When we first started I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work that needed to be done to renovate a 30 year old dentist office with 7 rooms to a modern beautiful spa like Acupuncture office. Everything needed to be gutted and replaced. We had to demo everything to its bones, tear up carpets and tiles, remove large pieces of walls in each room and then rebuild walls, doors, replace flooring, lights and everything to modernize and give it that spa like feeling. I was stressed....Until I talked with Fernando and we discussed the project and plans going forward. There are some people that instantly make you feel calm, relaxed and like everything is going to be okay. Fernando is one of those people. He is a true gift. The calm I felt was continually delivered over the time of the renovation as his team quickly went to work and my office moved along exactly along the time table he projected. When we moved to Croton in 2019, we had plans for updating and customizing our home. We tried really hard to find good contractors, having had bad experiences in the past. Unfortunately we kept having one bad experience after another. Bad quality, unfinished work, open permits, huge delays, big increases in cost from the estimates, and in general headaches for us to deal with. Fernando came in and fixed all our problems. Other contractors took 3 months to grade, install a basic stone wall, and dig a hole for a rain garden. Then they quoted us $45k to finish the work. When we said that was too high they left us with a mess. Fernando took 6 days to do that same work for half the cost. Then on top of that he fixed a huge mistake the other crew made on the rain garden and installed a good system that makes us much more confident our home is protected from big storms. The whole time he was much more transparent about materials and cost and timing than anyone else we dealt with. We're hoping that he's available for all our future projects and so happy that we finally found such a great contractor. During the estimate he was very concerned with how I found him. I explained online. He continued to tell me about all the work he is doing near me. Luis began to tell me problems he has with the project and wanted to do more work to my home rather than the actual project. When I explained he is not the first contractor that has been here and no one else deemed these issues. Luis then told me why my estimate would be very expensive. Luis went on to argue he has the best warranty. When I told him it was not as good as others, he told me that they must be lying. Luis told me he would email the estimate by the weekend. On 5/2 I texted him for an update. I did not get an answer and followed up on 5/4. I was told by the next day. I followed up again on 5/7 as I still do not have the estimate. At this time, I'm not going to use Brothers considering the I tip contact and lack of follow through.
