    Chicken skewer
    Sandra S.

Located in the basement and has a cozy, intimate vibe that's perfect for a relaxed night out. Food: -Grilled Chicken Skewer: It was perfectly grilled, juicy, and tender. We wished we'd ordered more! -Pom & Sumac Hummus: Absolutely delicious. The pomegranate added just the right touch of tartness and sweetness. -Shish Barak: Just okay for me, but my husband loved it. He's a big fan of yogurt-based sauces. -Salmon: A little on the fishy side and slightly overcooked for my taste, but still tender and flavorful overall. Not particularly memorable, though. Loved the complimentary cucumber water. Service was very friendly, and overall I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.

This was such a good meal and the perfect stop for a work lunch. Because we were a big group, we did a family style menu. I actually love that because we got to try a little bit of everything. Some highlights for me were the feta, the hummus, the lamb, and the potatoes. I don't remember what the drink I had was called but it was steamed milk and rose water and it was soooo good!!! Service was friendly and quick and we had a great time. Everything came out from the kitchen as it was ready, so a nicely paced meal for socializing, too.

Cool underground entrance with an elegant Lebanese-inspired vibe. Very vegan-friendly. Shared a hummus plate and veggie dishes--delicious, with fun and interesting hummus flavors. Espresso martini was excellent.

Yummmm!!!! I didn't know Nuba had happy hour but so glad they do! We ordered the cold mezze, hot mezze and hummus trio. The food came with pitas and everything was so flavourful! My fav hummus was the pomegranate sumac one and the feta from the cold mezze plate was divine!!

It's a Lebanese restaurant and has 3 branches in Vancouver. I went to the gastown branch, has amazing ambience, very aesthetic and nice warm place. Super busy but you can find a spot here soon. Really loved the service at this restaurant. Extremely friendly, accommodating staff around. We were two so tried the feast of dips here which comes with different kinds of hummus flavours . These are beetroot, jalepeno, normal hummus and others. They give pita breads on the side which is a little cold. I wish they were a bit warm and buttery. Drinks menu also looked tempting. I found the dish okay not too great but it was indeed very fresh. I shall go for falafel platter next time. They do have good vegetarian options. But it's that perfect evening restaurant where you would like to sit down, relax and have dinner at.

Wow! This place was soooooo delicious! We got the fattoosh salad which was nice and light and tasty for the first course. We also ordered the flatbread which had great flavor and we paired it with a side of garlic. The brown rice and potatoes were super yummy!! The green sauce that came with my chicken plate was soooooooooooooo delicious! It had a nice spicy kick to it! Overall super happy with my visit there.

We saw a lot of good reviews online for Nuba so we're super excited to try this place. Parking is hard to find as it is all street-parking. We lucked out and were able to just park a block away. The restaurant is uniquely underground and dimly lit. Definitely a vibe. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. The whole restaurant is kind of on the line between fine dining and casual. The food was delicious and flavorful. However, it was pretty overpriced in my opinion. Each entree felt like an appetizer-sized dish. If you are trying to be full after a meal, this is not the restaurant to be at. If you want to try new flavors and kind of experience Mediterranean/Lebanese Cuisine then this is a wonderful place to start.

Vegetarian Mezze Platter for two was absolutely delish!

Last month, my hubs and I came to Vancouver for a 3-day vacay and we ate at Nuba for our last meal before driving back to Seattle. What a fantastic send-off meal! We shared the Vegetarian Mezze Platter and enjoyed it all except the pita bread which was just meh. Take a look at my hubs' photos--I really think he did the food justice. The restaurant is in a basement but it is remarkably chill, cozy, and spacious all at the same time. It's a beautiful place to have a leisurely lunch on a weekday. I was also impressed by how nice the bathroom was. Service was great and friendly, although it was hard to find someone to give us our bill at the end since a huge group came in about 5-10 minutes before we finished. But we understood and it was not a problem. Highly recommend Nuba Gastown. We will definitely be back!

Not only is the service amazing and very attentive, but the food is so very flavorful! The falafel plate was one of the vegan options and delicious! The restaurant is cozy and ambiance tops it all off.

Accidentally stumbled to this underground vibrant gem filled with lots of folks and incredible Lebanese dishes. Loved the babaghanoush with its unique citrus tang! Such a fun off the beaten path non-tourist find! Shhhhhh!!!!

This is my second time coming to Nuba when visiting Vancouver and I have to stay it stays up to my expectations and I cannot wait to come back. The food here is just so flavorful and the drinks are all spectacular. This time around I have to admit that I had a plate that was very flavorless, but I think that the other good food I had outweighed that bad dish. they also carry Flor De Caña rum which is so delicious and they make beautiful and tasty cocktails! The service here is always great. Chicken skewers were a 5/5 perfectly marinated and juicy. They have a messy plate where you can try a bunch of different appetizers, such as hummus, baba ghanoush, etc. that was 5/5. All of the cocktails that I had were 5/5. Lastly, the fish dish was 0/5. It had absolutely no flavor. All in all I would return.

    Chicken shish tawook

Got a chicken shish tawook, would recommend! It comes with pita. The pita is good! It's thinner and more chewy. Great vibes and great restaurants with friends or even for dates

We loved the food here. Beau and I shared a mixed platter of amazing food. The lamb was undeniably the star. Each dish has a distinct, spicy, aromatic flavor. Even the broccoli (not usually a fan) was lemony and a so good. I think the babaganoush was the best I've ever had and I order it whenever it is offered. Even the hummus schmear on our plate was creamy and delectable. How did they get the shrimp to taste so good? Winner.I am so glad they squeezed us in late night on some random Wednesday! This was one of our top meals on our three week trip!!

Our bill for the most expensive and unappetizing Lebanese food we had in Vancouver BC

Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner and we were delighted. We ordered the Chefs Special Sampler for 2 - basically giving us a sampler of everything on the menu for $90 per person. We were really really full and couldn't finish it all. Highlights: - Chickpea Fetteh: warm delightful mixture of ground meat, chickpea sauce, with soaked pita at the bottom and crispy stuff in it. It just explodes with flavour and texture. - dip sampler: the hummus and eggplant mutabbah were really good but that pocket pita bread was out of this world good. Even the tabbouleh was good and my wife normally hates that. - the lamb tartare was AMAZING. It was kneaded so soft that it was practically a paste. When you combine it with the nuts and red spicy sauce and eat it with bread the combo is winning. - grilled Kibbeh and regular kibbeh - both really delightful - the grilled meat plate was great. In particular the chicken with the garlic tahini was really flavourful. The kabob mushrooms and peppers on top of smoked baba ganoush was soo good. Loved the smoke flavour. They finished by serving us baklava sampler which was all really good. From start to finish this is an experience for the ages.
