I called in to get additional information about a used Lance trailer that I planned to buy at a different dealership, and to inquire about the wisdom of buying new. I took my boat to be fully serviced in November 2023. I put it back in the water in January 2024. Since then, when bringing the motor up out of the water, it slowly drops in the water. I called Richard's Boat and RV service in July, and was told it's probably is a hydraulic problem. I went to Richard's and talked to a gentleman about I believe it is their cause, and asked if they would look at it without charging me the $165.00 an hour. He told me no, it's past the warranty. They charge too much, and don't understand why they wouldn't look at it to see if it's their cause without charging me. read more

I was a long time costumer and had no complaints in the past 3 or 4 years experience with this bussines took my trailer 2016 Lance 2285 for roof service , slide service , replace power jack , wash detail etc drove over 60 miles for the service good experience with Tom but recently sadly had a really bad experience got a verbal quote for 1 hour job from Rick repair employee that told me he worked for Lance over 10 years and he knew exactly where the leak was coming from the outside of the trailer slide , I spoke to Richard on the phone two days before and he told me to drop off the trailer no parts need so I did stop with trailer March 28th Thursday around 12:30pm they were doing on lunch I totally understood but they told me that the service would be 2 hour and half over $500 when Rick told me 1 hour service I was not happy went to talk to Richard I believe the manager or owner and he was not helpful at all, matter fact very rude since I mention the work was not complicated at all because I was told by Rick the service employee .Richard answer was " if the job is so easy why don't you do yourself " Richard attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional since we are talking about principal and keeping your word as a honest man .. luckily to the RV community we have now mobile Rv tech and we have way more choices and better prices and convenience. . We purchased a used camper and although there were several issues with the price and the seller I would not have complained about it EXCEPT that we've just come to find out that the BLACK WATER TANK was about 2/3 full and the GREY WATER TANK was also 2/3 full! They could have at least emptied the tanks before selling us the camper The worst part is that we know the camper was sitting on the lot for months. I'm not sure if this is even legal, but it's definitely poor business practices. read more

The terrible experience dealing with such "kinda" service. I contacted to them regarding warranty case of my brand new Crestliner boat. Manager Tom doesn't answer the calls and doesn't call back saying he was busy. Working on warranty case (Crestliner) he was telling to the owner (me) many times that Crestliner doesn't pay the dealership for the warranty job. Why the customers have to listen that? So to me it was looking like he was asking me to pay them for job which has to be confirmed by the manufactory as a manufacture defect. Then after one part of my request has been finished I've been waiting for 3 weeks without any updates from the same manager. As soon as I have called him he provided an update without any excuses. This service doesn't care about customers (probably I was not a customer for them yet, but looking on such "dealing" with customer I will avoid contacting to them even in warranty case). The issue that they fixed came back again next time when I just used the boat after service. "Bring the boat to us again and we will see what happened". You will never know why the same issue happened again but you have to pay again and again. Think twice to buy new Crestliner boat in California with such a great warranty service. read more

My disability limits my mobility. (Everyone ships items and takes phone orders these days) They should credit me on the gasket i was shorted. Dan is... a character. His emails come off very short and uninterested in helping you and his phones calls reassure that feeling. Dan should realize there are many places to buy trailers and boats, and for the majority of SoCal, driving the Lancaster isn't an easy haul. His attitude doesn't make me want to head that way at all. Unfortunately the shop where I purchased my boat closed down and left this the only place to take my boat locally. The person who owns this place must be super rich cause they treated me like they didn't need my business. I had an item that was under warranty by the manufacture, I had already received the parts from them and, talked to them about sending a check for the labor cost. All Richard's was supposed to do was to remove the old parts and install the new ones. Well I guess that proved to be too much trouble cause the day after I dropped off my boat he called me and said he was having trouble getting ahold of the warranty person. (everytime I called him hey called me back within half an hour) Then 1 hour later he called me and said "he's at his whits end trying to make sure he's gonna get paid" so I told him I would take it somewhere else and so I did. I'm glad I did cause the new place was willing to help me and I will be making the extra drive out of town to take it elsewhere. I suggest you do the same. read more

Had a recall on the Dometic stove and Richards was NEVER able to schedule the repair and after a WHOLE year of claims from Tom and Richard ,after each time reminding them who I was , that they could not get the part and for my 2021 2285 Lance stove. The one good thing Tom did do was recommend I deal w/ Lance direct and once I contacted Lance service and after hearing my yearlong sagadealing with Richards , was not hesitant to bring me in and take care of it directly. I recently bought a new Lance 2185 Travel Trailer from Richard's and had a great experience start to finish. I drove 150 miles from San Diego bypassing at least two Lance dealers on the way. It all started with a factory tour, which I highly recommend. Dan, the main salesman from Richard's leads these on Wednesday mornings. He spent about two hours taking us though every part of the factory and answering a million questions. He seemed to have a really good grasp of the product. The factory tour reinforced my perception of the quality and durability of the Lance trailer. For me the extra $5k or so to buy a Lance was well worth it. After the tour Dan was the most low key sales person I have ever worked with. There was absolutely no pressure. We also really liked that he gave us the same price to order exactly what we wanted from the factory vs taking one from his lot. As for the price, it was the lowest we could find by a significant margin. Since there are no delivery charges, they have an unfair advantage. We ordered our trailer with $1000 down and the promise of a 6-8 week delivery. I was initially dubious about dealer financing, but on Dan's advice I gave them a try and got a better rate than USAA or my local bank. Yesterday I picked up the trailer and had a similarly good experience. Jeff gave me a very thorough walkthrough while Kyle set up the Andersen hitch. As a high volume Lance dealer, they really knew their stuff, and Kyle took the time to not only put on the hitch, but to measure the drop on my tow vehicle and dial it in until we had a level ride for both the trailer and tow vehicle. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Dan answered my calls, answered my questions, and gave me great advice! NO high pressure as with many RV dealers. Richard's RV is a Mom and Pop RV dealer that provides the best products and the highest level of service. I see a couple of negative reviews on Yelp BUT you must understand that an unhappy customer will tell at least 10 people of his problems but a happy customer may not tell anyone at all!! My husband and I came here to pick up our new Lance 1575. Our trailer was ready for us when we showed up and they even had the AC runnung so that it would be nice and comfortable as we did our walk through. Jeff walked us through the trailer and explained everything to us. He was able to answer all of our questions and was very knowledgeable. He was a pleasure to work with. We experienced the same treatment with everyone that worked there. Dan had all of our finance paperwork ready for us! It was a very quick and smooth process. Finally we worked with Tom. He gave us a nice discount on a satellite dish. We were given complimentary shirts and were even offered pizza that they were all having for lunch. Just a very nice group of guys. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Came to look at trailers and were completely ignored by salesmen until we went into the sales trailer and had to awkwardly wait until we were finally acknowledged. The salesman seemed to be annoyed that we were asking for information on a trailer. We had questions about tow weight and what was safe for our vehicle to which his response was "well I'll sell you whatever you want, you're the one responsible for lugging it". We left shortly after feeling like our business was completely unwanted. He never even asked for any contact information to get in touch with us in the future. Bad business practices. read more

We just ordered our first RV travel trailer from Lou and Dan at the RV show in Pomona. Just cannot tell you how pleased we are with our experience in making this rather big purchase. Both Lou and Dan took time to answer our many, many questions. Lou walked us through every inch of our trailer model explaining every part as we went. He and my husband even got down and went underneath so he could explain the dual axle suspension. We were able to sit and customize our trailer to fit our exact needs. He seemed judgey of my husband and I who are young. He's a judgey old man and needs to learn customer service that's why his competition is making way more sales than he is and that's exactly why we fell in love with a trailer there but don't want to deal with Dan at all rather do Bobby's Rv or Rv place in Acton which Rick is super helpful.
