I found myself on the trail on a Sunday morning and crossed paths with plenty of other runners and joggers. It's a well traveled trail-likely because it's in a super convenient place with parking and a restroom nearby. There's also a playground for the kiddos, so it's kind of perfect for everything park-related.

Probably because there are more attractive options that people prefer to visit, but we can be happy that it's quiet. * The "lake" in the center of the park is pretty and home to a variety of wildlife that make for pretty pictures. Cons: * You're right next to the highway, so traffic noise is pretty loud when walking along the path. * The surrounding buildings are less than beautiful, and the juvenile detention center is right there. I never saw any commotion, but it's not really an attractive landmark. * There's a good amount of trash everywhere. Maybe a few more garbage cans along the route might help? Overall, it's *fine* if you are in the area and want to walk along the trail to get your steps in for the day. But if you're hoping for a spectacular park, you may be a little disappointed.

I'd like to ask them if while they were at the park if they saw a single local there? I'd guess not because in the Salt Lake Valley "Decker Lake" means one thing, juvenile detention center. As a kid growing up in the valley kids didn't say they went to juvie, they said they went to Decker Lake (I grew up in a rough neighborhood). The lake is nothing more than a glorified mud pit. I'm sure the only reason it hasn't been paved over is because it is used by migratory birds.

I debated on sharing this spot because it is such a hidden gem and it's not crowded like Liberty…read morepark. However, I think more people need to see the beauty of this park. It is absolutely stunning. You can see from North Salt Lake to almost Eagle Mountain. My favorite time to go is about 30 minutes before sunset just because the views of the sun setting in the west with the city in the foreground...that's a sight to see. There's a walking area that brushes the perimeter of the park as well...or I guess you can run if that's your thing. There's a nice little playground for the kiddos and a paved basketball court as well! When I visit here, I also see people pitch up a hammock...which this is a great spot to do it because there's lots of trees and they're spaced out perfectly for a hammock! There's also a nice little open area for soccer or whatever else you are feeling that day! Parking is super convenient; I've never had an issue with it! You are able to park on the south or north side of the park! I recommend going to the northeast side of the park as that is where you will see arguably the best view in the entire city!

Man, Cottonwood Heights has some nice parks!…read more Let's talk open space: I can't give even close to accurate coordinates, but you could play professional football (or for that matter, futbol), rugby, baseball, and probably the Highland Games on this field..at the same time. This beautiful field is hidden: Past the parking lot, past the tennis court, and past the playground you'll find this big green expanse. If you like views, the park seem snug against the beautiful foothills of the area. All the facilities are great. There's plenty of parking, the tennis court and playground are in excellent condition, and there's a well maintained covered area with picnic tables. I've been to two Cottonwood Heights parks today and, at both, have seen Parks Department folks keeping the place tip-top. Bring on the summer fun!

This has everything I love in a park... bridges, waterfalls, steps, and more. Great place to walk your dogs, have a picnic, or just read a book. I'm definitely going out of my way to walk here again next time I'm in SLC. So pretty, so green, so peaceful. Make a stop then head to Memory Grove afterwards!

You know the kind--instead of the normal bluster and posturing of…read morepre-winter, Mother Nature decides to be generous and allow just a few last breaths of summer to mingle with the fall hues and cooler temps. A day like this deserves to be soaked up and stored in your bones all winter long. Surely the snow will fly at some point and on those bleak days, you can close your eyes and draw upon the reserves squirreled away on autumn days like the one we had when we discovered Kletting Park. A day as ripe as this one deserved a walk, and while we do love the walks in our own neck of the woods, we both thought that walking around the Avenues would be an extra special way to spend the afternoon. So off we went. We parked near the governor's mansion and wound our way along the streets under the few remaining leaves of tree-lined streets, gazing on the variety of homes in this hood. Large manors, decrepit wooden carriage houses, new modern replacements, and old, squatty dwellings. It's a wonderful, historic neighborhood. At some point, we wandered into Richard K A Kletting Park. It's a cute little pocket park, not much more than a bench, a little swatch of grass, and a small playground. But there's also a small sign with information about Kletting, and that actually became a memorable part of our day. Kletting was an architect. Not just any architect, but a prominent and influential early architect in Utah. You've seen his work. The original Salt Palace. Saltair. And his most well-known work, the Utah State Capitol. He also designed many of the houses around the park, and we went looking for them after our quick visit to the park. With Wikipedia in hand, we read about Kletting and looked for his notable works as we finished our walk. What a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon!

We have friends that used to live on C street and while staying with them we walked down to the cathedral of the madalaine. One of the most beautiful historic Catholic Churches I've been in and in Salt Lake City by far! Whether you live near here or just stop by while visiting one of the gorgeous avenues additions, check this place out. Cute place to take pictures and if you have kids they will absolutely love it. Never crowded the few times I have come.

Several mature trees with plenty of shade. There are only two small benches. No tables here so I'm not sure you would come here for a family picnic. I'm not sure you would go out of your way to come here, maybe if you were waiting for someone in one of the businesses near by or if you live in the neighborhood and had small children.

Labrum Memorial Park is a beautiful city park in Taylorsville, just off I-215. The park has a…read moremodern playground, including various obstacles, slides, and swings for children of all ages. It also features a picnic pavilion with several picnic tables and a restroom adjacent. There is a walking path surrounding the park's sizable lawn area, which is 1/2 mile in total distance. The park has fantastic views of the Wasatch Mountains. My boys and I visit regularly and have found that the park is typically clean and well-maintained.
