Instead, the Asian couple who run this place stopped me, harassed me, and interrogated me about how many loads I was doing -- something they clearly don't ask every customer. The profiling was obvious and deliberate. Then, after subjecting me to this treatment, they told me they were closing/would be closing. This wasn't about business hours. This was about making me feel unwelcome because of the colour of my skin. They took my time, my dignity, and my money -- then shut the door on me. It's 2026. Racism has no place in our city and our community. If you're a person of colour, save yourself the disrespect and take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of other laundromats that will treat you with basic human decency. I won't be back, and I hope this business faces consequences until they learn to respect all customers equally.

This is my go-to laundromat! I'm certainly no fan of doing laundry, especially when it's not…read morelocated in my home! But Tommy Suds definitely makes it more agreeable. They've got plenty of washers and driers, including several giant ones good for washing comforters (or all your clothes in one go if you're especially lazy, like me). There's an entire wall of dryers that seem to be more efficient than a lot of other laundromats I've used. The largest washing machines cost $6, I believe, and they decrease in price down to a standard load at $2.00. The dryers are .25 cents per 15 minutes. They have a coin machine on site to swap bills up to $20 for quarters and loonies. One of the best parts of Tommy Suds is all the extras beyond the standard washer/dryer set up. On the one side of the business they have a cafe setup where you can get coffee, tea, pop, juice, muffins, bagels, chips, cookies, and basic sandwiches. It's no gourmet operation, but it's a nice addition to have a snack while you wait for your laundry. There is also FREE! wifi at Tommy Suds, so you can browse your phone or bring along a laptop to do some work if you want. They also have an assortment of magazines and a TV mounted in the corner that generally shows a variety of news, talk shows, or home improvement shows.
