Used Randy with this pool service for a few months. Had a feeling he wasn't doing anything. I asked his over and over if he was even coming cause it never looked good. Set up a camera... sure enough he came, put some chemicals in pool and left within 5 minutes. Never skimmed the pool, never cleaned anything. He even told me to buy an auto pool skimmer. I have a very short lived experience w/ Randy but wanted to share it anyways. Randy was a referral from a friend that is a current client of his. We just moved into a house about a week ago and the time between when the last owners moved out and when we moved in, the pool turned green. We did our best with shocking and trying to get rid of the algae, but there was more work than we had knowledge about (as first time pool owners.) I reached out to Randy and gave him the details of the scenario. My ask was to get our pool into to a usable condition so we basically could "start fresh" -- Randy said yes absolutely he could do that, and even better was that he could make it out there THAT SAME DAY. Great! So he shows up a few hours later and tells me some info about the pool and whats happening with it regarding the chemicals and such. And what needs to be done. THEN... I ask if this is something he could fix today and he said "well am I your official pool guy?" --- I was really thrown off because I didn't want to commit to a regular pool service. I wanted to get our pool to a new start and then see if its something we could manage on our own. But Randy was extremely hesitant to do any work unless I committed. I was firm and said no, this is what we need today and then I'll discuss it with my husband. In the end, he quoted me a price for the "one time" cleaning he could do. He told me what he would do for that price (treat & clean the pool, and clean our cartridge filters) He treated our pool with phosphate concentrate to ensure algae would be gone, and then he cleaned the pool (skimmed the top) and told me it would take about 24 hrs for everything to settle. So then I said ok, are you coming back once it's settled to vacuum up the algae or whatever is left? He asked again "am I your pool guy?" I repeated, again, that I would discuss it with my husband and get back to him. So, he did not clean our cartridges. He took my money, but didn't do what he said he would do. However, I waited 24 hrs like he said to see if our pool would be better/ ready -- 24 hrs went by and the next day our pool was still cloudy. Randy texted me the very next day and asked AGAIN "so am I your pool guy?" and I flat out said, well you didnt really fix our pool, so no... why would I commit to hiring someone on a regular basis if they couldn't prove they could do a good job/ deliver on what we asked? Randy offered to come back to vacuum the pool and clean the cartridges, but at that point I was just ready to move on and accept that I paid $140 for a "shock treatment" that didn't fix my pool. read more

We initially hired temporarily Randy because our pool guy had some health issues, and he had someone fill in for him who didn't show up for a few weeks, and our pool started to turn green and murky. We made an appointment for Randy to come out, and that day was pouring down with rain. Randy showed up and went to work, there was a whole lot of work that needed to be done that day because our filter was plugged from not being cleaned for weeks, and he did it all in the rain despite us telling him he could come back when it wasn't raining. He came several days in a 2 week span to clean the debris from the pump and to ensure the chemicals were balanced. We have now hired Randy full time because he has gone far and beyond what our previous pool man has done. Randy does an amazing job, our pool has never looked better, he shows up, gets the job done and is very easy to work with. However, he didn't completely empty filter container. Leaving filth to reenter pool. He didn't completely clean grids. Leaving 3 inch bottom grid dirty. He threw grids kinda hard on pile 3 feet away. Possibly damaging them. While he added diametous earth it all entered pool. Leaving pool filthy. He said it wasn't his fault because it must be a problem with manufold. So he didn't inspect manafold while reassembling it to grids. read more

Our pool turned green and filled with algae and dirt. The last pool guy said the pipes in the filtering system were leaked also the pool needs to be drained and acid washed. After talking with several pool service providers, we decide to go with Randy Martinez because of his honesty and professionalism. Randy didn't recommend draining and acid washing the pool. Instead, he replaced the cracked manifold in the filter and after 3 visits, our pool was back in great shape. Please see below pool pictures for before (10/27/2023) and after (11/17/2023).
