Many of the musical shows are composed in house (like Wizard of Oz) and are unique to this theater which I didn't know - impressive. I was expecting the same songs as you would expect with such a well known musical, but it was all different and just as enjoyable. There was a few times they added Christian element to the story, but it was subtle and not in your face. The singing talent in the cast was pretty good as was the sound system. There is probably not a bad seat in the place as we sat near the back and had no issues. They have boosters for the kids as well.

The bathrooms were nicer than I expected. I heard they recently did a renovation and I thought expanding the lobby was a great idea. We saw the ballroom area on the second floor and wow, what a cool space that is. I had a few concerns though which I thought negatively affected my experience. During intermission I couldn't figure out why there was such a hold up exiting the theatre. Yes there were a number of older patrons who walked slow or with walkers, but that is totally fine. When I exited the auditorium I saw this HUGE bottle neck of the men's bathroom line, elevator line, people exiting the theatre and people entering the theatre... and to top it all off... they put the refreshment bar right there. OMG... it was so frustrating and such a bottleneck. I'd consider moving the refreshment bar to the main lobby area which seem to be much more spacious and give more room for the auditorium doors. While I thought the bathrooms were unexpectly large and spacious but there were some concerns I had. The line to the men's bathroom went well into the lobby, but the door needed to be handled by every person in line. I think a door stop might help to prop the door open and so not everyone had to touch the door. Every single person (hopefully) is washing their hands - but with a manual on/off lever, it just stalled the sink line. And, it made a mess with everyone's wet hands handling the faucet lever and walking to the paper towel dispenser. I think they could speed up the line and make less congeston by using automatic on/off faucets. This is what the Pantages recently did and it was a game changer. Same goes with the paper towel dispenser. Everyone had to wave their hand to get the towels to dispense. Ugg, it was sooooo slow. I'd much prefer the towel dispensers which would automatically dispense a towel immediately when one is ripped off. And, worst part, with just 2 dispensers in the men's bathroom, there was one that was not working with dead batteries. OMG... that should be a priority to check before opening the house. In many ways this is just inexcusable.

I was entranced from the start to the finish. It ran at about two and a half hours I believe with a 20 minute intermission about 1 hour in to the show. We had seats fairly close to the front and had a good view from our vantage point. The performances were amazing. There was a silk dancer, rope dancers, tons of acrobatics, a guy with a nifty metal hoolahoop thing that he did several cool tricks with, jump rope acrobatics, etc. It was fantastic. At first I wasn't…read moreaware of what I was going to experience so I took it to YouTube to give me a few minutes of examples. At that point I was crazy excited to see this live. I loved how the performers engaged the crowd. At times the show were comedic, romantic and for the majority of the performance I was sitting at the edge of my seat. These super hero like athletic performers know how to put on one heck of a show. When you're 30 or 40 feet in the air swinging around on a curtain or rope doing flips and turns there's something to be said. If you're afraid of heights like me you'll know that nervous feeling you get in your feet when you're looking down just a few stories...this performance had that nervous feeling going up my legs and making my palms sweat. Yes, I was nervous watching (an amazed nervous if that makes sense) and there were a few times throughout the show I swear I was drooling while watching. Here's how I describe this: breathtaking, adrenaline rushing, scared (why? they're the professionals), nervous, jaw dropping, drooling, amazing, athleticism...the list goes on. Expect all of this and more: flips, jump roping, hanging from curtains, swinging, rope climbing, an exhibition showing off pure strength and laughter. I'm even missing a few things on this list. Oh...the music is live! That alone is worth going. It really is off the hook!!! And acrobats performing to music? It can't get any better than that. I can't pick a favorite performance of the night but one thing that I know everyone enjoyed was the filming act where the performer grabbed four people in the crowd to assist him play out a scene. When the audience participants weren't following along he made fun of them and had the entire crowd laughing. For sure I will be coming back to future performances and when I'm in Vegas for a business trip in September I'll make it a point to see this performance on their grand stage. I loved every moment of this performance. I sure do hope the guy whose popcorn was taken from him received another bag. It was part of the opening act that started the evening off with several laughs. I'm sure that makes no sense. That's why I recommend you see this while they're in town.

I love coming to this theater, both as an actor and an audience member! Didi and Dimyana Pelev…read moremanage to put on wonderful productions that cover a wide range of genres and stories. About 75% of the plays are geared for and to children, but adults find humor in the jokes and acting as much as the kids. The other 25% of the plays are sure to make an emotional impact, be it pure comedy or heart-wrenching stories based on real history, and all of it is truly awe-inspiring to watch. The set-up is fairly simple; some couches mixed with tables and chairs in the audience. Audience members are provided with a small dish of light snacks to start them off, and more snacks and drinks are available for purchase in the lobby. There's usually an intermission for people to take a bathroom break or to buy more concessions. The folks at this theater also sometimes provide silk roses for purchase that have tags attached for notes of encouragement and praise to individual actors. These are delivered during intermission, so it's best if they're bought and written early on. (Usually the actors also appreciate candy tribute, so you can do it with either a flower or a candy!) Following the end of a performance, the actors gather in the lobby for a meet and greet with their audience members. You can shake hands, ask questions, and take pictures with your favorite characters. This is one of my favorite theaters to attend. It really is a hidden gem in Yucaipa!

Whether you're in a large group, want a cozy high top for two, a counter seat to chat bar style with others, or want up close and personal floor access, there's a spot for you. There's even balcony seating! The sound system was clear and well balanced. My friend mentioned he would've liked it a little louder. Indeed, it was a "comfortable" volume. Our waitress was quick and friendly. She was fair, in that she told us up front they charge for water (I think it was 6 bucks). She said sometimes customers get upset about that. Our drinks were good and the price was about what we'd expect at a venue. We didn't order food, but the plates traveling by us had appealing presentation and smelled delicious! The setup was really easy to follow, and they provide you with the colors you'll need throughout the class, which was nice. There was also more than enough space at the tables for a bottle of wine and a snack, which is always a plus. My painting came out WAY better than I expected, especially because I'm a terrible artist lol. The host wasn't the most helpful, though. She would give a nice 5-minute speech every 30-45 minutes, but it wasn't really a step-by-step process. I completely understand that everyone's pet is different, so it would be hard to teach the exact same process for every painting, but it just didn't really feel like she was "teaching" us throughout the class. Now, I have to give ALL my praise to the Purple Easels artists who were walking around helping everyone, especially Eden. That girl is AMAZING!! She was so helpful and knowledgeable. I would literally wait for her to come by so I could steal some knowledge from her. The other artists were walking around and helping too, but I noticed that Eden genuinely seemed to enjoy her job, which made it so easy to ask her for help. She actually took the time to explain what she was doing and why, instead of just telling me what color to use. My painting would NOT have come out this amazing without her guidance. Big props to that artist!! I'm really happy with my experience and would definitely do another Paint Your Pet event!
