For another, the RI Blood Center seems to be affiliated with CT now, and they have stepped up the donor recognition since the merger. All Season donors (those of us who give once a season) can register for an annual gift. While I appreciate the recognition (and the way to casually advertise blood donation in the wind), I give regularly because it's the easiest possible way to save up to 3 lives with each donation. It's the best way I know to give back. Try it!

The receptionist is friendly and efficient, and the waiting area is comfortable with cushioned chairs and a tv. There are usually snacks and water bottles on the check in counter. All of the staff I've encountered here have been friendly, polite, and very competent. I always make an appointment and have never had to wait all that long after my scheduled time. The donation area is also clean and comfortable, and I've never felt more than a needle prick of pain while donating here, the staff are just awesome at what they do. They take great care to make sure you are comfortable and feeling ok throughout the donation process. The rest area for after you finish donating is really nice as well, and it's stocked with cold drinks, an awesome coffee & hot cocoa machine, and packaged sweet and salty snacks. I always go for the Lorna Doones. Definitely recommend this location - It's my favorite place to give blood and platelets in RI.

This recent experience highlights a concerning lack of professionalism in management…read moredecision-making. Declining a valid and well-intentioned donation based on personal discomfort--described as the situation being "too awkward"--is both inappropriate and unprofessional. Addressing such concerns publicly, particularly in a manner that questions a donor's intentions in front of staff, further undermines the integrity of the organization. In contrast, the floor staff remain the strongest asset of this center. Their dedication and efforts are evident, despite what appears to be minimal support from management. They deserve stronger leadership, clearer guidance, and a more respectful working environment.

He was the ONLY manager that showed every respect and didn't judge the less fortunate that comes in to donate. He was also the ONLY manager that would stick people when it was backed up. The center manager is beyond rude and has a silver spoon in her bum. She sucks when she was on medical leave the place had such a good vibe and friendly atmosphere I believe her name is Jeanne or something like that honestly who cares she down right sucks she decided to rehire Deb who is always also a bish to everyone but aye you made a great choice pats on the back to you Jeanne your the reason all the good staff quit or get fired on bs oh and btw the old processing guy you have smells like alcohol and this isn't the first time do better and maybe people would respect you maybe lines wouldn't be long or maybe even more people would want to come to your center don't come here go to biolife or octapharma they also pay better

They keep asking me to leave a review so here it is. If you get someone good the process is great,…read morebut if you get someone who is inexperienced and pushed through the "training" this is what happens. Once the needle went in I said that didn't feel right. The technician started tapping my arm looking for the needle. He started the machine and walked away. Now there only two possible scenarios and both are not good. One, he knew he skewered my vein and left because he didn't want to deal with it. Or two, he wasn't trained enough to know how to do a "stick" and the higher ups left him to figure it out on his own. Either way the Donor loses. It felt like a ballon was inflating under my skin and was painful. Switched to the other arm to get my blood back and that vein was punctured as well. I was told "it happens. and I can't come back for two months." It happens when you don't have someone trained properly, if at all. And what happens when you let this person do sticks? You get a bunch of us with double hematomas and told we can't come back for months. Which leaves us telling everyone we can what happened and posting the reviews you asked for. You need to fix how you train because this "in house" training where there is no accountability and no actual courses taken on how to stick a vein is not working. You also have people setting up the machines while we are sitting in chairs that are not set up and waiting over 20 minutes. That does not make sense. There are some great people there and I hope they read this line where you know how much I appreciated you and I always tried to let you know. I also want to refer to one of the other reviews that mentioned about a staffer flirting. They are right. It was very obvious. And don't respond with the generic "please contact us for so we can look into this matter further" crap. You NEVER answer the phones. I left multiple messages on the generic mailbox and the nurses mailbox as I was told to and never once did I get a call back. Well you finally got me to leave a review BioLife, I hope it serves you better than you serve your customers.

LeukoLab in Quincy is the absolute best!…read more I have been giving blood and participating in many different medical studies over the last 10 years, at all the hospitals in Boston and other medical research groups, and I can tell you that none of them compare to LeukoLab.. The office is beautiful. Modern, clean and professional. The staff is super nice and accommodating and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable throughout the whole process... The money is way more than any other place will pay you and you get paid quickly. (The other places can take 4-6 weeks to pay)... As far as the actual procedures... they are easy and nothing to worry about. Even the bone marrow donation (which sounds a little scary!) was simple. The doctor and nurse were fantastic and put me at ease during the whole process by explaining what is going on. Honestly, all I felt during the entire 45 min procedure was a little pressure during the extraction and it only lasted a minute... The majority of the time is just the staff setting up for the actual procedure... *** This is the best and most generous $$$ research Lab I have ever gone to... If you want some quick and easy cash, while feeling good about doing a very great thing in helping crucial medical research, then this is definitely a Win/Win!!!

I told her that before I started there, I wanted to finish the month out at the other place. I have to admit only having to go there every few months and getting one lump sum sounded great and my veins got to rest. I also felt the staff was not as skilled at taking the plasma. I was told okay and told to make an appointment for the end of the next month. I came back and was told to come back a month later, now mind you I had not been to the other place since the month before. So, it had been a month since I had given plasma. The lady, Sandra came over and said that I was not a good candidate as my veins were not strong enough. Firstly, Sandra lied, I told her I was going to finish the last month at the other center, than wait a month and come there. I did that. She lied and said she told me to wait two months. She did not. I also did not appreciate her trying to tell me that I was probably not allowed to go back to the other place, which is not true. Like I told Sandra, I didn't have a good experience there. The people were not good at putting the needle in. I thought that was part of the reason why the vein in my left arm was not good. But to have some person who does not know me, try to label me is not cool. This is money I use for bills and food and for my son, yes one son. Her attitude and probably stereotyping me is not cool. How about getting to know the person?
