My fiance and I purchased our first home last year, and the basement flooded twice. It had no sump or drain system in place. Besides the flooding, we were consistently getting 'seeping' of water through the cinder blocks because we are on the side of a mountain. Nathan came out for a very thorough consult, and did a great job of explaining the possibilities and options for drain systems. He was honest and answered all of our questions. This was the ONLY company out of 4 that explained how we might have a monolithic foundation, and how it needs to be treated differently for safety purposes and to maintain the stability of the home. It turned out when they began to work, we did have a monolithic foundation, so the system had to be placed a little bit differently. The employees did a great job of installing the system, and answering all of our questions afterwards. It was also very appreciated how they were able to install a vapor barrier in our crawl space during the same week (we did not realize initially that they would also be able to provide this service.) Barbara worked with us to establish a payment plan that worked for us, which was extremely helpful and appreciated because we were paying for a few major projects at the same time. We have had the system installed for about 7 months now, and everything has been working great. We have reached out a couple times with questions/concerns, and usually deal with Sal. They then sent me a DocuSign document (contract) and told me they would be in touch to schedule in a few weeks. Had my basement encapsulated late april,dehumidifier installed, riding foam board installed on…read moreexterior walls of crawlspace and downspouts buried, when they buried the downspouts they knicked one of the irrigation lines, it took until early august for the damage to get worse and dig a hole in the yard above the damaged line, you can see the smile shaped crack in the picture below towards the bottom of the line, when I called they said no one could come for 10 days, the day of repair I get a call saying their technician called out, I said it cant wait any longer and it got escalated, then I was told they need a picture, I send the picture of the damaged line almost directly under the buried downspout, I then get a call that they actually dont repair issues like this, and that I need to get an estimate and that they don't deny or accept responsibility foe the damage, I then called and said all the irrigation companies want a flat fee to come out, and I dont feel comfortable doing if they arent accepting full accountability, this is when I got the supervisor on the phone and he basically told me "get an estimate, and we will see how we can help you out, if its a couple hundred dollars, im sure it wont be a problem, if its something like 800, that might be an issue" I spent almost 20k on this job and thats the response I get. I told the supervisor im giving him a chance to do the right thing and he told me he wouldnt. Unbelievable, I wouldnt reccomend this company to my worst enemy now.

I called Groundworks, who came out with their state of the art equipment, found out where the problem areas are, and gave a quote to fix it. Although it'll take a while to be able to afford the cost of fixing the house's foundation, I was able to have them fix the front porch since it is connected to the roof. They did a great job with leveling it, and even explaining to me what they are doing. All in all, I am quite impressed with Groundworks, and will look forward to figuring out a way to be able to afford to get the house's foundation fixed.

Over 3 months and still no action or effort by them to fix their destruction from a simple (failed) garage floor lift. They are refusing to fix the damage they caused to my floor pool AND foundation. They are forcing me to sue them for the simple matter of recovering damages they caused. *Garage floor cracked into 5 pieces *Pool squares too low (already sinking)/2"caulk filling a gap they left / lifted some too high *Foundation crack from garage lift *interior basement view of crack in foundation. Over this past weekend, after a long period of rain, I was concerned that the sump pump installed was not working properly, and I took a short video. I sent the clip of the pump to Robert LanFrank, he responded quickly by text to let me know that Customer Service will call me on Monday. Michelle called on Monday and scheduled a visit to the house with Edgar. Edgar answered all my questions patiently and in detail about the situation (varying heights of water tables affect the float mechanism, which initiates the pump, and high water accumulation does not necessarily mean the pump is not working), after testing the pump. While I will continue to monitor the sump pump activity, as more rain is expected this week. The better experience warrants an upgrade to the rating for Healthyway. This experience was four-star (good). However, given the previous experiences, I am giving three stars (which in my mind equals "as expected" - and a two-star upgrade) for now. I look forward to further upgrading the company, as we rebuild our relationship. [I am also removing the photos from the previous review since the related issues have been resolved.]
