*** PSA: Beware "Chels" the nasty, vicious, vile Receptionist ***…read more * A classic case of kindness & courtesy versus idiotic insolence * 1 ~ Pet peeve? Customers who don't wait to be called. 2 ~ Common courtesy? I always wait to be called. ~ She may need a few minutes to document some things, first. ~ She's an adult. Let me treat her with an adult's courtesy. 3 ~ Chelsea's response? "Thank you for your patience."??? Not so much. Try an exasperated, impatient, sarcastic, scolding "I'll take the next customer. Just READ THE SIGNS, folks." She was evidently referring to the "Open" sign, which of course read "Open" for the previous 10 minutes, when she'd been waiting on the previous customer. Nothing had changed, and she was literally hidden behind an enormous partition, so common courtesy compelled me to presume nothing, and to kindly await her. I can't read minds, you see, nor see through partitions. And yet her tone CLEARLY conveyed that she imagined herself to be dealing not with a Gentleman, but with an idiot. Ironically, she was correct. She was only mistaken in how closely the idiot was sitting. * The Doc and others were excellent.

Dr. Aslam is amazing! Every experience we have had with her has been informative and we've felt…read moreheard. She really is interested in you as a patient and as a person. Between my own appointments and those with my children I have seen all the practice doctors and would recommend that you ONLY book appointments with Dr. Aslam. I wish she had her own practice outside Dover Eye Care. I have had so many frustrating experiences with the rest of the staff over the years and am finally cutting ties. You need an appointment for EVERYTHING at this practice but I am not sure why because they NEVER take you at your appointment time. I have never waited less than 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment to be seen.... for ANY reason. Picking up new glasses (if they actually call you to let you know they are ready), appointment. Need an adjustment on your glasses? Appointment. Need to pick up contacts? Appointment. Need to drop off glasses to be worked on while you do other errands? Appointment - even though they tell you you can just drop them off and chances are they won't call you to let you know they are ready. Multiple times I needed to stop by before closing time and the doors were locked more than 5 minutes before the posted closing time. Their automated notification system is a joke. Receiving notice that contact were ready DAYS after I had picked them up. And, I only knew they were ready because I was at the office for another family member and asked if they were in. Their system for "appointments" for glasses pick up, fittings, glasses selection (or other non-doctor reasons) is mind boggling. Your name is written on a dry-erase card and disappears into the back rooms for at least 20 minutes while people who came in after you (who also were given dry erase "appointment" cards) are seen first. Many times I have asked for itemized receipts for insurance purposes. Their standard receipt is just that you paid x dollars. It has taken multiple phone calls to get the office staff to provide what other doctor's offices initially provide. If you value your time and being respected as a patient stay clear of this practice.
