Imagine my surprise! I went to sit with one of the people in the booth. They called the main line of Chase. On the phone call I was told that it was closed because they needed 'verbal confirmation' it was me. I said 'It's me. I am sitting here with one of your coworkers and he has verified all my ID.' The woman on the phone said that was NOT enough! So they closed the account. Without my knowledge, they shut the account and mailed me a check. I was not home so the check sat in front on my apartment door until I got home. So blessed that no one stole the check sitting in front of my apartment door. Went to Bank of America and Phillip treated with respect. Do not let this bank Chase you. I am looking into reporting them.

Citizens will 'universal default' your credit if you have ONE issue on your report- even though you have paid every single bill of theirs on time. then they continue to look at your credit reports and while it's ok to penalize you for errors that weren't even yours or related to their company in ANY way, won't re-instate your original limit and low apr.. I find the local banks, and Centreville Bank in particular excellent. Specifically, I am not dinged constant fees like I am with the larger, national banks. The outside of the bank is pretty vanilla and plain. Inside it is very clean and modern. Lots of glass and a soft color palate. The interior is one of the nicest bank interiors I have ever been in! The retail branch is located in a beautiful white house with a sweeping porch just outside the Wakefield/Narragansett rotary. The landscaping is simple but neat...and walking up the wooden porch steps you feel like you are heading into someone's home. There were no customers in the bank and I was greeted immediately by a teller behind the counter. The staff here looked relaxed...and happy...and best of all, eager to please. I completed my transaction quickly and I was out the door thinking "hmm...they were REALLY sweet." Odd. How often do I leave my bank thinking that? Never...until this place became MY bank. The décor is dated and the carpet definitely needed a scrubbin'. But in a way, it adds to the old school charm here. They offer a full line of financial products and services. I would seek them out for future needs based on the friendly, local vibe. Local is the way to go with banking - and this local biz does South County proud.
