This is a wonderful veterinary clinic. You can tell that everyone really cares. They're prompt to return any text messages or phone calls and don't make you feel like you're imposing on their time. They also follow up after appointments to see how everything's going with whichever cat I brought in. Other pluses is that staff turnover seems low so that's a sign that the employees are happy whereas some vets always seem to have different staff. I recently switched over from a vet nearby to Good Life Veterinary Care. And I'm so glad I did!! Unfortunately because of Covid 19, they are making anyone with an appointment to call from your car after parking outside the office. A friendly staff will take down all your information and then will come get your fur baby from you at the car and bring them inside to see Dr. Estrick. Once they are inside, Dr Estrick will call you on speaker and will go thru the wellness exam. She was very thorough during the exam with my two dogs. Any questions I had, I mentioned to her and was given an explanation. I did not feel rushed at all. She took her time and made sure the dogs were healthy. Our dogs also had to get vaccines and routine bloodwork to check for heart worm. Pricing is reasonable compared to my old Vet. The staff here are super friendly and welcoming and you can tell Dr. Estrick genuinely loves her job and helping animals. Also, they are prompt when emailing results of bloodwork. I didn't have to call them to ask about the results the next day after waiting all day like my previous Vet. So far, I am very happy with my experience at Good Life Veterinary Care and highly recommend them!! read more

I've never reviewed anything on here before but I absolutely have to now that my dog Roxy Carmichael is gone. I just moved to Gurnee with my dog in April of last year. Roxy Carmichael was a twelve-year-old senior Bugg (Boston terrier/pug mix) I'd had since she was ten weeks old and she was literally my whole world. Roxy's health had taken some frustrating turns during the last couple of years and we had become "frequent flyers" at her previous vet's office. I was nervous because we had been going to the same vet for over a decade and I didn't know what to expect in transferring to a new provider. My nerves were gone within five seconds of our first appointment. Dr. Estrick and her entire staff are some of the kindest, most patient and professional people I have ever met. Roxy and I were regularly at Good Life about twice a month for several months and every single time Roxy was met with butt scratches and treats and so much warmth. She stopped recognizing this time spent as doctor visits and was pretty stoked about all of the attention. Unfortunately last month Roxy's health began to decline very quickly, and Dr. Estrick and her team had to help me make the hardest and most devastating decision of my life: I had to say goodbye to my best friend. I was a mess (and still am tbh), but they never pressured or rushed me or made me feel like an imposition in any way. They currently have Covid protocols in place, but Dr. Estrick allowed me to come into the office so I could be there with Roxy during the procedure. They let me spend as much time as I needed to with her in the room. They brought her cookies and pizza before the procedure. They gave us room to breathe and time to say goodbye. They arranged all of the cremation services so I didn't really have to think about the particulars of anything (because I was a sobbing mess). A week later I returned to pick up her ashes and they had made a ceramic paw print and some paw and nose prints with ink as well. They made a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation in her name. A week later I received a card in the mail with handwritten messages from Dr. Estrick, Olivia, Abigail, Meaghan, Dawn, and Karla. If I could give WAY more than five stars with this review, I would. Dr. Levine is a dream come true and every single one of the staff here is an absolute angel. I absolutely cried when I moved when I realized I would have to give up this office. I have two sphynx brothers who love going here and would happily visit every day if not for the fact that they hate car rides. Don't let the minor prepayment for your new patient appointment scare you off. I like the fact that the office does everything in their power to ensure that appointments are kept so that they don't have to rush when you are scheduled like human doctors do! Beyond that, their fees are very reasonable and they never shamed me for needing a price estimate up front because of my financial situation. As for their treatment of my boys, you would have thought they were royalty! They treated my two little princes so gently and were so doting that they had a great time every single time we went. Even when my tiny heathens were behaving like scoundrels (walking across laptops, demanding treats, being little piggies when they *were* giving treats, etc), Dr. Levine and her team were incredibly patient. I could also text with questions and pictures! In fact, I'll probably keep the latter up after I move ;) Take your pet(s) here. Especially your cats. My wife and I recently moved to Gurnee and chose Good Life based on reviews. We were immediately impressed with Dr. Estrick and her staff. Unfortunately, our 7-year-old pup, Franklin was diagnosed with Lymphoma a couple weeks ago and it escalated quickly. It was going to be several weeks before we could get in with a specialist, but Dr. Estrick was able push for a quick appointment. We ended up opting against chemo based on his prognosis and cost, but her efforts were still appreciated. In the past few weeks, I seemingly had them on the phone every other day, and they always made time for me. Today, we made the difficult decision to end his suffering. Dr. Estrick and her associate, Dawn, were incredibly comforting and compassionate. We are heartbroken, but I can't recommend them enough. Dr. Estrick listened whole-heartedly to my concerns and the lengthy history regarding my dog's chronic illness. In regard to taking care of my pet: people aren't allowed to go in with their pets, and that worried me at first. But Dr. Estrick and her team took such great care of my cat. I was on the phone the whole time and everything was being explained to me. She evaluated my cat thoroughly and gave such great recommendations. We were unhappy with the cleanliness of the vet's office that we had been going to for years, so we decided to take our 5 year old schnoodle to Dr. Estrick at Good Life. The facility was very clean and modern. Dr. Estrick was thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. Her staff was great. I heard about this place on facebook from the Gurnee group and I finally was able to go check it out and to determine if I will be changing vets. I walked in and was greeted with a friendly hello and the cutest little kitten came prancing out, Fred. My cat was of course screaming bloody murder in her carrier and Fred came prancing over to the carrier and did a little baby hiss and rolled over and was just acting like a kitten and my cat instantly calmed down and stopped crying, so thank you Fred!. Couldn't have asked for a better way to walk into a vet. On to pet care. The vet tech (im assuming!?) took my cats history, super friendly and caring. Then the vet Dr. Estrick came in, had a smile on her face and you could tell she was kind and caring. And that's exactly what she was! She didnt rush me out, took her time and made sure I understood. Went over step by step and possibly any future treatments. Starting with just step one. I am picky about who my cats/dogs see and if i feel like im being frowned upon cuz my indoor cats arent up to date on shots or if im not being listened to. Ill find somewhere else, but nope. Not here! Dr. Estrick and staff were professional, kind, gentle, friendly and love the animals. The office and the exam rooms were super clean and kept organized.... I went for the first time a few weeks after opening because I was very frustrated with the high cost at local established vets. The staff here was amazing and worked well with my crazy cat. They have been amazing at helping find a solution to my cats anxiety and have checked up with me a few times. They even had a welcome sign with my kitties name. I felt very welcome.
