I have been going to Dr Rich for a few weeks for adjustments etc., and in the meantime I started having shoulder pain owing to swimming related injuries. If I have to describe him in 1 word, I will just say he is a 'Magician'! I have no idea how he does what he does but my shoulder pain just disappeared. I do not generally believe in "quick fixes" and "magic bullets". However... that being said Dr. Rich was able to assess my issue and in only 3 visits did in fact provide me with a magic bullet - a specific exercise and some related stretches that resolved my 3-year old orthopedic issue. I work on my feet all day and one morning had very intense back pain. I needed an emergency chiropractic visit. These guys were closed but took us in either way which was very nice of them. Thought chiropractor was very kind but I spent 45 minutes total doing minimal stretches, he showed me a few stretches on a YouTube channel for me to do at home and he used a hand held massager on me for few minutes. I then got the check for $135! My insurance didn't cover anything so I expected it to cost a little more. But for the work he had done it was 100% not worth the money. I always see Rich when I periodically "throw out my back". Each time I'm prepared to hear bad news and a prescription for multiple visits to literally get me back on my feet. Each time Rich is able to assess my situation with a quick exam focusing on which muscle groups are firing and not firing, leading to my "lock up" and collapse. He carefully explains which muscle groups are working and not working and then guides me through exercises (not usually adjustments) that immediately relieve my pain and dramatically improve my strength and flexibility within minutes. It's proof of his point that the human body is a map of coordinated muscle groups that work together and give him clues to what is firing properly and not. I'm a cyclist, I'm getting older, and I went to see Rich because my right side SI joint hurt all the time, and despite years of yoga and stretching and PT, it was just stuck. Talking to Rich is easy, and he takes everything into account, not just the stuck SI joint. Stuff like, plantar fasciitis on that side. And IT band pain, on that side. And piriformis syndrome, on that side. Oh, and the 10-year-old knee replacement, on that side. He said maybe I wasn't the 250 piece puzzle. Maybe the 500. Probably the 1000. And that it would take several sessions. Our journey led from one thing to another until we finally figured knee replacement = limited quad stretch = limited ability to use the whole quad maybe = stuck SI joint. He showed me several exercises including the Foundation lunge decompression which I did daily for a week. It opened up my right side hip flexor and the quad. Next time after warming up my back with heavy vibration and heat, Rich was able to adjust that SI joint and voila: no more pain. It's gone. That was 2 weeks ago. It's still gone. It took 5 sessions. Rich Cimadoro is a prince. His back treatment programs are like nothing I have seen at any other Chiropractor office. He combines specialized stretching, exercises and adjustments to resolve difficult cases that no-one else can solve. You can sample his stretches on Sunday morning with his warm up at the Pacers at Wildwood park. He is obsessed with learning new techniques and putting new ideas into practice. He is kind hearted and puts his undivided attention on his patients. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve optimum health, so much so that about a year ago he started a free community exercise program, the Thousand Oaks Pacers. He meets every Saturday and takes people through his 12 week program. Non runners and people who are completely out of shape start by walking 5 minutes, then they run very slowly for a minute. At the end of just 12 weeks they are able to run 5 miles without difficulty. If your conditioning level is beyond the beginner level, you can train with him at higher levels, including half and full Marathons. He is an accomplished athlete and just qualified to run the Boston Marathon! He is also a very accomplished bicycle racer giving him a keen understanding of athletic injuries and the athlete psyche. Dr. Cimadoro is a hands on, patient, and extremely knowledgeable chiropractor. I have been seeing him since 2009 for issues with overuse problems related to cycling. In 2012, Dr. Cimadoro was able to diagnose a rare condition I had (endofibrosis) that other medical doctors couldn't. He was able to refer me to a vascular specialist that eventually operated and solved my issue. I feel that if it were not for Dr. Cimadoro's patience and listening, I would still have the issue today. He is obviously highly recommended. read more
