In no way was this a normal, run of the mill home sale - so please take the time to read through all the details to see just how amazing Joseph and Kelly are. I cannot recommend them strongly enough !! Due to some health issues of a family member living in Youngstown, Ohio, we knew we had to move that person back to Wisconsin to be near family. So, logistically, we knew we had a lot to try and solve relative to the family member's home. After researching the top-rated real estate agents in the Youngstown area, based on other impressive reviews, I contacted Kelly. It was a cold call out to them and since I had not personally been to the home, I had relatively few details to provide. Within a day, they had contacted me back and set up a call to talk through what details I could provide to them about listing the house. From the outset, they were caring and considerate of how difficult the path we were navigating was for every family member involved. After talking about our scheduled trip to come to Ohio, they set a time to meet with us in person to walk through the house while we were there. I thought that would be about the last I'd need to speak with them, but I was so wrong - and as I began to find out - they were more than your typical 100% full service real estate agents. When you must clean out a house, get ready to move a person's possessions and need to make arrangements to do all of it remotely, there are so many plans and people to contact, and I didn't have the first clue who or where to start. Thankfully, for each question below, Kelly and Joseph provided me with names and numbers of people to ask: 1. Where could I get dumpsters from - three different options were given 2. Where could we bring donations from the house - four options were given 3. Who handled recycling - three options were given 4. What options did they have for lawncare services - four options given 5. Were there options to have a company come in and clean out the house for us - 3 options Bear in mind, all of these questions I had were being answered BEFORE we ever met with Kelly and Joseph in person. If it's possible, I think they were even more impressive when we did meet with them and then all the way through the very quick sale. Why was the experience so excellent? * They let me pick a time to meet with them that worked around the five people's schedules I had to juggle - that's such great flexibility. * They were right on time - did the walk through of the house quickly AND thoroughly - and they had real attention to detail as they went along. * Within a few minutes of finishing the walk through, they sat down and SUPER clearly laid out possible courses of action for us to consider relative to selling the house. * They provided clear estimates for selling the house in different ways - again immediately during this meeting. It was clear they had done their homework and were VERY well prepared to meet with us. At no point did I wonder whether or not I was in good hands - I honestly believed I had chosen the perfect team for our situation based solely on their actions and readiness. They gave us time to absorb all they had told us and set up time to return later in the weekend so we could ask any other questions that came up in our group. They were NOT pushy and did not pressure us AT ALL. Given the situation, they could have easily tried to lowball or convince us to do something quick that could have benefitted them - but it never happened. We left Ohio on a Sunday and by that same week Wednesday, our listing was ready to go - and by the weekend, we were receiving multiple offers. Of course, they helped us navigate the many offers and literally were responding to texts and emails within minutes - it was phenomenal. Because we were no longer in Ohio - everything had to be done electronically - which I have done in my life now, but the 83-year-old family member we moved back and his 80-year-old sister had not, and they needed to sign all the documents. Now, many of you may have older family members who are not very computer saavy- and our family was no different - again an 80- and 83-year-old in the mix. But Joseph was incredible with his patience and answering all their questions. On more than one occasion he was texting with them and/or getting on the phone with them (and I) to explain how all the electronic forms and signature processes worked. He made what would normally have been a very stressful situation a very calm and routine experience. His support continued all the way through the title company process where he never seemed at all bothered that we were asking him questions that we later found out were questions that actually needed to go to the person at the title company. I was blessed with an opportunity to accept a new job that would bring us from NY to Northeast…read moreOhio. Selling a house is the easy part; finding the perfect new house to buy is the challenge. It's especially difficult when you are unfamiliar with the area and trying to find and purchase a house remotely while out of state. We found the dynamic duo of Jenna Koontz and Rich Feezle, of all places, on YouTube! We were trying to learn more about the area and kept searching YouTube videos, not for houses or realtors, but for general tips about the community. We kept coming across the same two faces, Jenna and Rich! We just knew, "We want them to be our buying agents in Ohio!" We came to visit one weekend and in hindsight, we realize that Rich and Jenna were showing us homes over an immensely large area! All was not for waste, though. In the process, we came to learn various communities and honestly, the pictures of a home online are never what it looks like in real life. That goes in both directions. We had some 5-star "wows" on our list based on online listings only to be severely disappointed in person. Conversely, we had some "ho hum" 3-star homes on our list that in person were stunning, but just not right. After a grueling, long day, we found THE ONE! Our dream home. We immediately went back to the office and wrote an offer. After multiple iterations, it was ours! As expected, Jenna and Rich were AMAZING!! Every step of the way. Their knowledge. Their expertise. Their enthusiasm. Their empathy and support. Empathy and support? Well, yes. As much as I would love to say the deal went smoothly, we ran into multiple situations where either the seller and/or his agent were stonewalling us, even on move-in day! Yet, through it all, Rich and Jenna were always on our side and literally, by our side. The bottom line is that we were right about Jenna Koontz and Rich Feezle all along. We picked the absolute best agents one could ask for along all the trials and tribulations of this purchase. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our dream home and are most thankful for these two for making our dream come true. It goes without saying that we HIGHLY recommend Jenna and Rich (Rich and Jenna) for ALL of your real estate needs. They are absolute rock stars. I also want to thank the upper management of Howard Hanna who stepped in and stepped up to make things right when one of their own (selling agent) was dropping the ball. Even though Rich and Jenna were our primary points of contact, I received unsolicited calls from several HH managers and vice-presidents. Every organization has its bad apples, and the selling agent was clearly one of them. However, the Howard Hanna team made sure that he didn't sour the whole bunch. Thank you Jenna and Rich! Thank you Howard Hanna! Perfect examples of the perfect realtors.
