We hired Luis as the DJ for our wedding on October 13th after receiving glowing recommendations from multiple coworkers that hired him for their own weddings. My husband and I were completely blown away by his level of professionalism and his management skills. When we first met Luis, we had absolutely no clue what do to. I was basically just following a checklist I found off of Pinterest. After that meeting we knew not only did we want to hire him, but that we absolutely needed him if our wedding was going to have any semblance of a real wedding. We met with him more times throughout the year before our wedding than we met with any other vendor. It was during these multiple meetings that he started building our timeline so that everything had a flow to it. I mean, seriously think about, the DJ is the one that built our timeline. And I'm talking about a serious down to 5 minute increments timeline of specific events and what songs to go with each event with notes on the feel you wanted for that event. It was so unbelievably helpful, I honestly don't know how I would've managed without him. We also ended up hiring his wife, Iris, to be our day of coordinator. I believe that our wedding was Iris's first wedding to officially coordinate for the day of. But regardless, she was amazing. We had a few pretty serious hiccups at our wedding (cake was a no show, caterer forgot to set up 2 whole tables) but through it all she kept me calm and told me that she would take care of it. When the cake was a no show, she hounded the baker until they brought something (not close to what we wanted but better than nothing) and while she was trying to do that she and my bridesmaids started working on Plan B. She had Luis go to a grocery store and by a cake to have something at the cake table while my bridesmaids started calling bakeries and grocery stores trying to find enough cake to feed everyone. Even though it was Iris's first official coordinating event, I honestly feel like she will be the best coordinator you could ever ask for. And Luis will hands down be the best DJ you could have for your event. They are both amazing people that really try to get to know who you are as a person and mold their services to fit what you want. I was a day-of coordinator for a New Years Eve wedding (12/31/15) and had the pleasure of working with Luis. Luis is a great DJ and Emcee. Luis is amazing!! Luis DJ'ed our daughter's Quinceñera -- mind you a wedding practically. We met at least 4 times to go over the timeline and revised it even at the last minute. Luis did as planned! Based off of our first impressions of Luis from our meetings prior to the wedding we were impressed. He was professional and we really felt that he understood our true vision. We really enjoyed him as a person, we loved meeting with him and chatting away about our dream of a day. However then came our wedding day and the dissatisfaction. Everyone makes mistakes so initially when Luis introduced our best man and maid of honor as the new Mr. and Mrs. we got over it. Ok no big deal right? Well it slowly became a nightmare situation. My husband had planned to surprise me with a special dance after having taken dance lessons without my knowing, Luis knew about this, and planned this with my husband and then the moment the surprise was supposed to happen..Luis forgot. Luis then played the father daughter dance song for the mother son dance. In addition, I had also made Luis aware of a special speech I wanted to make for my husband after all the speeches so no one would suspect it, this also didn't go as planned. And lastly the music that we had talked about so much didn't even get played. I am beyond disappointed and heart broken because when people speak of our wedding DJ all they can talk about are the hiccups. The DJ and the dynamic that he created were critical for us and the day of we were beyond disappointed. It was as if we had never met with Luis, as if he we hadn't talked about all of our expectations. I don't know what happened that day but Luis was a hot mess. And I hate to say this because he truly is a great person and we liked him so much, but I'll never get that day back, and when I re-live our wedding day through our video I cringe when I see all the mistakes from Luis. I've shed my share of tears because of how disappointed I was. Truthfully the day of I was on cloud 9 so I didn't want to let it get to me, but now that it is over, it hurts so much to reflect on how let down we were. I'm a very easy going person, I was never a bridezilla, and I understand that hiccups will occur on a wedding day but Luis ruined some of the major moments of our wedding day and that is just not acceptable. This was very difficult for me to write because to this day I feel like the Luis we met before our wedding wasn't the Luis at our wedding. Lastly, I do want to say that Luis does do great uplighting and that did turn out as we had anticipated. The uplighting gave our outdoor wedding a wonderful, romantic look and we were incredibly satisfied with his work. My hopes are not to discourage anyone from booking Luis, I hope that he was able to truly learn what went wrong (even though it was at my expense) and never repeat it again. A couple gets one day, thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours are invested to ensure it goes wonderfully and magically, the DJ is a huge part of this planning. He can either make or break it. Luis DJ'd our wedding 8/31/13 and was a fantastic DJ and wonderful to work with. He had such wonderful attention to detail and took the time to meet with us a few times before to get a feel for what we wanted. We had a very mixed crowd, but our ultimate goal was to keep everyone dancing throughout the night. Luis was amazing at reading the crowd and providing the right mix to keep everyone with very different musical tastes dancing the entire night. The dance floor was never empty. Luis also had great suggestions for entrance songs for the bridal party, garter toss, etc. He took the time to coordinate the whole wedding schedule with us and had great suggestions, amazing organization as well as attention to detail. Do not underestimate how important the musical soundtrack is to your wedding - it truly gives your special day the extra touch to get everyone excited and ready to party and Luis was the perfect choice. My fiancé and I were referred by a friend to Luis and met him in early October (our wedding is in April) and our initial reaction was he is going to be perfect for our wedding, and as most people mentioned, the price was right which was definitely an incentive for us as well. Well...there is a reason that his price point is less than everyone else's, and it is because once he feels as though he has locked you in, it's a complete 180 experience. Luis has no website or videos for anyone to get an idea of his work, so he agreed (after we asked) that we could attend one of his events to see him in action. Months went by and there was one excuse after another about why this couldn't take place even though we told him this would be the deciding factor to move forward. He finally told us there was a friend's wedding we could attend. We waited the entire day to receive the details of where to meet him, and he never got back to us at all and later told us he "forgot". We also emailed him multiple times requesting a signed contract, to no avail. 3 weeks went by and we texted and called him and he told us he thought he sent it, but it was stuck in his "draft emails". We still agreed to meet in person again and gave him a deposit in good faith (which he cashed), but still did not email us or bring a copy of a signed contract in person! After a few months, we started to get worried and decided that due to his nonchalant and dismissive behavior, we would move forward with another DJ company. We promptly let Luis know of our decision and he emailed us back refusing to return our deposit, which is highly unethical because there is still to date no signed contract by either party and our wedding date is 3 months away, so there is no basis to keep our money. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so please save yourselves the stress, and go with tried and true professionals. Luis is great at presenting well at first and we have heard that he mixes well at events, but our experience has been horrendous to say the least. We now have to waste time and money to take him to small claims court in order to get our deposit back...exactly what every bride and groom dreams of happening while planning a wedding! read more

Luis was absolutely amazing as a DJ and I'd highly recommend him to anyone and everyone!  He was the DJ at our wedding on 11.6.15 and people were giving us compliments on him during and after the wedding.  Any time he saw the crowd was starting to dwindle off he immediately changed songs to keep everyone up and dancing. Throughout the entire process he was very easy going, communicative, and really listened to what our style was.  He met up with us a few times before the big day at different locations that were convenient for us.  If you have a venue where there is no itenerary, don't worry at all because he has a layout that works great and he is extremely flexible.  If your venue already has an itinerary (like how ours did - which his was almost identical), he will work with the coordinator to mesh the itineraries together.  If you aren't quite sure what songs to pick or what songs to play at what time (example - wedding party entrance, bouquet toss, cake cutting)  he will come up with great suggestions  (we honestly just let him completely pick some of our songs).  He is extremely organized, professional, and even calming  during the stressful wedding planning and the day of.  He has all high end equipment and up lighting too (can change to any color which adds an elegant touch).  He is all of the above and bonus - he is extremely reasonable on pricing.  I just can't thank him enough!!!! read more

Luis was recommended to me by my coworker/friend. I gave him a call. He was very nice and polite. I did like that he on the phone gave me a story on how he became interested in DJ'ng. Overall the conversation we had left me with no reservation that he was def the person I wanted to hire to dj my wedding. He was detailed and organized. We met a total of three times and it wasn't like we were meeting a dj for business. It was as if Luis was an old friend we were meeting to talk and make plans with. He has a very structured itinerary yet flexible to make any changes to fit your wedding. Which I loved cause I love structure.
