My wife and I decided to stop here on our way home back to Wisconsin. Very neat little place. The decor is nice, the place is clean, and we were immediately greeted when we walked in. The waitress was very nice helpful and attentive the whole time. Great customer service. We ordered a few different dishes and both were very good. I wish I could eat three meals and I couldn't decide because it all sounded so good. The food was as good as it sounded on the menu. They have a good drink selection which is nice. Good beer selection which is important to me. 4 stars maybe 3 for one reason. While this would not have been a factor last year, it is in current times. Multiple employees including the bar tender had no mask on, with a dozen people at the bar. Very disappointing and little regard for the safety of the guests. None the less in a state where it is mandatory. Being one that had Covid, I would not wish it on someone else and staying on top of your employees to wear a mask is important. First let me preface this to say I have had what was the best bratwurst in Europe. But this place gets FIRST PLACE for a brat. The German Potato Salad served warm also gets a FIRST PLACE from me. Oh and did I mention the brown mustard on the side. They have three expert cooks who cook the food consistently good. And it's getting harder to eat lunch anywhere under $30.00. Would really like to give this place four stars but just a couple of things are holding me back from doing so. First, the outdoor patio has blaring music that is just a bit too loud and too hard rock for the surroundings. Too much coming and going into the garbage area right next to the tables which was a little gross. If there's a way they could have the garbage area door on the side or wait until after the shift it would be nicer. The burgers we ordered were tasty but way over done versus the cooking requested on the meat. Prices are on the high side for a burger with a three $ up charge for a side salad. Cheese curds were OK, but I expected a lighter, thinner coating yet they were probably 50% breading or more. Safe spot for a burger but not until I return and try more can I say it is a culinary destination. They do have a fairly expensive menu in terms of appetizers and bar food which is appealing so there should be plenty for everyone. read more

I LOOOOVED the food here--I had a terrific (MASSIVE) brat, fries (OMG THE FRIES), and a refreshing beer and enjoyed them outside on a nice sunny day. Happy to see that this place seems to be thriving and certainly has its regulars--I noticed a few people were already on a first-name basis with staff as they ordered, which was nice to see. This business is clearly appreciated by the community. The only I would comment on is the lack of masks and gloves at the moment. Once things calm down, I'll definitely be back. I've been raving about the food non-stop to my friends in the meantime and we look forward to trying out more of the awesome foods on the menu. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday. Excellent food and friendly, helpful service. The two guys behind the bar were great and they were proud of delivering a great meal. I had the chili cheese brat and my wife hade the cheesesteak brat. We also got cheese curds. They load the brats up with toppings and cook everything perfectly. I also tried one of the house IPAs and my wife had a pear cider. Just great. Close to home. Definitely coming back with a crew next time. read more

I honestly wanted to love this place but, tonight when I went, there were so many flies and gnats it was unbearable. I had a beer and a Diet Pepsi, I had to decide what drink I wanted to protect the most. Unfortunately I had to choose the Diet Pepsi. I have attached a picture of the gnats in my beer. See if you can find the two swimmers. I did not make a big deal about it, I did not ask for a refund. The staff was friendly but was also spraying the bar area with some kind of bug or gnat spray. The food on the other hand was really good. I had the pulled pork cheese curds. Honestly, they were the best cheese curds ever and I really like their BBQ sauce. I ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese to go, as I could not stand sitting with the gnats any longer. Loved: the food Hated: the flies I was tossed between 3-4 stars. The food is very good, and they have a huge beer selection, but the flies are really annoying. Thankfully another family came in and the flies seemed to go after them. We got fried Bier Battered Cheese Curds, three brats, several sides and one beer; I cannot complain about the food. The brats were served on a Pretzel Bun (Yumm!!) and they have several craft mustards at the table to try out. I got their Chili Cheese Wurst and it was so good - the chili was great and loaded with cheese sauce; I highly recommend it. My son got Hauswurst (without onions) and also loved his food. My wife god Bavarianwurst and loved hers. To be honest, no one disliked the food at all! What we really did not like were the flies - the management should figure out a solution for this. You don't have to hand fly paper but reducing the number of these annoying insects would help people go there and want to stay. Would I go back - yes, but probably in the winter to see if the flies were gone. If they were not gone then I would probably not return for that reason, alone. read more

I came here with my BFF and she was looking for a wrap and I was looking for a brat. The restaurant and bar section were both very busy but we were seated right away. Our server was helpful and gave some feedback on options we were both considering and our food came out pretty fast. The only issue was the drink machine was down so all we could drink was water or alcohol. The food was fantastic. I had the brat and it came on a pretzel roll was a nice surprise and honestly what I was hoping for, and my friend ordered a sandwich/wrap that had a lot of cheese on it and she loved it as well. Very nice bar and grill restaurant in Richmond, IL that specializes in a good brat! I came to Richmond since it is a short drive from Lake Geneva and visited a very nice Italian restaurant here too and saw this place and thought I would give it a try one day and had a great lunch! Their brats are pretty big actually and I'm glad they grill them as opposed to deep frying them. I ordered the Bravarian brat that is topped with a good sauerkraut and grilled onions. They serve it with traditional fries, coleslaw or German potato salad and for and extra $2 you can substitute with sweet potato fries which I will want to do the next time I'm this way. The German potato salad was so so, but the brat was great with their Dusseldorf mustard and pretzel bun. My husband had the Hotbrat with giardiniera and he loved his too! Brat Haus recently updated their menu along with everything else. The prices are now up 14-20% across the board which is quite ridiculous. $11.99/ basic brat. Inflation is up 5.4% , but you'll feel the pinch here quite a bit more. It's quite sad that you can now get a Brat at the state fair cheaper than here. They have also removed ALL specials leaving little or no reason to visit this place on a weekday. The fish fry is a joke as the pieces of fish are the size of fish sticks at best. This used to be a great place to come and have dinner and get some drinks and not break the bank. Must be new management? 2 stars because the service is still good. read more

First time here on the way up to Lake Geneva's Winterfest for a nice lunch. Gina was very welcoming, and offered some insights to menu highlights. There were many options of various types of wursts and burgers. I had bacon and cheddar sausage with pulled pork, and housemade Cherry bbq sauce, which was die for.
