I ordered 3 piece whole wings, with 2 sides. Baked beans and southern greens. I ordered the peach cobbler à la mode and was happy the cashier recommended I pay first and they would bring it out when I was ready to eat it. - she did just that, without my prompting. I ordered the spice level HOT and it was good and spicy. If you don't like spice, get the medium spice level. The sweet tea and the in house made lemonade tasted awesome. I refilled 3 times... but also because they had the best ice My friend had the tenders and said they were very good as well along with the banana pudding! The resturant was clean and accommodates large groups as well. I did not like the baked beans but my friend did so they did not go to waste.

That…read morediscomfort can come in a variety of shapes and if it occurs in Nashville, it's likely to be in the form of ordering hot chicken at an overwhelmingly crazy spice level without fully comprehending what just happened. And what better place to experience such a moment than Hattie B's, a local family fun institution. Started in 2012 by a father and son duo, this is the original location of the establishment despite many other outposts now present through the southern US. Now, back to the spice level. Beyond the standard selections, there are extreme variants like Damn Hot! and Shut the Cluck Up! That's where things get really interesting, because survival instincts always get tested when things are not standard. Those levels are not for the faint of heart. The hot chicken here is legitimately phenomenal regardless of level chosen and the tenders are the most famous cut. The pimento Mac and cheese and the bacon grits are not to be missed as sides. Maybe, just maybe, what separates Hattie B's is the mom and pop feeling of the establishment despite becoming ridiculously popular with tourists. The people taking orders are so nice and enjoy a conversation despite the massive line. All around, Hattie B's hits the spot.

What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be. Nashville Jam sits inside an older converted home. It's not much to look at from the outside, very quaint inside, and a real surprise from a culinary perspective. There wasn't an item served to our table that I wouldn't have been happy with, since I took a bit of a sampling from each of the kids pancakes and my daughter's fried green tomatoes wrap, but my Three Fungi Benedict, that was to die for, and yes, you could pick up the various flavors. Our server, while new to the Jam Cafe, was terrific. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and this spot, is an absolute gem!

The restaurant itself is a little tight, but it goes with being an authentic Nashville spot. There is also outdoor seating. Parking options include street parking and a lot in the back.

We sat at the oyster bar, which was a cool spot to watch the kitchen in action. We ordered the whiskey rebellion and the gold rush for a drink - both good, but the whiskey rebellion was definitely better. We started with the octopus and smoked fish dip - both absolute must do's! The octopus was so unique - lightly fried and was served similar to calamari. The smoked fish dip was so fresh and flavorful - not your run of the mill smoked dip! For the entrees, we had the mussels and fettuccine with a side of carrots. Mussels were good, but as expected with this dish. The fettuccine was seriously fantastic - you gotta try this one! Living just a couple blocks away, I am excited to have a new favorite within a stone's throw. Can't wait to go back and order new things!

There was only one wood fired oyster option - green curry oyster - which was delicious. We ordered two plates of it. We each ordered a drink which was $10 because of happy hour, we decided to add the gnocchi after seeing the table next to us order it and it was delicious and after the oysters the perfect meal to split between the two of us. Service was great, everyone was super helpful and we were celebrating a birthday and the menu had Happy Birthday on it. The restaurant was about 50% full and filling up as we ate but still quiet and cozy. Would recommend and would definitely return for the oysters!

Didn't feel like I was right in the heart of bustling East Nashville - felt like a little retreat. The service was great and so patient with us as we were quite indecisive. Especially since it was a new menu and there were no pics online (then I totally forgot to take pics to help future yelpers not fall to my fate, alas!). I landed on the French Toast Bread Pudding. It was quite heavenly, but I do wish it was a bit bigger for the price... My friends both got the Avocado Toast and a few of us ordered sides of chicken sausage (and yeah, that was good and they were also a good size, plus 3 links were included in each order). We finished quite quickly but were in a deep convo about who knows what, but never felt rushed to leave (probs as it was kind of between service times, but still, appreciated). Def need to go back for Dinner and another little retreat!

The grits were so hearty and buttery, and the shrimp had a good amount of spice. We also got the sweet potato chorizo hash, which had the perfect amount of slight heat and special spice blend. (The spices looked red, but I don't know what they were other than paprika??) Both dishes came with biscuits, generously buttered. We were told the biscuits and gravy were special, because the chef does a brown gravy instead of the white gravy. We felt like we had enough food, but if I am ever back in town, I'd try this dish. Parking wasn't too bad unless you have mobility issues. Despite their whole thing being NY-style bagels, I actually selected a Reuben on Pumpernickel. I wasn't feeling like eating a whole bunch of whipped cream cheese or a chicken salad. Portion sizes were pretty good, actually. I think the main things for me would be to simplify the menu and offer size options. Something like half a bagel or like a "classics variety" (like a variety cheesecake). So you could pick and choose quarters or maybe thirds. I was happy to see they had savory cream cheese options because they are so underrated. I also got their honey lavender lemonade which was fire and not too sweet. The staff were all great and it is clearly a pretty popular spot. Overall no issues and I will probably go again.

I tried this place 3 years ago when I was passing through Nashville on my way to Texas. I loved the grilled cheese so much I had to stop again on my way back through Nashville. Thankfully, the quality and taste of the food has not changed since my last visit 3 years ago. Which is an unfortunate common situation. Everyone in my party ordered something different, so I was lucky enough to try a bit of everyone's food. As I said before, I got the pimento mac and cheese grilled cheese, it was the perfect blend of all flavors. Others got the classic grilled cheese which had massive cheese pulls, and chicken pesto grilled cheese. They have a milkshake bar with a variety of flavors, the restaurant is designed in that classic "old school diner" style. The milkshakes were big, they even give you the extra that doesn't fit in the mug. Everyone in my party had raving reviews which only confirmed that this place has not changed. Will be looking forward to coming back here on my next visit.
