Fun Fact: There are 206 bones in the adult human body. Well... I just happen to have 207! And if you have a sense of humor like me; you just might have that extra bone as well... That is, if you can stand the pain ;) More on this later. True Story: I was sitting at the dining room table the other day and my 6 year old daughter came up to me and said, "Daddy, do you know how many bones are in the human body?" I looked at her clueless and said, "No, how many are there?" She said, "two hundred and six" Of course I believed her, but just to make sure... I said, "Alexa, how many bones are In the human body?" And just like that, Alexa confirmed... There are indeed 206 bones. I guess no more second guessing my 6 year old! But then with a serious face, I looked at my oldest daughter and said, "but what about the funny bone??" She looked at me like I was nuts. But for those of us that have ever accidentally whacked our elbow on something and felt a little numbing tingle... You know exactly where I'm going with this... Well last month, I was experiencing some mild back pain that just wasn't going away on its own, so I decided to check out The Joint Chiropractic. I went to a different chiropractor years back and I always remembered that after getting adjusted, the pain I was feeling at the time slowly got better after a few visits so I knew seeing a chiropractor again might just do the trick. So after talking with my sister-in-law who swears by chiropractors, she told me to check out the place that she goes to in Newbury Park. So I picked up the phone and I was able to secure an appointment that same week. The Joint has a special for first time patients for only $29 which includes the consultation, the exam and the adjustment. (This is definitely a great deal) After your initial visit, you can either pay each time you go or they have a monthly plan so you can have regular visits at a discounted rate. The staff up front is friendly and professional and the Chiropractor I saw worked his magic to get me realigned which helped relieve the pain I was having in my back. As for those who have yet to see a Chiropractor in fear of the popping sound of joints or the mild discomfort... Came in today because my back and neck were really stiff. When I walked in there were a few people waiting to be adjusted so I filled out the paperwork and waited for my turn. The Chiropractor i spoke to gave me a breakdown of the spinal cord and provided some suggestions to help my back. He then adjusted me and let me tell you.... I was terrified because I was already in pain BUT I didn't feel any additional pain while being placed in alignment. I ended up signing up for their monthly membership of 4 visits for 79 dollars. I really need it, especially when I'm sitting at a desk all day. I'm hoping this stops the back pain I've been experiencing for some time now. Hours later, and I feel much better than I did when I walked in. I came home and did what the chiropractor recommended, which was to i w my neck and back to reduce the inflammation. I have recently been adjusted by both Dr. Antonya Forsyth and Dr. Alex Choi and both experiences were purely positive. Both doctors took a few minutes to review my file online, asked me a series of questions about what needed tending to and talked me through the different adjustments they did as they did them. They also both took the time to suggest different stretches and home remedies I could use to support the release of computer related stress and tension. Given COVID-19 precautions that I am taking, I was relieved to see that the Thousand Oaks location keeps their front door open to help with air circulation in the lobby, that everything looked freshly sanitized and that both the Wellness Coordinator and Doctor wore masks (and did so correctly). And in addition to seeing the Doctor thoroughly wipe down the treatment table after I got off it, there was also Hand Sanitizer available for patients and I noticed a system for disinfecting pens at the front counter. So it's clear that Morgan, the Wellness Coordinator, and both of the doctors are taking the necessary precautions to keep themselves and patients safe. Morgan also went above and beyond helping me with HSA / FSA paperwork that I needed to be able to submit to my employer, which I greatly appreciated. I am glad to have a location down the street, instead of needing to get on the 101 and head to Calabasas as I've been doing for the past two years. And even more so, I am grateful to be in the hands of individuals who are clearly skilled a what they do, compassionate in how they go about it and are taking the pandemic seriously. read more

I was dealing with extreme tightness on the left side of my neck for 6 months. My friend recommended i go to the joint here in newbury park. After a few sessions my neck pain completely went away. I would give this place zero stars. I went here one time only due to a sudden back condition. The chiropractor who treated was male and his demeanor was not great. The adjustment received helped a little bit but my overall experience I felt was not given by an experienced chiropractor who knew what he was doing. On top of that they set me for a membership without giving me a proper explanation of what it was all about, only saying it would expire in 1 month. They never sent any information about this membership and never followed up about my membership. I was continuously charged monthly payments and again never received any communication from them. When I finally realized I was being charged $89 a month they only offered to refund 3 months out of the 12 charged. I was robbed. Waste of money and time explaining to them that their communication was never received and not even a receipt was issued monthly had I received one I would have definitely called them sooner to cancel! Seems I was not the only one who experienced this. Be careful here, they are all about the money not about treatment or care. I do not recommend going here. I repeat, do not go here. read more

Desperate for some adjustment after full vaccination, I stumbled upon The Joint Chiropractic in Newbury Park. They are Amaaazing! Friendly and professional and get this: Always Available!! . Doctor Alexander Choi carefully listened to my introduction and history and tended to me accordingly. It was great to meet him and especially to find out what a great sense of humor he has. I can't believe it! This is incredible! No appointments necessary!! They are open until late in the evenings...And they are open on Saturdays (working on setting up Sunday hours as well!!). You can make appointments with particular doctors if you like, but otherwise, you can simply walk in. Brilliant! I waited for 24 hours after my adjustment to give a better assessment of my experience. And I must say, I'm walking taller and more briskly ... and No back pain today!! The chiropractor that saw me last visit (which was only my 3rd visit) only saw me for about 4 minutes. I had other aches and adjustment needed but he said okay your done I will see you next time. I replied that i needed more work done and he said to just drink water. I paid the 2 month membership for like $160 or something it's not worth it. The first adjustment was about 25 minutes the second was 5 the third was quick only a couple minutes in and out. And I left in pain. Would not recommend for the price. My bank has reached out to them and told them to stop charging my card and they have continued. First off, I want to say that I'm Cory not Cinthia. Ok so Seriously I don't understand how people don't go here before heading to the doctors. Save your life people! Don't end up on pain killers, get your self adjusted and live the normal life. The first few times I came here I didn't like how they push the membership on you, but after coming back multiple times I realized it is a no brainer. Most Chiropractors are expensive AF and won't take insurance. I'm so grateful for The Joint it's crazy. I've gone from a pain level of 8 with 10 being the worst, to a 3 by the time I walk out of this place. And the 3 is from a little inflammation in my back still. I highly recommend this place. IF FOR SOME REASON YOU LEAVE AND DONT FEEL BETTER, JUST GO BACK THE NEXT DAY AND LET THEM KNOW!!. It has happened to me a few times because I had hard time relaxing.
