I have been here several times in the past. It is a die hard Chicago sports fan bar. I can appreciate that and enjoy their loyalty. I have never eaten here, but I have partaken in all of their fresh on tap Irish beers. Stopped on the way for some nostalgia and their was friendly service and of course the fresh on tap Smithwick's. They had some cute Christmas decor and the food looked like some good Irish Pub fare. Stop in and have a brew and an app. You won't be disappointed. read more

Agree with previous review- someone recommended this place so we tried it and ended up leaving before eating & took food to go. Seems like the type of bar with a few regulars but others not so welcome. Food was forgettable and as for ambiance, there are many friendlier and cozier places in the area. read more

Wanna hear this past week for the first time after hearing mixed reviews, but wanted to give it a try. We won't be back, the food was mediocre at best. One dish came out cold, and we're assuming it was waiting on my dish, which was the correct temperature. But my dish came out wrong and when we brought it to their attention, the response was, they didn't know. Yet they had repeated the correct order back to us . Have wanted to visit here for the longest time and today the stars aligned and it was open when we passed by! Server was spectacular and attentive. We sat on the patio and the view was overgrown and not very attractive. I had cheese quesadillas that cost $12 i believe and there was so little cheese. It was like chewing on two tortillas with sour cream. Very disappointing. The sangria was yummy and presented nice. I doubt I would return. read more

The food is really good here. Sadly, many local places have gone down hill, but not Doyle's. The corned beef is outstanding and very tender, the sauerkraut and dressing is equally as good and the potato salad (which I almost never eat any where out-only like homemade) is delicious. Love it here. Just great service with helpful and wonderful staff. There are so many names to compliment here but Liz is a favorite of ours. But to be honest everyone there is just so nice. Went there tonight and ordered the broiled fish. It was cold and under cooked. I didn't want another piece because it spoiled my appetite for fish. They did not charge me for the meal. When the bill came we noticed there was a charge for hamburger patties. No one had a hamburger. They told us it was a charge for the beef that my friend had on her nachos. She said the menu said $14.99 . So we looked at the menu and it said $14.99 and at the end of the description it said beef or chicken . . . . . . The manager came to our table and told us that he looked at the menu and it was a misprint there should have been a price where the dots were so he had to charge us $6.00 for the meat. After some heated discussion he finally took off the six dollars. Will never go back. read more

This place was recommended by a friend so we thought we'd give it a go. The hostess- older woman, seated us outside. No Mask. Rude. Told us we were on our own for service. A nice waitress walked by a few minutes later took our drink order. Great drinks. Went inside to use the restroom. No one wearing a mask inside- staff all without masks. No compliance at all. Nice local pub with a pleasant atmosphere and good food. They seem to have rehabbed the space; I remember a more barn-like structure years ago. Our sandwiches and appetizers were good, and the beer selection was sound. Good, congenial service as well. A nice option in what used to be out in "the country." read more

Food was good but service is awful. We have been here 3 times since we have lived here ( 8 years ) and service has never changed.

I hate putting this out there, because normally we love this place and visit every time we are up this way. However, the complete disregard of the state's Covid measures left us, as older people with health issues, very upset. Neither the servers nor most of the customers were masked. We could not eat outside because of a life-threatening insect sting allergy. Since the state is requiring masks indoors, we had no reason to expect this. Shame on you, Doyle's. We cannot complain about the food, but felt this was important to note. read more

Our first visit today. The service was very good. Started with split pea soup. Bingo, very good, ham chunk's, and you could stand your spoon in the soup it was that thick. My wife and I had the Ruben sandwich, very tender corned beef. Very good! Our guests had the pork chop meal, it looked delicious (my next visit I will order. The other guest had the Grecian chicken, she loved it, and I will order one in the future. I recommend this establishment and we will be back for more. read more

Third time to Doyle's. It is spectacular a effort and the results are easy to see everywhere. The food is the best quality available...it's delicious. The two of us had the pot roast. We had the sweet chili wings and they were really good. Server was really nice... was surprised with the added fees.... Credit card fee I understand that one, being charged $4.00 per person to get something to go after eating and drinking there is so wrong... I guess even if you get a carry out only they are charging customers that fee too... Also got charged $1.00 for ranch dressing that usually comes with wings... wings were very good but should be informed of the extra fees... we would not have ordered food to go and won't again due to that $4.00 charge...on a positive note we got our wobbly table straightened out with a smile...Do try the bloody Mary's they were very good... read more

We stopped here while taking a long Sunday drive around northern Illinois. This was our first time stopping in here though we've passed it countless times on our way up to Lake Geneva. We ordered the Ruben and the cheeseburger. Both were perfectly prepared and huge. We ordered fries instead of tater tots They were really good and crispy. Just be forewarned they give you more than enough. I'm a fry guy and even I couldn't finish more than half of them. I was tempted to take them home but they're never as good reheated. If you're in the area, stop in. They have sports on multiple TVs. The beer is cold and the food was great. read more

Update: looks like they got a bad review on Trip Advisor from St Pattys... according to the review the corn beef was DRY and TASTELESS... no surprise. Microwaving pre portioned meat can do that... read more

Very expensive. $18 for a fish fry. It was good but $18 for two pieces of fish seems like a lot. Daughter got muscles and pasta and it said it had a "touch" of heat, written like that. So spicy it burned. No one could finish it, even the people who liked spicy food. Also charged for extra bread that no one asked for. read more

As is usually typical with me, I get so involved with the day and the excitement of my weekend adventures that I forget to eat. And then suddenly I realize I am weak and starving and have to go somewhere, anywhere, before I collapse. But see, over by Richmond way, there ain't too much to choose from, unless you enjoy the fast food (which I don't). Oddly, for all the quaint shops they offer, they have almost no restaurants. There is a fancy Italian place, which wasn't going to work since we were dressed like schlubs, so Doyle's was the only other choice. The interior of Doyle's is pretty half-assed, hunter green painted panelling with weird random stuff tacked to the wall, and formica tables. There is an outside seating area, which seemed nicer, but we were told "there's bees out there today" so we opted to stay inside. The bathroom is seriously in my top 10 of worst bathrooms ever. Imagine an airplane bathroom where everything is just a bit too old, broken and rickety for your liking. Yeah, like that. As for the service, we had a girl who had mastered the rather vacuous "dear-lord-if-I-could-be-anywhere-but-here" stare but who was also pretty speedy bringing the order over. My grilled chicken sandwich was dry, but edible and the fries that came with it were nothing special. Basically, you could do a whole lot better, and a bit worse. Or you could just be better prepared than me and eat somewhere before you get to this neck of the woods. read more

Found this gem by accident. My family and I had just finished a long day at the Volo Auto Museum. We thought we'd check out the shops in Richmond as we had not been there in well over 10 years. Turns outs the shops hours suck as they were all closed on a Friday afternoon. So we decided to eat as we had only eaten breakfast and it was now past 2:30. Walked into one bar/restaurant next to all the closed shops only to be told they open at 5?? Well WTF, put a closed sign on the door then. So we drove down the street some more and found Doyle's Pub. Nice place to eat at. Clean, our waiter was very nice, quick and friendly. Their bloodymary was to die for. My Ruben was fanfuckingtastic and my wife's Doyle's Special was REALLY REALLY good. We ordered eight of chili and chicken nachos. The nice thing is the nachos all have the added stuff on the side not piled on top of it. Which makes it so much nicer to eat. The chili was very good and nice and thick and just the right amount of spice. Been here before never a bad meal. Great place to eat and definitely recommend. read more

I stopped in with some friends at Doyle's for a brewski and appetizers. The atmosphere is welcoming and on nice days I am sure that the deck and "front porch" area are the places to be. No problem with service other than having to ask for silverware and napkins. I was somewhat surprised that these weren't brought while the food was being prepared- but it was resolved quickly so no big deal. I met a friend there for lunch. None of the wait staff were masked. I assumed that the cooks were not either. When my friend arrived, I asked her if she wanted to stay. We had the dining room to ourselves, so we sat down to lunch. We both ordered the Italian dip sandwich. The sandwiches were very fatty and full of gristle. This is the second time that I was here when the Covid protocols are ignored. I left without eating the first time. I should have remembered that, and left this time too. By the way, they charge a 3% "convenience fee" if you use a credit or debit card. I guess this is for their convenience; it certainly wasn't for mine! read more
