I hired Richie Hart events for the second time. I can't speak highly enough. This was a no-brainer! He did such a phenomenal job both times. I can't say enough wonderful things. The only imperfect part of our perfect day. Buyer beware! About 36 hours before my wedding I received an email telling me I had to send them an additional $200 for the event. I had previously discussed schedule and even produced an exact timeline of the event. I got an email 3 days prior saying we were totally good-to-go on all logistics. It was an attempt at extortion. I denied it--- its not like $200 in the grand scheme of a wedding is a big deal, but I think that's exactly why the felt so cavalier to demand it. I had paid in-full along with the initial contract and did not take a payment option instead. This was NOT about the money. When I said no- that it was completely inappropriate- I was told I had to 'speak to Richie then.' They were threatening to pull out (conveniently) with no time to find a replacement. When I spoke to Richie I explained that if the cocktail hour (that was in every single email we exchanged prior) somehow warranted $200 more I could use house music for that time. He said that's what people often due which was why there was a mixup. He said they would do the event because they are such professionals but I would need to "take care of the DJ" because this $200 was "directly out of his pocket, not mine." Essentially he inferred I would be a scumbag to not give $200 cash in place of sending him an authorization. In setting up the event you have to submit forms to plan out the day. Our set up was extremely simple with minimal announcements. The intro involved announcing only us and not the entire wedding party but the chosen song was not played. We provided a list of 6 songs for the entire event.... They played back to back immediately following the first dance- no mix at all. Shady AND inadequate--- They were pretty cheap, but Id suggest paying extra for a better vendor. Update to respond to comment below. You call my post 'completely untrue' but didn't even contest the majority of it. Instead you spend your response trying to justify what you did, which if anything reinforces what I said. - You had the detail sheet (and payment) months before the wedding - You had a spelled out timeline a week before the event - You called 36 hours before the wedding demanding more $ - You tried to embarrass me into giving the same $ as gratuity instead and even did the same in your response. I worked in hospitality for a decade (even a wedding venue). Everyone who did their job was well compensated that day. -No mention on how your awful DJ messed up our extremely simple intro. You said that reviews are important to you and clearly they are. You guys disputed this same review on a wedding site, claiming you were not even our DJ-- because thats the only basis they allow to dispute a review. If you want better reviews- Do better! Don't call your clients liars when you miss the mark. read more

We used Richie Hart Events for our twins B'nai mitzvah and I have to say, they made the entire party!!! Working with Richie and Jill was a pleasure. They helped me every step of the way and without any pressure, helped me to create an event we will remember forever. Our MC, Elli, was OUTSTANDING!! He was adorable, so much fun without being over the top and an amazing dancer with the perfect personality for this. The kids loved him yet he also appealed to all of the adults. We had four "motivational dancers" and they made the party rock!! Even when it was time for them to take a break, they were interacting with the kids and kept the party going the entire time. The DJ did everything we asked and the day MORE THAN EXCEEDED our expectations! We also had the zap photos. I was unsure at first but went with them since I wanted the screens for the montage. We were so glad we had them. We had some older people who stayed in their seats but they still were able to see the fun on the dance floor. Richie was really a pro to work with. We had a last minute change towards the end (no fault of his) and he handled it so well for us. I decided to use them based on a neighbors's recommendation and I absolutely could not have been happier with the service we received. read more
