Dr. Brand is one of the most compassionate Vet I've ever had in my experience of owning animals. I also take dogs to other vets with a rescue and can easily compare the difference. She has taken my dog, Chewie under her wing as he's a senior boy now and she also does acupuncture and holistic as well if you choose. Upon moving to the area I was clueless to a vet. I also have to say my other dog was misdiagnosed at my old vet! Dr. Brand ran complete and conclusive tests and diagnosed him with a collapsed trachea. Absolutely opposite of the other vet who diagnosed him with a liver shunt. Years of unnecessary meds, not to mention THE WRONG ONES! I love Richmond Veterinary Clinic! read more

It took 3 visits to diagnose my dog with ringworms. To add insult to their misdiagnoses they proceeded to charge $90 per 3 month medication. I checked Amazon during the 2nd cycle and it cost $30 per dose. I was upset and I let their new, unexperienced vet know how I felt. Fly forward 15 years and my current boy had been experiencing rashes and scabs. The owner of the richmond vet clinic told me on a phone call that he wouldn't offer care for my sick dog because I "upset" one of his new hires over 15 years ago. If you feel like being ripped off, by all means, frequent this fraud of a veterinarian. Personally, I wouldn't trust them with a garden slug. read more

My first time there, I was a bit nervous. My dog don't like going to the vet. He was a bit scared when at the beginning but he relaxed after a bit. The vet was great, gave me pointers what I should and shouldn't do with my dog. It was very helpful, he showed care for my dog. Since my dog is big and intimidating. They don't care about sick pets. Tried to schedule me for 3 and a half weeks out for my pet who had a medical issue come up last night. I'm understanding that schedules are busy but 3 and a half weeks out? They said I can try calling another time in case they get a cancellation. I asked if they had a waiting list, they said no. Their front desk doesn't seem to ever want to schedule appts when your pet is sick. That is mind blowing to me. I ended up finding another local vet who got my cat in today and found that he did in fact have a UTI that required medications. Check out Lakeview Veterinary. They are caring from the second they answer the phone and do everything they can to help you and your pet. This place is selfish and cares more about a light day at the office than helping pets. read more

Word of warning to new customers. When bringing your animal in...make SURE you make it clear that you want all shots and procedures run by you FIRST before they're done. Also ask for a price breakdown as well. Make them be honest and legit. Brought my two pups in for a new visit and rabies and distemper shots were given to BOTH without my approval first AND without checking their previous records. One of my dogs already had some of her shots. Left with a very hefty bill of over $550 and frankly felt pretty violated. To top it off, the veterinarian I got (a man, don't care to remember his name), was extremely quick on the phone and not thorough with his exams. My search for a decent vet continues.... read more

Dr Brand is amazing! We took our 8 month old German Shepard in cause she couldn't keep food down. Tina was the tech that was working with us and she is truly AMAZING. Got down on the floor with Eva (our pup) even though Eva is very timid. She also gave us a bunch of tips and advice on the breed. Dr. Brand and Tina were very nice and also did an excellent job at explaining everything to us even though we had a ton of questions! Would highly recommend to bring your animals here!!! read more

I brought my dog here after a bad diagnosis from another vet. We saw Dr Brand and not only was her demeanor with my dog wonderful, her care and advice were equally great. And it's not only the vets, it's the receptionist, the assistants - they are all great and friendly. My dog was very ill and I was able to keep him alive and relatively pain free for another 6 months because of this clinic. And when it was time to say good bye to my dear dog, Dr Brand came to my house and put him to sleep where he was comfortable, on our laps, on his couch. And we were able to put him to rest in a place of our choosing. Whenever the time is right for a new dog, we will be back with Dr. Brand. read more

Dr. D is the absolute best with our two chocolate labs (12 & 5). I am so thankful we found her and I trust her completely. She talks in terms I can understand and won't recommend anything that is not necessary. It's the first place our youngest lab would let someone actually trim his nails without issue. I just wanted to post an update to give Dr Fox some credit. He has become my dog's main vet & he is absolutely wonderful! He's thorough with each visit, and checks on previous issues, and never makes you feel like you're being ridiculous for the smallest concern. The technician that works with him is also incredible--very educated and honest with advice. Our cat was treated by other veterinarians for over 8 months for a chronic digestive problem. No one could seem to cure him. Dr. Hourigan was no less than amazing, giving a complete examination, and from the symptoms, diagnosed the problem and properly prescribed the appropriate medications and treatment. When we moved here almost 2 years ago, our main objective was finding a vet for our dog Vegas. Richmond Vet was recommended to us and the first visit with Dr. Fox, I knew we made the right choice. He is very caring, takes his time to explain and put up with this neurotic doggy mom. When Vegas was diagnosed with insulinoma he was very compassionate and I could tell Vegas liked him. We also had the opportunity of meeting with Dr. Brand a few times, and her compassionate manner and knowing what was going on with Vegas, made me feel very comfortable. Our dog was going lame due to sore hips,shoulders and back pain. We brought her to Dr.Pat for the first time when she was 10 years old. We started the acupuncture treatments and the Chinese herbs he recommended. Today our well loved pet is approaching 14 years old and we are forever grateful to everyone at Richmond Veterinary Clinic. We made the move from Wonder Lake Vet! I heard good things about Wonder Lake vet and went their first. Why not everyone loved it. Then I read up on some things... started noticing what people were saying and complaining about and then came to find out that there is a ton of things they never did for my pups and I was out! Transferred to Richmond Vet and NEVER looking back!!! I don't have to feel pressured like they are trying to leave the room, they answer my questions and make sure I understand what I need to BEFORE I leave and don't have any questions before I leave either. They give a detailed description of what was done, and how to treat your pet(s) with the medication or treatments they prescribed, and ultimately gave me the choice to move forward with somethings or not. Based on our change pockets instead of deciding to do it, and then I don't know where my bill came from. They are so close in price anyways and still quit affordable I am never leaving!! We had Doctor Fox. and He was exactly what I am looking for in a vet, one that will go over options if there are too many costs or variables, and doesn't have a problem with explaining not just pros and cons of everything he suggests but the pricing of everything and what can and will fit our budget. They are NOT sweltering HOT inside and our dogs are not ALWAYS panting because they are hot, but because they are excited to be there sick or not. They also have a fan in the room!! LOL. Over all clean and nice. Im glad I made the move and we will forever go to this clinic. The best part as well is it is by appointment!!! no walk ins. No sitting for hours because the place is a walk in. its appointments! The other plus! You can chose to see the same Doctor every time. which we will. No more expecting other veterinarians to read your dogs file... and then don't do it.... Our pets will be able to have a repor with this vet and understanding of the health of them, because they don't have to go to 6 other vets because someone is not in on the day we can walk in. read more
