I stopped in and ended up chatting with one of the owners--he was so kind and clearly loves what he does. He walked me through the menu and pointed me to some favorites, which made the whole experience feel really personal. I got the Bori fries and the mofongo cups (one "chicken," one "beef"), and everything was incredible--rich, savory flavors, crispy plantains, perfectly cooked plant-based meats, and that mama sauce tying it all together. When I asked about desserts, he even gave me a cinnabon bun to try, and it was unreal--warm, soft, perfectly sweet. Already planning my next trip back. I can't wait to try more.

I ordered Chicharronnes with mofongo and tostones. I devoured half of it on the 40 minute ride home. This was the best mofongo I've had since I first discovered it in San Juan 25 years ago. So many PR restaurants tend to overcook their pork, but these chicharrones were crispy on the outside, yet tender, juicy and succulent. I haven't been able to stop thinking about them. I'm constantly looking for a reason to go to Vineland now. lol Seriously, trust the locals. I can't wait to go back.
