We called David and to our surprise he came the same day to address several laptop and printer issues. All were resolved in less than one hour. He was fun to talk to/with. Can I give 10 stars? I called Dave to get help for an elderly friend who couldn't connect to the internet. Dave went over the same day, fixed the problem, and then helped my friend reply to emails. Service above and beyond the call of duty. And then we he learned that a chain store had ripped off my friend, selling him stuff he didn't need, Dave worked to get my friend a refund. I called Dave for a quote to repair my laptop because I damaged the screen. As I explained how I damaged it and what my now unreadable screen looked like, Dave kindly explained the costs to repair my laptop screen. I quickly realized that this was no inexpensive fix, and that I could almost buy another computer for the cost of the repair...BUT, Dave suggested that if I had another monitor, I could simply use a cord to pair my laptop computer (which still works fine) to another monitor. I have a smart tv and so "Voila", for a mere $19.95 HDMI cord, I have full use of my laptop using my tv screen. I don't even need to buy another monitor right away. This is a follow-up to my review of 11/21/12 concerning Mr. Richardson's business and business practices. David Richardson has made 3 home calls to address my computer needs since my initial review of 11/21/12 - he was supposed to come and address an issue with my home/office printer on 03/03/14 at 5PM - the man NEVER SHOWED UP!!! He NEVER CALLED to offer any explanation as to why he hadn't kept the appointment and has not offered any explanation thus far! I attempted to phone him on 03/03/14 once 5:15PM came around and he was a no show - only to find that Mr. Richardson had shut his answering service off of his cell phone!!! He has done this sort of thing before when he is dealing with past clients that he doesn't want to be bothered to provide service to based on his own personal or religious biases - but doesn't come right out and tell them that he doesn't want to provide them with service because he is afraid of a discrimination suit being filed against him by some card-carrying member of the ACLU, HRC or the Freedom From Religion Foundation! Mr. Richardson's conduct is not only unprofessional - it is just flat-out wrong! I am an individual with a physical disability and I think Mr. Richardson's conduct speaks volumes in regards to his professed "Christian" ethics! I also think that it is VERY IMPORTANT to mention that Mr. Richardson installed a FAKE Windows 7 operating system that he had stored on a flash drive and used on my computer during one of his service calls to my home, I just didn't fully understand that was what he had done at that time. I called him on the phone about 2 weeks after the installation of the fake Windows 7 to ask him why I was repeatedly getting a message on the right side of my screen stating that the Windows 7 that I was using was NOT a GENUINE copy of Windows 7 as published by Microsoft. Of course, he offered me some dismissive, lame excuse! He already had his fees from me - so he could've cared less. I would advise against letting Mr. Richardson use any of his flash drives - or thumb drives as he prefers that term - in any USB on any computer - as they might get a fake Windows program as well - or worse - malware added to their computer. Be advised that this repair service advertises under Rich Ideas Computer Repair and also as At Home Computer Repair. All I can say about this computer repair service and its proprietor is caveat emptor. I really think David Richardson just needs to take a Pemberton Sleigh Ride straight out of Dodge. read more
