Tacos were ok. The chicken in the tacos was not as nicely cooked as we have had in other taco trucks in the area. Veggie tacos were also just ok. There is one table under a cover, though we just ate in our car. There is a decent amount of parking next to the truck. read more

Craving street tacos, Richi's bright yellow Taco Truck was right in front of me as I was turning onto Lombard Street so I had to stop. Ordered 2 Pastor and 2 Carnitas tacos which were $2.00 each. When the dish was handed to me, immediately I knew these would be a snack because the dish was light as air. When I buy tacos at my favorite truck, Tehuana Oaxacan - by which all other tacos are measured - the plate Is really heavy because the tacos are filled with lots of meat and have just one tortilla. For comparison, Tehuana Oaxacan charges $3 a taco and I can only eat 2. These tacos were small and had two tortillas, so I took one off. Even with just one tortilla the meat to tortilla ratio was low. Even worse, the meat was very dry and had little flavor. I had to put Jalapeño sauce and lots of lime juice to moisten them up but they still had little flavor. It pains me to give a so-so review to a food truck, especially during these Covid days when restaurants and food trucks are struggling. But the tacos were just ok And not filling. I define ok as nothing special, no reason to have them again. Especially when there are so many places that have great tacos. Should have followed my original plan and drove down to the Alphabet area in NW to Tehuana Oaxacan on my way home. But when I saw Rich's truck right there, I figured I'd save time. Won't make that mistake again! Tomorrow I will be at Tehuana Oaxacan for legit tacos because the ones I had tonight did not in any way satisfy my craving. read more

Beware! We order 2 burritos. Had to wipe off copious grease from them with napkins. Then one was filled with cheese and we didn't order it with cheese because I am allergic, we also had to wait an extra 30 minutes in the hot sun to get our order because they forgot to make one of our from the online system. And aparently they don't start orders until you actually get there? Completely disorganized. We will never come back, this place is a mess! Came across this taco truck by coincidence, and was not disappointed! Probably one of the better taco places I've come across in Oregon. It also was nice to support a BIPOC local business. This food truck visited my apt to offer 2 free tacos to residents between 5pm and 7pm. Many residents here. At 6pm they were already out but still SELLING food. My 6 yr old was sad so I bought 5 tacos for 3.50 each. Went straight back to our apt....missing a taco. $19.50 (including a $2.00 tip). Went back to the truck. They offered me a burrito bowl (that was probably a missorder) that was already made. My son doesn't like sour cream. I just wanted what I ordered. After coming BACK home with the $3.50 street taco i should have had already gotten, they should have offered an extra one just to accommodate, not just pass of an already made, don't know when, burrito bowl I didn't order. $13 for that btw...They should've offered me 3 free tacos instead of old food. We were at Joann's & one too many craft decisions that should have been played out in my head but wasn't later...A was bordering on hangry. I could feel it. Yelping the closest well starred place landed us just a parking lot away at Richi's. With cash on hand being our max spending limit, we went with the hurache with pastor, chicken torta, 1 asada taco, and 1 lengua taco. The lady was on the phone when she took our order. It was a bit awkward because it felt like we were interrupting. The food came out pretty quickly and the chairs filled up with teenagers from the max station across the street ordering tortas. We scarfed it down and dodged a hangry bullet. There also weren't any napkins so I had to be dainty with my taco handling. Afterwards, we realized it was good, but better can be had at Taqueria Santa Cruz or even Taco Del Sol. read more

The other night though I ordered two tortas and a taco here with my mother expecting to have a delightful meal only to come home and find out that what we ordered was not included on both of our tortas and they forgot to give us the one taco we ordered. Richi's is my favorite taco cart by a long shot. I assume that they have a restaurant somewhere in Hillsboro, but I have never been to it. The cart is in the parking lot of a seedy-looking apartment complex right across the street from the Beaverton Transit Center. They recently remodeled their space so there are now parking spaces right in front of it. The cart also has a table with an umbrella and some chairs but most of the time it is either rainy and wet or I just get my food to go. My favorite thing to get are the carnitas and pastor tacos. They come standard on two little tortillas with onion and cilantro. The carnitas is always lean and always moist. It is not crispy, but other then that, it is pretty much perfection. The pastor is done well so that it is flavorful but not TOO sweet. This cart also makes delicious sopes, tortas, and burritos. They generally have four different bottles of sauce. The green being my personal favorite. Honestly, it varies a bit day-to-day but on a good day it packs a good punch! They have the standard Jarritos and other bottles beverages. They also have flan in their cold case which I've tried once and it seems a bit to...custardy for my tastes. Richi's is a solid place to get a quick bite. It has a good central location (if you are in Beaverton) and is open fairly late. It always feels like a good alternative to fast food past 9 PM. They hired a couple women not that long ago and every time I'd order with them, my food always had a problem. They are nice ladies but not sure if they know what they're doing. I'm impressed! Got a very large steak burrito and 2 chicken tacos for $9 here. They were very satisfying. This food cart also looks super clean on the inside. While it's not my favorite mexican food on the planet, it is a lot cheaper than my favorite mexican food on the planet, and for this reason... 5 stars! They do spicy very well here. If you allow the attendant to put salsa on your items; your lips will be burning. I also really enjoy the radishes they put in the chicken tacos. So fresh tasting. I later came back and tried a steak torta. It was only the second torta I've ever had, but it was definitely the best, and HUGE! Minor Gripes: 1. I have trouble communicating with the pretty, younger attendant. I think she thought I was trying to steal food the other night because I had a hard time understanding what she was saying when she was asking for payment. 2. This is not fast food. It's the first really cold, rainy night we've had in months, so a pal wants to know if I want to have some tacos. I'm game, so off we go. I admit to being a little startled when we pull into the spot near an apartment complex, wondering in what restaurant the tacos are located because I sure can't see anything else. But, boom, I turn my head and there's the food truck, and I might add a very nice-looking and super clean food truck. These tacos are worth waiting for in any weather. I had carnitas, pastor, and asada, nice assortment, wonderfully tasty, beautifully fresh ingredients, nicely cooked and prepared, and what a price, $1.25 a pop. I love the serving size: just a few bites of deliciousness, nothing too huge. You really don't need huge honking portions of anything when it is this well prepared, because it will satisfy you and thus you will not want to stuff yourself. The green sauce is just perfect for dotting over the tops of the tacos and then a squeeze of fresh lime is the great finishing touch. The proprietor is a very nice gentleman who works calmly and steadily. They have some interesting other choices like lengua and cabeza tacos as well, and also have Mexican sodas. BTW, it's cash only. This is no Chipotle so set your expectations for some legit and delicious grill-style food rather than an Americanized menu. (During my lunchtime visit, I was the only gringo amongst a steady stream of Hispanic patrons.) The lengua burrito I ordered tasted fresh and was a solid serving for $7 (cash only). (Be warned that lengua is beef tongue. This may not be everyone's cup of tea...) It came out in just a few minutes and had a solid fill of beans, potatoes and tomatoes plus a few other vegetables. The homemade salsa (in a katsup style bottle) was excellent and finished off the burrito perfectly. Once we got them I realized that they had chorizo - similar to campechanos, which is not the way that I know alambres to be. I have always been skeptical about food trucks but Richi's Tacos has changed my mind/image of them for good. I go maybe about twice a month and order tacos every time. The quesadilla with meat inside and rice and beans looks absolutely delicious but I have not tried it yet. The chicken is so well seasoned and the carnitas is so tender and juicy. I LOVE the selection of hot sauces! There's not much of a seatin area so you can get your order to-go. The pricin is reasonable for the quality of food.
