I'd say it lacked a little salt but that's better than being over-salted. The portion was very large and filling. We got the veggie kothu roti ($10.50), the lentil curry ($10.90) and cabbage curry ($10.90, plus some samosas ($1.20 each) and Sri Lankan veggie rolls ($1.50 each). The curries come with rice and roti. The food took 45 minutes to be ready, which is kind of long, but it was ready waiting when they said it would be. The kothu was solid, though the roti had a somewhat rubbery character that I didn't recall from previous versions of kothu I'd tried. It was nicely spicy and was served with a side of spicy tomato-based gravy. Solid enough. 3.5/5 The lentil curry was decent, similar to an Indian dal, but pretty simple and without much flavour depth. Passable. 3/5 The cabbage curry was creamy and unlike anything I'd tried. Nicely spiced, but not overly interesting. 3/5 The samosas and veggie rolls were both tasty. The rolls especially had a very nice texture, with good flaky wrapping. For the price, this was a screamin' good deal. I wasn't blown away by the food quality though, and the menu is pretty limited in choice. Nice, helpful service, and it's great that they can cater to vegans.

My friend got their lamb vindaloo dosa which had lamb vindaloo filling in the dosa, it was spicy but I loved it!! For appetizer we got their fried bell peppers, so unique but pretty delicious. The recent rebrand ties it to the owners' Vancouver restaurant on Davie Street, but the heart of the operation remains the same: turning out some of the most satisfying Hakka food you'll find anywhere in the Lower Mainland. And that's saying something, because Vancouver doesn't exactly have an abundance of Hakka restaurants. The first thing that grabbed me was the Honey Chilli Chicken. This is one of those dishes that walks a tightrope and somehow never falls off. The heat comes first--sharp, immediate, insistent. Then the sweetness arrives just behind it, softening the edges without dulling the punch. The result is addictive. The same can be said for the honey chilli cauliflower, which proves once again that vegetables, when treated with a little respect and a lot of flavour, can be every bit as compelling as meat. But if there's a star here, it's the MOMOS. Too often, momos are treated as an afterthought--dense wrappers surrounding forgettable filling - but not here. The care and attention that goes into these dumplings is obvious from the moment they arrive at the table. The wrappers are remarkably thin and delicate, encasing a filling that releases an aromatic burst of broth when bitten into. In fact, they're closer in spirit to a **xiao long bao** than the momos many diners may be accustomed to. Steam transforms the filling into something rich and deeply savoury, creating a pocket of flavour. It's the kind of dish that reveals a kitchen obsessed with getting the details right. What makes Davie Dosa Company especially endearing is that it still feels like a discovery. The kind of place you stumble across and immediately start texting friends about. The kind of place you worry might become too popular if you talk about it too much. But good food deserves recognition and so does the family - husband, wife, and children all pitch in to ensure happy diners go home satisfied.. Davie Dosa has become one of my favourite Hakka restaurants in the Vancouver area--not because it's trendy or fashionable, but because it consistently delivers food made with care, technique, and a genuine understanding of flavour.
