It can be really intimidating to find the right Physical Therapist. How do you decide? What makes a…read moregreat PT and how do you find them when it seems like there are so many options. I had been in ankle pain for more than a year....but I did what so many of us do, I put it off, I pushed through. I climbed Mt. Whitney (after climbing all the highest peaks in Southern California) and pushed through it until I couldn't push through it anymore. Running (one of my favorite forms of exercise) was now off the table. I needed help. I sat down with a list of Physical Therapists and started calling and when I spoke to Carolyn - she listened - she asked questions and she genuinely seemed to care. After listening to me she knew I had to get in to see Dr. Maddie and she made it happen. I booked an appointment and then received my welcome packet. It was thorough and helpful and I knew what to expect before I walked into my first appointment. Maddie listened and committed to making a plan to get me back to all of my favorite activities and then she dug in and she worked hard for me and felt invested in my recovery. I can not overstate the value of the 1:1 experience. When you're working with Dr. Maddie you have her full attention and your therapy is tailored to your needs. She answers questions and keeps you informed so that you can be partners in your recovery. She uses an app to provide your home exercise routine and she adapts as needed. I was also pleasantly surprised when I was sent home with the things I needed to do my home exercises, at no extra charge! The attention to detail from Elevated Physical Therapy is unparalleled as is the level of care you'll receive from the whole team. My experience then led my husband to working with Dr. Maddie too. I've been able to return to hiking, playing tennis and running without pain! And I know Elevated PT will be there for me if I need anything in the future.

I was recommended to Dr. Maddie by Dr. Jason Khadavi (also a great podiatrist)…read more I went to Maddie with a foot injury that was already over a year old and prevented me from walking/exercising normally. She was HIGHLY personalized and customized the plan to me, asking about and working with what my goals were at the end of treatment. I had 9 sessions total and those sessions went by really fast. Each session was a balance of PT massage(?) and physical exercises. They were varied and interesting, so I looked forward to each session as it didn't feel like a chore. In addition, there's a companion mobile app where you get daily exercises (with video demonstrations!) to do at home. You also have direct text messages with the receptionist, Carolyn, who is very responsive and such a rarity to find in healthcare. I'm so grateful to Maddie and Carolyn for getting me back to being MOBILE again! I cannot recommend them enough.

From the very…read morebeginning, Dr. Yu took the time to understand my injury history and created a customized program specifically tailored to my needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. During the program, I unfortunately sustained another injury affecting my neck, shoulder, and back. Instead of simply pausing my progress, Dr. Yu quickly pivoted and developed a new plan that worked around my limitations while helping me recover safely. His depth of knowledge of the human body is truly remarkable. Thanks to his expertise and personalized approach, I'm now able to work out again and even get back to hiking--activities I wasn't sure I'd be able to enjoy after my injuries. That progress has been incredibly meaningful to me. Dr. Yu is like a mad scientist--in the best possible way. He's completely devoted to his craft, constantly analyzing, adapting, and finding the most effective approach for each individual. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping his clients heal, move better, and perform at their best. If you're looking for someone who combines scientific expertise with personalized care and delivers real results, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Benjamin Yu and the Longevity Performance Institute.

I was training for a half marathon when my injuries happened and with Wendy, I was able to run and complete the race, even though there was some pain, it was manageable and the pain didn't happen til much later. Scheduling is easy, the gym and rooms are clean. Staff were all super friendly. I think what I love most is that some physical therapy offices have you see the PT for just a few mins and then they send you off to work with an aide or assistant. At LPI you stay with your PT the entire session. I plan to go back and do some check ins to hopefully prevent future issues or injuries.

If you care about your health and well being, do not come to a place that practices mill medicine,…read morecontrary to the standard of care. Multiple rushed and poor experiences here with several physicians. Most of your face time here is with physician assistants. When a doctor experiences significant tactile resistance during an injection and openly admits a lesion isn't behaving like a typical cyst, shifting to a passive "wait-and-see" approach without looking at your historical imaging is simply a contradiction in clinical logic. Calling that out isn't about being confrontational; it is about recognizing that your intuition was right, your questions are valid. Dr. Billings operates a medical mill. I came to see Dr Billings (incidentally CEO of Pasadena Orthopedics) for a thumb lesion xrayed 5 years ago and never biopsied. She injected my thumb without so much as objectively establishing if the lesion was solid or cystic. She told me with utmost confidence that I have a cyst. She suddenly revised her diagnosis while in the midst of obviously struggling to inject the lesion with steroids. She wanted to move fast because volume means Benjamins $. I walked in with little to no pain, and walked out unable to fully flex or extend my thumb without pain. The office then gave me the run around for a simple imaging request after the pain progressively worsened and insinuated that the response to my injection in 6 weeks is "diagnostic." No rationale was offered. Billings tried to pivot with, "let's see if we get a treatment response." Truth is, she realized unnecessary needle trauma would have to be healed from forcefully trying to inject steroids (liquid) in something with the density of an eraser (before imaging could become meaningful). I offered to show them prior imaging, but they were too busy churning out patients. I came here for diagnostic clarity, not to sit around for 2 hours and be provided substandard care. The audacity of trying to pass it off as, "let's wait to see if the treatment responds" (damn well knowing it's not behaving like a cyst and forcing fluid in a solid mass in a patient's thumb). Come on now.
