HORRIBLE Experience. The actual radiologist was great - very nice. But I am not able to get help to set up a patient portal, nir have they sent the CT scan files to my surgeon. WORSE: they have many numbers and the only ones that have a person to talk to says "I can't help, call this other number". Then that number says "leave your number and we will call you back". But after a whole day they never called. A TERRIBLE TERRIBLE byzantine system. Stay away! read more

CHECK PRICES THEY ARE THE WORST.....I booked an appt for an MRI of my hand before surgery and was told I had to pay the balance of my deductible which was $750. I asked how much without insurance because last time it was $450 and was told without insurance it was $550. I get the increase things cost more. I called Blue Cross and they told me they can charge what they want even though it was wrong. I questioned the price with RIMI and the girl was so rude then she hung up on me. So now I'm going to RI Hosp for $450. You have to question everything, no wonder this place has so few stars and Blue Cross allows it. My 5yo son had chest X-rays there at the providence location almost a month ago. They apparently forgot to send the radiographs to our pediatrician. We went to our follow up appointment thinking that since we hadn't heard anything that the rads must have been normal. Turns out he had a lung infection and needs 2 weeks of antibiotics. Only way they finally sent the radiographs over was our doctor had to call them 3 weeks after they were performed. I called the providence location and they said a 3 weeks turnaround is "normal". They were just refusing to take responsibility and covering their rear ends. Terrible service. read more

Just had my MRI before I rant the ladies that did my test were amazing However I was told to be here at 8:45 I arrive on time 9:15 -9:20still in the waiting room If my back didn't hurt so bad I would have walked out I finally get called to the back There I wait another 10 minutes absolutely ridiculous I understand things happen but I am now here 2 hours and finally done for a test that took 40 minutes You really need to get a handle on this read more

Called the main RIMI phone number to schedule first pregnancy ultrasound, the customer service representative was amazing. Super kind, outgoing and made the experience of booking a breeze. When we arrived, same deal. The front desk staff were kind and helpful. However, when got into the room we were told we need to shut our phones off and put them away (very strange). We were halfway through the scan, and were told that their policy is not to print out any pictures of the ultrasound and we are forbidden from taking a picture of the screen. This is after paying ~$400 and never being told any of this beforehand. What was supposed to be a beautiful, special day turned out to be stressful and depressing. No explanation was given as to why no pictures are given/allowed to be taken. We left without having a picture of our baby to keep, which was extremely disheartening. It's been a week and we still have yet to hear a response from corporate on this matter, and it looks like we may have to explore alternative avenues to get this resolved. I received a deep reflux bilateral venous ultrasound to test for venous insufficiency. I was in a regular supine position for the first part, and then moved into a reverse Trendelenburg position for the second part (where they tilt the bed so the feet are below the head). I have since learned that this is not as accurate or reliable as a standing position (according to the American Vein and Lymphatic Society). I asked the manager at Randall Square why my report says I was in a standing position when I was not. She told me that the reverse Trendelenburg position is considered to be a standing position. I believed her. I did some more research and discovered that the reverse Trendelenburg position is actually considered to be a supine position and is not recommended for accurate and reliable results for this type of ultrasound. The patient is supposed to stand if they can. I asked her why I was not standing. She told me it was for patient comfort. I find it troubling that (a) she provided me with misleading information (saying that the reverse Trendelenburg position is standing when it is considered supine) and that (b) they are not asking patients if they would be comfortable standing for the examine, and performing it that way if they say yes. They are a medical imaging facility. Why are they not prioritizing accuracy and reliability? read more

It's that time of year again and I have to stop scheduling my mammograms right before Christmas. It is busy enough without adding that to my schedule. Although I have to say that when I went last year they had the most beautiful Christmas trees I have ever seen. They were manikins that were decorated and they were exquisite. Nothing so much this year. I have been going here for years and the people are always extremely nice and the best part is that when you have an appointment you will be called within 10 minutes of that appointment. At least that has been my experience and they never fail. They are kind and professional and efficient and I can't dream of going anywhere else to have this done. Went here for a mammogram today. First one, so I was understandingly a little nervous. But there was absolutely no reason to be, let me tell you! First off, staff is super friendly. Speedy check in, very little wait time, & technician was amazing! Very knowledgeable. Informed me about everything she was doing & what to expect. And she was gentle as well. I really thought this was going to hurt based on all the nightmare stories women had told me about their experiences...not unlike their labor stories...lol! Guess they just went to the wrong place ;-) The other great thing about this place is the hours. They have evening & Saturday appointments...a lifesaver for those of us w/tight work schedules. The machines seemed old. They process different charges for the physician to read the imaging and the actual imaging. And then when you pay your bill on line it double charges you. Takes days to reverse the charges. Such a pain. read more

My heart definitely sank when the waiting room was packed on a random weekday morning, but I shouldn't have worried--they were super efficient! The technician performing my ultrasound was really friendly and professional. There are plenty of restrooms and changing rooms. They weren't able to read the ultrasound the same day, but they did it relatively quickly. Providence definitely isn't first in the nation when it comes to medical care, but I wouldn't hesitate to come here again! read more

Although they wouldn't take an appointment for me I have to give 5 stats as the staff was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. The x ray technician was very nice and kind... she could tell how much pain I was in and tried her best to make it as quick and painless for me. Can't really have all kids of X-ray's taken comfortably when your in pain but she did her best! Thank you ALL!!! read more

Was nervous about having an MRI, but it ended up being just fine! Dare I say... pleasant? I went in feet first to avoid that claustrophic sensation. There were headphones provided so I could listen to my choice of music. The friendly tech checked in with me over the microphone system every 4-5 minutes. And it was over in no time! read more

I never received a bill for my visits and then received a letter from lawyers stating that my payments had gone to collections. If you can send me a letter from a lawyer, why can't you send me a bill? Absurd. read more

Just had the worst experience with Rhode Island Medical Imaging Billing department .I called yesterday to pay a bill of $103 by mistake the girl on the phone put in the three digit code at the end of my credit card as the amount which was $894. She called to tell me that it would be cleared up and refunded within 10 minutes and I said OK 10 minutes is fine please make sure it gets back in there today. As I called in the afternoon to say it was not there she said I never would've said that because it takes ten minutes it takes at least 24 hours to get a refund. I said during this time which is everything going didn't need this. I asked to speak with the manager and I never got a manager. Call today at 2 o'clock and they said they just did it so it would be at least 48 hours before the money is returned what kind of establishment is This ! No call from the manager to make sure that everything was cleared up the worst not going there anymore and they were very very rude! read more
