Four months later If these guys were around fifteen years ago my mother wouldn't have gone blind. Dr. Beck has been treating me to prevent macular degeneration. I don't understand how it works but I have had zero floaters and the magnified screenshots of the water in my macular degeneration has diminished impressively. Obviously I am saying more than I actually know. Also their staff is very professional quickly review my meds and do the eye chart thing using some sort of projector to mirror thing instead of a paper eye chart. I thought they were teasing me after the first three or four lines. They asked me to read. I was sure there was nothing. So I took a pic with my new eye phone and mag died it. Just READ THE SIGNS, folks." She was evidently referring to the "Open" sign, which of course read "Open" for the previous 10 minutes, when she'd been waiting on the previous customer. Nothing had changed, and she was literally hidden behind an enormous partition, so common courtesy compelled me to presume nothing, and to kindly await her. I can't read minds, you see, nor see through partitions. And yet her tone CLEARLY conveyed that she imagined herself to be dealing not with a Gentleman, but with an idiot. Waited over a year for my sons appointment (referral put in 7/25), spoke to several people at the office on multiple occasions to schedule/reschedule (initial appt 5/26, rescheduled for 9/26), received a call today (DAY OF APPOINTMENT) saying they needed to "reschedule because of my sons diagnosis". Called back to reschedule, said they couldn't schedule him because they don't provide pediatric care. He was a child a year ago too and every time I called after that (he's 5). We were told the wait was so long BECAUSE of this. This practice's poor quality (and lack of comprehension??) has resulted in a SIGNIFICANT delay in getting my son treatment. Who knows how long it'll take to be seen elsewhere since we're having to start from scratch over a year in. read more

I'm diabetic and go in once a year for my exam. My appointment was scheduled for next Friday. They call to tell me the doctor won't be in that date and needs to be rescheduled. Next available appointment is Dec 18th. Are you kidding me??? Nothing available for 6 months, no waiting list to put me on. read more

Waited months for appointment. Took time off of work. They had all of my insurance information on file when I scheduled the appointment. Showed up to appointment and was told their Somersworth office where they booked me won't take my insurance and I have to go to their Kittery office. Rather than wait another few months to be seen and take more time off work I'll go elsewhere. Very unprofessional and unhelpful at checkin. read more

I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early. I was greeted and checked in. I waited another 10 minutes or so. Then I was escorted to a Laser Room to await my procedure with Dr. Sears. In my initial session with the Dr., he described the way things would go for the laser to reduce the pressure in my eyes. "Your eyes will be numb so you won't feel anything." As I remained in the laser room, 30 minutes went by, nobody, no doctor. After another 20 minutes, -another patient was brought into a room across from me. As the Technician began to walk away without a word, I asked him when would the Dr.be in for my procedure- I have been here for an hour! He apologized and said the Dr. was attending to some emergencies. I then replied, 'It would have been nice if someone had come to let me know that an hour ago!' He apologized for that and within another 5 minutes, the Dr. showed up. Who also began apologizing for taking advantage of my time. Very dissatisfied with this appointment. The procedure was very painful at certain times and when it was finished; there was no way I could drive home! I realize different people have different results & may be more sensitive to pain than others. In any case, my experience was not one of satisfaction. read more

I was scheduled for a refraction and contact lens appointment at 7:30 am 5-26-2026. I arrived on time and was advised the appointment had been changed to August, in Portsmouth, after receiving a confirmation test message on Sunday 5-24-2026. I asked if they didn't think to notify the patient of an appointment change. No answer. The receptionist wrote an appointment card for the August appointment. I said, no, that does not work and asked for a call back later in the day. No call. I left a message requesting a return call from the office manager. No call, today I spend a total of 17 minutes on hold as call number 1 and spoke with Debbie today, who then said the August appointment in Portsmouth was the earliest they had. Very shoddy customer service. This was after a semi-emergent appointment with Dr. Szmyd in the Portsmouth office on 5-21-2026. He was wonderful, the office was great and the experience was totally different. Zero stars for Somersworth. read more

It has been a nightmare. They are a bunch of liars. Dr. Peters put an untrue statement on his notes I told him just the opposite. They never talk to you just at you or the technician. So unprofessional. I was told that I had Dry Eye the day before my cataract surgery. That was Dr. Peters, I was ten sent to Dr. Hammer a very nice lady, She told me i would see 20/20 after my new glasses, however I se no difference from my old glasses. I have been doing their suggested eye drops for almost a year now and all they did was hurt my eyes and I tried different ones, I was told to take them 4 times a day, I had a difficult time remembering because they all hurt my eyes. Then finally Dr. Kavanaugh sent me to the Dry Eye Clinic and they drops were not doing anything for my condition which is Neurotrophic keratitis, Stop doing eyedrops. I'm told to go on Oxervate and to call the as soon as I hear from the pharmacy which was yesterday. I have been calling since yesterday morning and no one gets back to me. What a screwed up place. read more

I recently had laser surgery on my right eye by Dr Sullivan. He did an awesome job. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I had retina surgery on that eye about a year ago with Dr Beck who is also awesome! I also had cataract surgery done by Dr Bartolini in Portsmouth. She was kind and friendly.The whole entire staff were respectful and kind. I would recommend Eyesight Ophthalmology for all your eye care needs! read more

Dr. Sullivan is curt, arrogant and disrepectful. I walked away from my appointment feeling intimidated and uninformed. I'll never go back.

Do not take your elder parent to Dr. Sullivan. He is abrupt, disrespectful, and humiliated my 97 year old mother. I was appalled with how he didn't listen while she tried to express her medical history, his impatience, and arrogance. I have never had such a bad experience with a medical professional before. She was traumatized by the event and I was told by the nurses at her care facility she is not talking or looking at anyone since she returned. If I could give a minus 100 stars I would. read more

I felt it very important to share my experience with Dr. Lauren McLoughlin from Eyesight NH. Over the past 2 1/2 months she has countless times gone above and beyond to address the issues with my vision. Prior to this, I was seeing another Dr. who did not deep dive into what was really going on and instead of giving me a bunch of drops to try and tell me to "give it time" she explored in depth to diagnosis the situation and came up with an action plan to correct it. It's been quite a process but I am now on my way to finally having my vision restored and it simply would not have happened had it not been for all the time and attention she has given. I knew the minute I walked in and started having different assessment methods that things were going to be much more state of the art than previous offices I had visited. I was never rushed out no matter how many questions I had and from the front desk to everyone I've interacted with I have been truly given the best care. I am so fortunate to have found her and throughly confident that her education & expertise have put me on the path to restoring my eyesight. read more

Nice enough doctor but in my opinion ...very inept. I bought glasses based on the prescription they wrote and they were unusable. I wondered why so compared it with an old prescription and it was so different I couldn't believe it. Will never use them again. read more

I've given this service provider several tries and today will be my last. I also have been given a prescription for glasses that was incorrect and well below the script that I currently had. They were more than happy to blame my not being able to see on my not purchasing the glasses with them as they were not one of my insurance providers. After suffering from my first vitreous detachment, I was sent to two different doctors within 3 visits as they were not retina specialists and wanted the different opinions. Very little was explained to me but I was told it should be resolved within 6 months. It was not so I went to Mass Eye and Ear where I was told that it might take a lot longer to settle down or might not improve at all without surgery. Two year later I've had a second vitreous detachment. I was seen by Dr. Sullivan on the day it happened. He was condescending and talked around me to the "girls" in the office. It was such negative experience that I requested a different doctor for the follow up appointment. The visit was extremely rushed and it was only after I insisted on asking the questions I had that Dr. Golblatt answered them as he was walking out the door. The tone and being rushed again felt patronizing and I will not go back. Mass Eye and Ear is worth the ride after treatment like this! read more

After coming here for about 25 years, my doc left and the new one is a poor replacement. So impersonal. They treated eyeballs, not a person today. Rushed through the exam, dilated my pupils but didn't ask ifI had sunglasses, the tech never introduced herself, no one asked if I had any questions. Will be seeking an alternative for next year's exam. Such a shame. read more

Need cataract surgery? If so, you want to be with Dr. Timothy Peters. His bedside manner is impeccable. He's kind, friendly, concerned, attentive. There was a mix-up between the hospital scheduler and Eyesight Ophthalmic Services' scheduler, which occurred just before the weekend when we were to start the preoperative drops in his first eye. One had him being operated on his left eye, the other on the right. We had no clue as to which eye to treat. On Saturday morning, realizing the mix-up and being unsure, I phoned and got the answering service. Within 5 minutes, Dr. Peters phoned me back and suggested that we put the drops in both eyes just for the weekend and call Monday to the office to straighten it out. He also offered to provide sample drops if we got low on them owing to the extra treatment to one eye. It was the perfect solution. When I phoned the office on Monday, the staff had already contacted the hospital scheduler and all was resolved. On the day of surgery, Dr. Peters will talk to you both before and after at the hospital and ensure that you understand what's going to happen next. My husband has never been a good patient; he's nervous around health issues, especially his own. But Dr. Peters helped him to feel relaxed and reassured. My husband sailed through surgery on each eye and marveled at how much better he was seeing within a couple of days of each operation. We highly recommend Dr. Peters and the staff at Eyesight Ophthalmic Services, who, for the most part, were friendly and helpful. read more
