This was more of a 3.5 experience for me, but the guys were really friendly and helpful in my food decision. They told me that they had vegan options. I had a large catering order that I was picking up and I got there an hour early. Based on the vegan options, I decided to get dinner before having to pick up my order. They have Field Roast plant based meat for tacos and burritos. There's a food truck parked in front of a building where you place and pay for your order. You can sit inside the large space to wait for your order and dine. There was a video poker area. The neon sign said that they are open 24/7, I asked about it and they confirmed. I got 2 tacos that had Field Roast meat and veggie toppings that tasted fresh. I asked if there was chicken broth in the rice, and he said the rice and beans were vegan. I am so glad that I gave them another go! Just ordering was way better than I remember. Yes, I am that person who wants food at 430 in the morning, you don't know me! Also, a few major notes I discovered while perusing that menu... they have ensalada that looks INCREDIBLE. The description (seriously read this!) is mixed greens, carrots, black beans, corn, onions, cilantro, tomatoes, cheese, pumpkin seeds, pecans and avocado slices. I want to order that with some of those carnitas! I love that they have a crazy amount of fruits and vegetable options, down to whole pieces of fruit! I sometimes have to order in for days due to mobility issues (tissue disorder) and I try to order almost like I am grocery shopping. Good salads and fruit bowls are such a beautiful thing to add on. Even just my order clearly was using very fresh ingredients and you can order a long list of sides like radishes and other veggies, including Mexican street corn in a cup! Unfortunately they do not have pico de gallo, they just have salsa roja which is not my thing but their guac is pretty delicious. I ordered two tamales one pork and one chicken, and I had some rice and beans with them. I also ordered some chips. With queso. The queso was shredded cheese, it wasn't melted at all. I thought that being that I'm ordering chips I could dip the chips into the queso. The chips were good but needed salt. But going back to the tamales the chicken tamale was good but the pork tamale was very dry, I ate about a third of it. The refried bean were okay, they didn't give me salsa so I dipped the chips in the beans. The Mexican rice was horrible! I wouldn't give the rice to my dog. I've been living in West Portland Park for over a year now and somehow I missed a 24 hour taco cart right down the street from me in Tigard. This is not a good thing, and could also be a potential problem. I mean, I can wake up now at 3am and go run down the street and get a breakfast burrito or birria. Basically, I'll probably have to spend more time at the gym. Sigh. I got a three taco plate with refried bean and rice. It also came with a roasted jalapeño and radishes. My meat choices were asada, carnitas and chorizo. They gave me all three hot sauce options and green was the best tasting of the three and the habanero wasn't all that hot (at least for me). The carnitas and chorizo were good but the asada needed more seasoning and was a bit dry. The beans and rice were great. They have plenty of choices and yeah, I'll be back to try one or more of the other options and they also have dessert, like flan. Not many carts offer a dessert and you can't beat a good flan. I got the Torta with Al Pastor and the best way to describe it is nostalgic. The torta is super flavorful and I'm usually worried the bread is going to be dry but this bread wasn't. I also got the cheese with poblano peppers Tamale which was surprisingly good. The tamale was a great size for the price and it is covered in a red sauce and cheese. The location was a bit hidden like in a parking lot but i love that they have both an indoor and outdoor eating area. We happened on this place by chance. We saw this lone food truck up facing a building and decided to go for an explore. The menu is extensive. We picked out a couple of our favs, that are hard to come by. We ordered a #16 Tamale Plate and a #17 Sopitas Plate It turns out that the building this food truck faces and a nice clean large indoor dining area for Livi's Taqueria. We decided to sit in the covered outdoor dining area, which is inset into an alcove, protecting it from the wind. It also has a clear roof for rainy days. OMG, these tamales were the best in town! They are large and very fresh, moist, and almost fluffy. I thought I would only eat one tamale, but they were so good I ate them both! I got the birria quesa tacos I can only infer that they are not traditionally Mexican but I don't care. I usually order the carna asada fries which seems like it doesn't have a steady price sometimes 12$ sometimes 15 sometimes 18. So we ordered a ton of food and tummy was very satisfied. In terms of taste, I wouldn't say this is the best taqueria that I have been to because their salsa was not very standout. The meats were ok as well, not super charred like how I like it. But I do really like their taco de papa, which is a potato taco with crispy shell.
