Looking back, I wish I had done more research and paid closer attention to previous customer reviews before hiring them to handle my back taxes. When I initially spoke with them, the sales pitch made it sound like there were special IRS "tax relief" or "Fresh Start" programs available and that they would negotiate with the IRS to reach a resolution that worked with my income and budget. Based on those conversations, I expected a much different outcome than what I am currently experiencing. I started this process in June 2025, and more than a year later, I am still going through the resolution process with the IRS. I am giving two stars because there has at least been some progress with my case, and I want to acknowledge that. However, the resolution so far is nowhere near what I felt was presented to me when I signed up. At this point, I am still paying back the taxes owed along with penalties, while I will also have paid Federal Tax Law Group roughly $7,000 in fees by the time everything is finished. That is extremely frustrating because the outcome currently appears very similar to a payment arrangement I could have potentially pursued directly with the IRS myself. Had I known this would be the result, I would have seriously reconsidered spending thousands of dollars on their services and instead put that money toward my actual tax balance. Another major frustration has been the case management and communication. In my experience, they are extremely efficient when it comes to collecting their own payments, but I have not experienced that same level of urgency or attention when it comes to managing my case, communicating progress, or addressing my concerns. Their marketing was very persuasive when I was looking for help during a financially stressful situation. Unfortunately, my experience after signing up has not matched the expectations that were set during the sales process. I would strongly encourage anyone considering their services to carefully research the company, read customer reviews, understand exactly what services you are paying for, and ask what realistic outcomes you can expect before signing an agreement. I plan to update this review once the IRS resolution process is completely finished. I sincerely hope the final outcome gives me a reason to change my opinion.
