I saw Dr. Uldrikson for about 2 years while living near Kingman, AZ. Before my first visit I spoke many times with his office staff about my insurance and what they would cover after they verified my insurance. After my appointment, I ended up getting a bill for the full amount and when I called about it, I was told my insurance did not cover him. I have a very limited income and that was the reason for my numerous calls before my visit to verify payment. Needless to say, I was put in quite a bind to pay them off and I ended up losing my temper and having words with the staff. I later apologized for raising my voice. Then a year later I woke up on the day of a scheduled cleaning with Dr. Uldrikson and my tongue started swelling. It had never happened to me before, so I called while on my way to his office to see if I should head to the ER instead. The staff member spoke with the dentist and he said to come into his office. I should have not listened. By the time I got there, my tongue was so swollen that I could barely speak. I was taken to a room and left alone fore a few minutes. Then the dentist walked in. He did not say a word (as usual) and suddenly was "cleaning" my teeth and 10 minutes or so later, he got up and left. It is very odd to me to have the dentist do the cleaning, let alone in like 10 minutes. It is also odd that he never tells me who he is or what he was going to do. And even more odd, Dr. Uldrikson never even said anything about a potentially life-threatening concern. I sat there for another 10 minutes wondering if I was done, which is a usual state to be in in his office, and finally decided I should ask someone. I went to the front and asked the nurse (?) if I was done and what did he say about my tongue. She went to ask him, he was in the back but I could see him , and when she asked him about my tongue I could hear his voice raise and he was berating her for not telling her I was that patient. You would think he would notice a tongue so large it was now keeping my mouth from shutting all the way! I decided to go to the ER right away and it was a good idea, because I was taken right back and examined. A CT scan, steroids, and an EpiPen injection later, my tongue swelling started to go down and they eventually could let me go home. I never did get a real answer on why it happened, but at least they stopped the swelling and sent me home with strict orders to see my PCP right away and an RX for an EpiPen. Dr. Uldrikson could have allowed me to die without even acknowledging me as a person. I always felt like just a set of teeth when I went to see him. We went to riata dental for top dentures last December and paid $175.00, and that paid $46.00 for xrays which left $134.00. This year,2021, in January we paid $152.00 and still owe $202.00 which is supposed to be the amount for what the total according what the insurance says. It is still waiting at the middle of March and is still not here yet. We called the bookkeeper in California and she said it's because we were out of network but checking with insurance they are in network. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Literally left the place in tears. My daughter who is 5, has a hole in her back tooth. It's causing her pain. They did get me an appointment quickly, but I waited over an hour in the waiting room. The dentist had his 7 year old son there, which is fine. I love kids, I have four of my own. But this child was so out of control. He was kicking a ball across the waiting room, almost hit me in the face. No one came and asked him to stop. He was watching a movie and had the volume up to the max, I couldn't hear anything the receptionist was trying to ask me about my insurance. At one point he was kicking the ball into the flat screen tv they had on the wall. No adult supervision for this kid at all. They did xrays and a cleaning for my daughter, and then that was it. Didn't address what the problem was, what needed to be done, or what the future cost would be. They told me they were having trouble hearing back from my insurance. While waiting for the total to pay, the little boy then took my kid's ballons that they got for the visit and let them go so they were stuck on the ceiling. They were both upset and crying. The kid then went back to get two more balloons, but was teasing my daughter with it. While this was all happening, the receptionist told me that they couldn't get an answer from my insurance so I would have to pay the full amount and have my insurance reimburse me. The total was $165. So I paid $165 to have my daughters teeth cleaned, and have both my kids bullied by the dentist's out of control son. I will not be coming back to them. Oh, and on my way out the door my daughter is crying because she never got another ballon, and this kid comes out and says "I was just kidding, you can have it". So I told her she could go get it, and as she's about to take the ballon he lets it go and starts laughing as it floated up in the sky. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was the most unprofessional office I've ever seen. Both my kids and I left crying. And my daughters still in pain, so I'll be taking her somewhere else read more

The Worst! Treatment Plan written February of 2017. Took six months of phone calls plus a three way call with Insurance Company on the phone with Dr Ulrich's office to get the office to admit they'd never sent it to them for approval because doctor didn't make payroll and his staff walked out. He then replaced the staff with people who he didn't train, and had never worked in a dental office before, they didn't know how to submit the forms, or even how to get in his computer system, so they'd lie and say they were still waiting for an approval from insurance for authorization that would never come. Now it's May, 2018. The first dental surgery dentist called in sick. We'd had a four hour drive, fasted for the anesthesia, and taken off work. That appointment was rescheduled, after another three weeks of waiting. But that surgery only solved two teeth issues. There was a terrible complication due to anesthesia because the new staff didn't know to call in in a pre-operating prescription that should have been taken the night before. There were two more appointments in which the office didn't have equipment or supplies on hand to do the procedures. To date the authorized treatment plan is 76% incomplete. The insurance authorization expired, the dentist said he is resubmitting the treatment plan. But then sent a letter stating he will no longer see the patient. We have filed a complaint with Arizona Dental Association, and we are not the first. Check health grades website for additional complaints filed. read more

Two bridges by this Dentist on the same teeth over a three year period, both got loose and separated, and he did not take any responsibility for the poor quality of the bridge or poor workmanship. Also extremely expensive. read more

I cannot begin to list the reasons I hated this office. First was having to wait months to get the procedure pre-authorized. They blamed my insurance and my insurance blamed them. After dealing with them my insurance has more credibility. I don't care what your political ideology is, having to watch FOX News is almost as painful as a root canal. Why assume everyone in Arizona wants to be subjected to misinformation? But lets concentrate on the real issue, professionalism. Now, let me first say they were great at getting me in. Very fast. I didn't wait long on any visit. That was nice. But the doctor barely spent any time and was in and out of the room in milliseconds. On one visit he acted like he had no idea why I was there and I had already been in there twice. During each procedure he mostly complained and referred to previous and current colleagues with profanity. He cursed his drill bits, his equipment and probably me. I heard one of his techs after walking out of the room where I was say, "If he does that again I'm going to knock the f**k out of him". I assume she was referring to me? Not matter if she was or not it was totally unprofessional. On my last visit I was informed they would no longer take my insurance after praising that insurance on my original visits. They're still listed as providers on that insurance so maybe they just didn't want me. That's fine because I wouldn't go back there for anything. Horrible! read more

Dr. Uldrikson is a very quiet person, but he definitely knows what he is doing. I had a long procedure done using conscious sedation and I was very pleased with the results. The last time I was scheduled for a cleaning the hygenist had an emergency and had to cancel that day's schedule. For whatever reason I was not informed and drove the 60 miles into Kingman. Dr. Uldrikson did the cleaning himself to accomodate me. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly, and they had no issues with my insurance company authorizations. read more

We moved to Kingman and we thought we would try Riata since we were not familiar to the area and dentists. We made a very big mistake!!! The office staff were rude and mis-leading on the fee's and cost's the amounts billed to us and our Insurance company was very different from what their quotes. 2nd- The dentist we had was just as rude and unfriendly, when he came into the room he didn't introduce himself or greet you not even a smile. You didn't have the opportunity to ask questions, he yelled and was demeaning to his staff right in front of you while you were being treated. I was given a shot to numb the area 3 times which was due to their over scheduling you and not because it was necessary for your treatment. My husband was left for long periods of time during his root canal due to other patients being booked so tight he fell asleep and from the time he walked in the door had his root canal and left was 4 hours why would this be necessary??? Then my root canal by his female Dentist/Partner was botched and I have been in discomfort every since and it looks like the tooth will need to be pulled in order to be pain free in addition to my root canal I was given gas because I too was left for lengthy periods of time, I had a reaction to the gas given and my husband stopped an assistant in the hallway to tell her to get the Dentist and she told him he would need to wait that the dentist was busy in another room..... read more
