Employees are friendly. Service was fast. Food was eh. Chicken wasn't quite right.. there were a variety of vegetables which I appreciate but the sauce tasted odd. Spouse had the sesame chicken and said it wasn't very good. It had a lingering flavor to it in the form of indigestion. This just wasn't if for us. We will continue to look for a local spot that fits our preference. Also the food comes in styrofoam so it made for a messy bag of leaked sauce when it was moved in the car. My wife had noticed this place once when we were headto Louisville, when found ourselves in the area again decided to try it. We had not noticed the first time that it was carry out only and that you had to call in your order and they would hand it though the door to you once it's was ready. As we were already there we called in an order. We got shrimp egg rolls, Kung Pao Shrimp and an order of Sweet and Sour Chicken. The egg rolls were great, the chicken was good though lacking and sort of vegetables that you'd expect. The Kung Pao was not at all spicy and was in fact strangely sweet. The primary taste of the Kung Pao was celery as that was its principle ingredient. Not sure we will be returning. read more

We've ordered takeout several times and we've never had an issue. Service has always been fast. Soup's have always been hot, almost too hot. Breaded chicken isn't chewing or cheap containing gristle or fat. Always plenty to eat so we don't feel shorted. Asian is hard to come by around our area for some reason. I was craving for chineese food and this was the oly place with 4 stars. I went here with high hopes and hodered thier combo special with kung pow chicken with fried rice and asked them to make it extra spicy. The food smelled good and when I took a bite, it was bland and sweet. The menu also said it was spicy and it was not. The chicken was a little slimy because of corn starch coating. The chicken fried rice it came with did not have any chicken in it. On the bright side, my order had quite a bit of veggies and when i peeked through the kitchen, it was very clean. This place is pretty damn decent and Finger Licking Good! The overall food was definitely tasty as my coworker and I decided to hit up lunch here. The only unfortunate thing is that it can easily be missed and it is the second of the Rice King! The owner's son was in there cracking it up with me and I had a lot of fun with him so that definitely lightened up the midday lunch for work. They have a cold fridge in which you can buy bottled drinks for about a $1.50. They also have a big saucebox located in the dining area so make sure you don't miss that. Soy sauce anyone...No MSG It is kind of convenient because if you are hungry and want to get your nails done there is a shop right next door, they are pretty awesome as well. All within walking distance. The turn in and out is A little tricky because you end up being at a light that does not have a left turn signal so if it is heavy traffic on that street you are SOL! The only negative experience I really had here is that the fortune cookie did not have a fortune in it and I definitely hold true to those, they have touched my heart for years! It also is pretty dingy and outdated with menus hanging up on the walls but at the end of the day that doesn't matter too much but some people love the aesthetic feel of an Asian food restaurant. this has to be the worst service chineese resturaunt I have ever been to. It takes forever to get your food, and I have called 5 times or more on multiple occasions, and no one evr even answered. This place has the worst Chinese food I've ever had and I've had my share. We were craving Chinese food and looked up a few reviews while driving. This was close to our new home so pulled in. Like many other fast foods now, it was call in order only so looked at their online menu. It's located in a very small strip mall. After about 20 minutes I walked up to the door and the kitchen was right there. He asked if I was Kim and then set back to work. I stepped outside. The food came out 5 minutes later. The food was hot as Chinese Food is almost always piping hot. Getting to the point--the Vegetable Lo Mein was mushy with extremely overcooked Noodles and Vegetables. The General Tso's chicken was just OK...pretty breaded. The same dish at last restaurant wasn't breaded at all. The Szechuan Beef also had overcooked veggies. The Shrimp Eggrolls are very big but, unfortunately, tasteless. To me, the quality of the vegetables is very important in Chinese Food. Even the water chestnuts were soggy! Mediocre boring and bland. Typical strip mall "Chinese" fast food. Dumplings are dense and bland, the dough too thick, accompanying sauce one dimensional, dull. Noodles were bland short and broken. Fried rice as boring and bland as imaginable.l Bland is the common theme with the food here. Service was annoyingly disinterested....change was handed to me in a wadded, folded mess. The fried wings were tempura battered, the fried rice only had onions and the meat of choice - no veggies, and the lo mein was soggy and lackluster. I live right down the street from Rice King, and have enjoyed it several times. Great value for great food. Prep time is extremely short, normally less then 10 minutes. I have only had a few things off the menu I don't like, but I adore the General Tso's special combination. Whenever my brother visits me from Johnson City, he practically demands we ordered from here at least a few times! read more

My fiancé and I are regulars here, as we used to live right down the street. Food has always been really good quality, and prices are lower than I would expect. Be aware, though they have a few tables, this place specializes in takeout. They've got some basic drink offerings in 2-liter and 20oz, but don't expect a fountain or beer. Also, the staff barely speaks English, so don't expect much conversation, even though they seem friendly enough. Even after we moved to a new house with other Chinese restaurants closer, we still order our takeout from Rice King. It's worth the extra few minutes drive. read more

The food was good but I thought the portion size was small for the price. I fried dumplings were great but the sauce was cold. The general Tso"s chicken was okay. I've had better and I've had worse.
