The doors open a half hour before the show and there are drinks and snacks to purchase in the lobby. Every seat is a great location and the seats were very comfortable. The staging and props were gorgeous, and the theater had an intimate and comfortable feel. Before the show some of the actors did a hilarious bit to keep us entertained. They were so personable and created a new and fun dynamic. The show was great and the acting was wonderful. The theater runs on volunteers and was very friendly! We will definitely be back!

Redlands Footlighters has a nice layout for their theatre and comfortable seats. My only issue is that some of the shows in their lineup for their seasons are super archaic and are aimed at older audiences. Personally, the Footlighters need fresh, diverse stories if they want to attract a younger crowd and more fans. Additionally, some productions seem more rushed than others. The mysteries are fun, it's just that more rehearsal is in order for some cast members. Merch is available in the lobby along with a small restroom. Keep an eye out for a interviewer who makes regular appearances. Make your voice heard!

A local gem known to Redlands residents but not so much to others is the outdoor theatre on a hill…read moreinside Prospect Park that is perched over the San Bernardino Valley. This cultural resource was originally built and is managed and operated by the nonprofit Redlands Theatre Festival. Here in this small amphitheater, series of up to five live musical productions and plays have been presented to delighted audiences for almost 40 summers. Diane and I just enjoyed viewing the 2013 season debut of the very funny comedic musical "The Andrews Brothers," which involves three men posing as the Andrews Sisters of '40s fame during a USO concert. As always, the acting and singing were very professional and of high quality. This dramatic setting sports good sight lines to the stage below from any of the individual fold-down plastic seats. While there is no center aisle, the concrete rows in front of seats are spacious enough to allow spectators to remain in their seats as other attendees pass by. Stage lighting is good, and acoustics are excellent. This sculpted bowl setting is not particularly large, but it still comfortably seats about 800 theatre goers in close proximity to the stage, creating an intimate relationship and palpable rapport between actors and audience. Despite taking place during the hottest time of the year, all productions begin at 8:30 p.m. So, the outside temperature is usually in the low 80s. A brightly decorated festival tram is available to take theatre goers up and down the hill. But one can walk instead to get a good workout if he or she wishes. And, once again I did. But this time not by choice. After pointing out to Diane as we rode up the hill in the tram how steep the incline was and how lucky we were not to have attempted the uphill climb, as my bad luck would have it, just as we reached our car below after an easy downhill walk right after the production ended, we noted that a camera and binoculars did not make the return trip. For, I had left them behind in a bag under my seat. I felt rather stupid, but paid for my negligence with a near-breathless quick climb to the summit, and a return walk to the car as soon as a festival staffer handed me my bag, with camera and binoculars still inside, just as I reached the top of the theatre steps. I didn't say a word before the lady thrust my possessions at me. She just knew they were mine, declaring, 'You look like a man on a mission." I thanked her for safeguarding my goods, and she replied, "I've got your back!" This was very good, since this was the second time in a month that I left my camera outside in a public place, having to rely on honest employees to make up for my absentminded-ness. The last time was on an outdoor bench at BJ's. I realize the third time may NOT be the charm, so I need to pay much better attention to my valuable personal possessions.

My daughter has been attending LGSPA since October 2019. It has since changed owners and wow, what…read morea difference. We didn't have any issues before with the exception of a few mix ups with payment, but you can see the difference with a motivated new owner and refreshed staff. The women my daughter has had as teachers have all been so wonderful and encouraging. The teachers have all shown so much passion for their art. They are patient and always make dance class fun. My daughter looks forward to dance class and always comes out with a smile. They recently had a small showcase that was so well organized and enjoyable and still took necessary precautions due to the pandemic. None of my daughter's classmates wanted to perform in the showcase but she was still able to dance. I was surprised she wanted to and I thank her teacher for giving her that confidence to dance it alone. We'll continue to attend LGSPA as long as my daughter is interested in dancing. I look forward to more dance recitals.

My little niece did so well in her play. The acting teacher Ms Sam was very friendly & accommodating, and my niece looked forward to every practice. I will be sending my children to this studio when they are old enough! Staff is knowledgeable. Great family values all around here.

The current conductor of the Redlands Symphony gave his final performance at the April 16 concert…read moreafter 33 years on the podium. The orchestra has been a community mainstay for many, many years and has been wonderful during those years. The selections usually include old favorites matched with lesser know pieces, and its current conductor's interpretations of those pieces is sometimes very evident. The venue is easy to access with lots of nearby free parking. Even thought the auditorium is listed as a "chapel", it accommodates large audiences and is well suited to the acoustical needs of an orchestra. We look forward t many future events under its new conductor who will have big shoes to fill, but who will benefit from the orchestra's longstanding reputation for excellence.

RSO was great under the direction of Jon Robertson and the new conductor Ransom Wilson has taken the symphony to even greater heights. The programming is varied, the short, informative talks before the pieces by Conductor Wilson are valuable and the quality of the orchestra members can not be topped. The cost is a great value. No need to fight LA traffic. Great music is right here.

The plot revolves around a spoiled Princess who is taught lessons in humility and humanity by her jilted suitor. The production runs through March 13, 2011 with evening and matinee performances each weekend. Not only has Lifehouse done an amazing job on costumes and scenery, but the leads and major suporting actors are "professional" quality and the original songs and lyrics rival a Disney production. While providing a wonderful, fast-paced story that keeps children riveted, the production's script and songs will have adults humming the songs for days afterwards. A perfect date night!!

The bathrooms were nicer than I expected. I heard they recently did a renovation and I thought expanding the lobby was a great idea. We saw the ballroom area on the second floor and wow, what a cool space that is. I had a few concerns though which I thought negatively affected my experience. During intermission I couldn't figure out why there was such a hold up exiting the theatre. Yes there were a number of older patrons who walked slow or with walkers, but that is totally fine. When I exited the auditorium I saw this HUGE bottle neck of the men's bathroom line, elevator line, people exiting the theatre and people entering the theatre... and to top it all off... they put the refreshment bar right there. OMG... it was so frustrating and such a bottleneck. I'd consider moving the refreshment bar to the main lobby area which seem to be much more spacious and give more room for the auditorium doors. While I thought the bathrooms were unexpectly large and spacious but there were some concerns I had. The line to the men's bathroom went well into the lobby, but the door needed to be handled by every person in line. I think a door stop might help to prop the door open and so not everyone had to touch the door. Every single person (hopefully) is washing their hands - but with a manual on/off lever, it just stalled the sink line. And, it made a mess with everyone's wet hands handling the faucet lever and walking to the paper towel dispenser. I think they could speed up the line and make less congeston by using automatic on/off faucets. This is what the Pantages recently did and it was a game changer. Same goes with the paper towel dispenser. Everyone had to wave their hand to get the towels to dispense. Ugg, it was sooooo slow. I'd much prefer the towel dispensers which would automatically dispense a towel immediately when one is ripped off. And, worst part, with just 2 dispensers in the men's bathroom, there was one that was not working with dead batteries. OMG... that should be a priority to check before opening the house. In many ways this is just inexcusable.
