Wow !! This pace has fast and friendly service. Showed up at 5pm and ordered sopas, enchiladas and a Gordita. All were very tasty. It probably only took 7 mins to get our food. We were the only customer there tho. Either way?', this is a great Mexican food truck off hwy 99 just south off I-5 on the left in the old hotspot Chinese restaurant parking lot. S I dare you to try the extra hot sauce. It's so hot. It will make you sweat right away. I am not kidding either. Overall, you cannot go wrong here. The people here were so nice and friendly. The tacos were delicious, I got carnitas, asada, and lengua. My friends got plates and enjoyed those thoroughly. La Riel Taqueria's food is pretty darn tasty. Found this by accident with a girlfriend and then took my husband back later who really enjoyed the food. We traveled to Mexico quite a bit, so it's nice to have food that's pretty authentic. He had the chimichanga, not authentic, which he really really loved. Totally lives up to the hype! We got a bunch of different items from there and everything was at least a 4.5 out of 5 stars! We also asked for quite a few modifications (no onions on this, no cheese on that, etc.) and everything was exactly as requested. I'm pretty sure every other reviewer has mentioned them, but you've got to try the quesatacos! Sooo good! They seemed pricey, but those are some big, rich, and filling tacos, worth every penny. Get (at least) two and get the consume to enjoy them at their juiciest perfection. Our group also tried the carne asada taco plate, the quesadilla (with carne asada), and shredded pork tacos. Maybe more? But as I mentioned, everything was delicious and everyone was happy and stuffed. Plus the staff was super cool/nice and everything is clean and organized. It was raining really hard when we were there, so we waited in the car while everything was prepared, and they gave us a buzzer so we'd know when our food was ready. We drove back to Portland and everything was still hot and fresh! We went last Friday and already have plans to go back this weekend. I obviously highly recommend this spot. read more

Fantastic burrito that had a perfect symphony of ingredients. The guacamole was heavenly and the chicken was cooked just right, and all inside a tortilla with just the right texture. I had a very nice gelatin dessert as well, and I'm sure I'll try another one of their many traditional desserts. One of the only truly acceptable taco trucks in the great Portland area. Being from LA many of us think we know everything about Mexican food.. well... it's bc we've typically had exposure to some of the best choices and we spend a lot of time looking for similar spots when we travel. Being in the PNW permanently now it's great to be able to spread the word of La Real Taqueria. We've been coming here for years, but after my wife's friends who were originally from SF needed to go to the Korean market down the street from this food truck I knew we needed to make a pit stop here. There were a total of 4 adults and 4 kids between our families and we ordered A LOT of food. Essentially a platter of their asada and pastors street tacos. A couple order of their quesadillas for the younger kids kept them happy while we chowed down. They typically offer a couple different hot sauces but they don't always proactively offer the "almond" colored one bc it really packs some heat. We love that hot sauce and have yet to find another truck that offers anything quite like it. Bottom line, deal with the not so great parking and limited seating. So excited to have another food option on 99W. Somehow we didn't realize it was $1 taco Tuesday and got pastor sopes and chicken torta. The sopes tasted super fresh and the pastor had good crispy edges with juicy meat. It was extra good with the creamy orange spicy salsa. Overall: Highly recommend!!! Atmosphere: This is a food truck. There are tables to sit and eat/wait which is nice and now with the weather getting more chilly they do have a outdoor heating lap which is so nice! Food: Definitely recommend the quest-tacos. Come with cheese and shredded beef inside. When you get two or more they come with consommé. Also tried the Del Sol Burritos and it was very good. I really wanted to love this place. When we pulled up, there were was a lot of people waiting to get their food...usually a good sign. So we got out and waited our turn. They were out of guacamole!
