seems better and so they painted a third time. This color over several years has faded to gray and the difference between the original color and the current was highlighted when we had to have some rotten wood replaced (yes, the wood behind Rhino Shield paint can rot) and was repainted with some of the extra RS paint we had left. Another request to RS to reformulate again was met with a rude return email telling us that fading is not covered and that the previous repainting was a courtesy, not under warranty as previously said. The email also said any repair work that we did to our house had to be done by them at their rates when they could schedule it in order for it be covered by their warranty. The work we had done included important structural framing and could not wait for whenever RS might decide they were available. I've stayed silent about the bad experience I've had so far because it seemed like RS was trying to make it right but now it's clear they are done trying to help us and instead are just trying to force us to use them for all future house repair work. read more

From the owner who sold us the concept to the foreman who stopped by to introduce himself and then again to check our satisfaction, to the men who did the actual work, I can't say enough. They were thorough, neat, polite and totally professional. The resulting paint job exceeded our expectations. The house LOOKS fabulous, I give them credit for that, but after 6 weeks it was cracked and peeling and after a year, even worse. The places they "patched/repaired the wood have rotted out completely. For something so expensive, I did not expect to have to repaint so soon, AND I expected them to stick by their product/.
