Found Nathan through yelp and google and once I checked out his web site - I knew I had to book a session with him. Wow. I have been getting massages for 30+ years and most have been 'just okay'. The worse is getting a therapist who only goes through the motions and you can tell their heart just isn't in it. Right away, I could tell Nathan was professional, knowledgable and passionate about his work. He communicates well and lets you know what he's doing and why. Checks in regularly with your comfort level and pressure being used throughout. I made an appointment for a 75 min. deep tissue for body issues that have cropped up from dealing with plantar fasciitis for 4 months. After an in-depth conversation he recommended the athletic performance massage session. Believe me, I'm in no way an athlete (and I'm 62), but this session was perfect for my needs. If you have never had a massage before or you are a regular, you will love his work! I told him that I would describe his techniques as thorough and detailed. It is just about impossible to find someone who massages like this. His space is welcoming, clean and quiet. I kind of hesitated writing this review because it's just a matter of time before he is inundated with clients. I don't want to share!

However, when he called me after and told me what happened, I thought he was pulling my leg. He told me CiCi (spelling) did a great job. She asked him medium or hard and he said hard. She did great. He went to pay and left a 20% tip. She pulled out her phone and typed 'tip too little," and flexed on him 3 times through the massage and at the end when he paid. He was caught off guard and left her another $20. I work for tips and get that sometimes we don't get what we think is reasonable, but that is distasteful calling out people for more money.

That way, he's able to give just the right pressure to coax the muscles into relaxing. It's way more effective than just digging in the elbow and hoping for the best (which in my experience often just results in the muscles tensing up even more).
