I originally thought I'd give it a 3, but 3 means OK and for several reasons, I can't say that. First-- I rarely at at buffets. And that's because long ago I realzized I'd rather eat moderates amount of good food, than stuff myself on mediocre food. But sometimes, I'm curious to try, to see how places remain open. But this one confirmed my worst suspicions. Service was fine; quickly seated, got drinks, and off to the buffet. The usual suspects....but NO labels at all. They had a decent seafood selection it seemed, but with no labels, someone like me who has a few allergies was SOL. So, no seafood tried, except an orange shrimp dish...and I have to question if that was all shrimp. Mostly breading of course. Most times were just bland, full of cheap cuts, etc. The sushi- OMG, it was awful. It's sad that many uneducated people probably ate their first sushi here and no wonder they don't care for it now. I give it a 3. Would have been a 4 but when i was done they tried to rush me out of there super fast. Dont know if its a cultural thing. Anyways, the food is pretty good. The beef was fresh and tender. I got the mongolian bbq option as well but the cooks dont speak english and my bbq noodles came out with no flavor. The sushi has nothing raw in it. Its all imitation crab variations. They have wings and bbq sticks. Everything was clean granted i showed up at 11 to eat. Not sure how it is later in the day. Not a great place to eat. My friends had heard this was a pretty good place to eat but I'd suggest otherwise. My family went to dinner on a Tuesday evening around 6 pm. The place was moderately busy but plenty of tables available. We got no direction as to seating or anyone getting us drinks. We kind of wandered in and figured it out. The food was sloppily prepared, nothing had great flavor, it felt like a sad church pot luck. The staff didn't seem to want to work and I'm glad I hadn't brought any friends along as this place would have been very embarrassing to take them to dinner. We won't likely be back. read more

Arrived shortly after they opened so the food was fresh. Real plates and silverware (instead of the Styrofoam plates and plastic warehouse at Peking Buffet - yay). Only complaint was their music choice in the dining room - loud distracting R&B (best guess) sounding like pained cats singing the scales and competing with diner noise. read more

I usually have decent service and meals here, Easter Sunday I took my son to eat as we don't have family holidays anymore and the food was all several hours old, dried out and nasty. My son didn't even want to eat, $24 for 2 plates of food that neither if us wanted. Came here for the first time after being told multiple times how good it was. Read the reviews and decided to find out for myself. Wrong move. Should've listened and skipped this place. The food in the buffet was piled so high there was no way it was staying warm and it tasted as much. A lot of the chicken dishes were tough and not easy to chew or swallow. There was very little flavoring and nearly everything was just bland. I decided to try the hibachi, in hopes that something that was just cooked would be better. Nope. The shrimp tasted metallic as if either the grill hadn't been cleaned in a while or they were just bad shrimp. Or both. Probably both. Nothing is labeled so you have no idea what you're getting and I asked one of the servers some basic information about seasoning and I couldn't get a straight answer. I went to get some shrimp looking item and it came up in a giant, gelatinous blob of goo. Put that right back. This place isn't worth trying again in the future, one and done and for anyone that raves or eats here often, good luck and God Bless. read more

I used to eat here ALL the time when I was working on my undergrad because everybody knows college kids don't have much cash. I stopped going about 7 years ago for whatever reason. At that time the food was great and was very cheap, with lunch specials at $5.50. Well, times have changed. Prices of everything have drastically increased, lunch menu is now $7.75 and the dine in buffet is $11 for lunch Does the food quality justify the price? Unfortunately not. I got the mongolian beef and the beef had a weird texture, like it was boiled first before stir fried. The sauce was very bland and no spice at all. I can say however that the fried rice and hot and sour soup were good but $7.75 for good rice and soup is by no means a good deal. The gentleman working the register was also incredibly rude. Can't say I would go back unfortunately. I'll stick to Empire Garden, Rice King, or China House for my Americanized Chinese food fix in the Maryville/Alcoa area. read more

I am 56, with that said, 2nd worst dining experience I've ever had. The only person who spoke english in the entire restaurant was the guy at the register, and he was rude to me. Most of the food was either VERY cold or VERY fatty. The chicken for the sweet and sour chicken was cold, the mongolian beef was fatty to the point that I had to actually trim fat off of the beef. The chicken for the bourbon chicken also had fat or skin still on it. Considering I paid $29.06 for me and my gf I am not happy with this restaurant at all and will never go back. Two other things i should mention, my GF got sick to her stomach after we ate there and they do not give any kind of a military or veteran discount. read more

For the life of me I can't understand why this place is packed. I have given this particular place multiple attempts at improving my impression of them; and every time they fall far below standard. This particular experience was the most frustrating I have had, a thus this place will not see my business. Because I am vegetarian, I was waiting to ask the sushi chef to make a simple vegetarian roll (cream cheese with avocado). I stood there patiently waited for his attention for 10-15 minutes. Along comes another customer, who happened to be male, getting his fix of sushi rolls. And the sushi chef smiles, greets him, and asks for the honor of making him more sushi (and the customer didn't even request anything). It blows my mind that someone could so blatantly ignore a deserving patron as myself. I can only guess it had to do with my race and my gender because I witnessed multiple females come to get sushi who were greeted with EYE ROLLS and no wish of friendly intros. Believe it or not, this has happened every time I've been here. It takes a lot for me to even write a review on Yelp, but today I feel it necessary to inform anyone who is curious. Judging by the constant flow of people into this place, I'm sure they won't miss my business. But I refuse to support somewhere that hires employees that treat their customers in this way. I was not impressed. Everything was a mystery as there was no labels on anything. What i picked I thought looked familiar but tasted nothing like it. Broccoli was cold in what appeared to be chicken an broccoli. The fried rice was just steamed rice with some veggies mixed in. I never could figure out the sesame chicken vs general tso as they both had no flavor. This Chinese buffet food is ok but the sushi and the sushi chef are terrible. I asked the server to ask the "chef" if he could make us a certian roll because I didn't think he understood us. He came up to me when I was standing by the hot buffet and started verbally attacking me saying we should have asked him. I had to ask him to get out of my face. I then went to the manager to tell him I was verbally attacked and the nut job came up and started screaming I need to talk to him if I had something to say. Its the same buffet like all the other average buffet. They have a habaichi grill, sushi bar and all the other norms on a buffet line. It was clean, neatly organized and new. My husband & I ate there tonight, it was a huge mistake we won't make again. The fried shrimp was cold & chewy. The fries tasted like they were on the bar all day. The bread sticks were hard as baseball bat, the chicken for the sweet & sour chicken was has hard, my husband tried to cut with a fork it went flying across the restaurant. He asked for a knife & never got one. Nothing on the bar was labeled. The employees were extremely rude. A guy who fills the pans on the bar literally pushed me away, I wasn't in his way I hadn't quite made it to the bar yet & he knew what he did but never said a word. I used to really enjoy this place. I wish that I could go back, but... This used to be one of the better Asian places in town, but the past two times we went there was a distinct odor in the back, near the kitchen entrance. The odor could best be described as sewage. Sewage. I smelled it on our visit about a month (October) back, and chalked it up to a bad day; pipes back up- it happens. I went back last week though, same thing. November 2017. Sewage smell in a restaurant. We won't be back. I guess that I could also mention that I liked most of the food items available here, I will particularly miss the coconut shrimp. But the carpets are now nasty, and the peel and eat shrimp is overcooked and mushy. And the sewage smell really puts the last nail in it for me. read more

I'm like the others when it comes to the average Asian buffet. Pretty much the same items. They sometimes have frog legs and other unique items but not frequent enough. We've ate here several times before and they are a little slow when it comes to refills. However this time was worth the review. While the food was average, the table we sat at was disgusting. Both seats were torn (worn out) and had been duct taped. Not with coordinating colors either, black tape on red seats. The table was broke so it wobbled the entire time. Both seats and table were covored in some sort of nasty, sticky mess. When I mentioned that our table was needing cleaned, the watress just said, "I'm sorry" and then walked off. By looking around it also appeared that other booths were in similar disrepair. read more
