The parking lot has plenty of spaces. On the 1st floor, there is a directory that lists the suite numbers of the businesses such as, Anchor Medical Associates, Lifespan Laboratories, Men's Health Center, and Infectious Diseases Outpatient Clinics in Rhode Island. The Lifespan Laboratories hours are Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 5:30pm and is located on the 2nd floor, Suite D. Anchor Medical Associates is my PCP so I usually go there first and then have bloodwork done at the Lifespan Laboratories right around the corner. When you walk in, you first pull a ticket number and then your number will be called by the receptionist. The receptionist will check you in and I gave her my lab requisition form. Within 5 minutes, I was called in and blood was drawn. Phlebotomist was very pleasant and process was quick and seamless. There was no bruise at the blood drawn site.

The office is very small overall but cozy. There is one woman who works here and she is splendid. Extremely nice and professional. I mentioned to her that I have an issue with needles and that I will never out grow my fear unfortunately, and she was completely sympathetic. She used a needle one size down from the one she normally would use in order for me to not feel it. You know, I didn't! I was very thankful! She also took the time to explain the glucose test process. The office is very clean and well kept. There is some reading material, but nothing that interested me so my suggestion is to bring something to read if you think you will be awhile. My ONLY reason for the 4 stars is because they are not open weekends. I had come here Saturday morning as to try and avoid interrupting my work week and the hours, which are posted right on the door, only show Monday-Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm. So the only time I could do this was a weekday morning.

Rarely that's the case with me lbut it's happened at hospitals and other facilities - the constant poking with no blood. Here they remember and she finds the correct spot first try everytime. The intake is a bit lengthy but they do it right and unlike East Side they do it in front of you and explain any questions before you initial or sign. Again other places treat you like a deli order and you sit in the waiting room until they do the paperwork and surprise surprise, I've gotten bills for things my insurance didn't cover at East Side where Quest will look and make sure all is well. Even with the short hours - I'm giving this 5 stars because of the quality of service. Besides, I usually have to fast anyway so it's not an issue. It's a walk in & appointment so those that get angry, make an appointment.

Prior to drawing my blood, the girl was around the corner coughing/hacking. Then she wiped her nose…read morew/her hand. After putting on gloves, she then couldn't seem to find a vein on my left side. Then she tries the right. Never had an issue before. Just after she inserts the needle, she calls over another girl to help her b/c she moved the needle (which I was getting stabbed w/on the inside). The other girl had to help w/getting the needle back to where it needed to be and putting the vile on to collect the blood. They never took the rubber band off the whole time while saying the blood is coming out slowly. Meanwhile, there's blood dripping on the floor. After all that, two of the tests couldn't be done b/c the blood was hemolyzed, which means the blood was compromised either when it was drawn or when it was transported and couldn't be used. This is the 2nd time a Lifespan lab has screwed up my samples so my tests couldn't be done.
