Sir, would you like a warm cookie? How about a bottled water? This interaction was the highlight of my long trip. Once inside the room, I had a large, modern bed along with a big bathroom. The shower has nice bath products and the hot water was readily available at 7am. I check out of my room and there was a hot breakfast waiting for me. Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Saratoga Malta, I had a nice overnight stay. The hotel and room were very clean. Again, kudos to the front desk!

They even had free cookies! The room was modern and clean. The set up left little space to walk between one side of the bed and a piece of furniture in order to get to the bathroom. Unfortunately, even though I recognized that it would be a challenge to navigate, I still bashed my shin on the way back to bed from the bathroom in the morning. Also, the bed was not as comfortable one would hope and I woke with many aches and pains. The good news is they had a great pool and hot tub! We used them both at night and in the morning. Very few people were using them and we often had them to ourselves. That helped with both body aches and relaxation! In the morning the breakfast was excellent. They offered a wide variety of food and the attendant was making sure things were filled and tables cleaned. Overall a good experience. I would stay here again.

It's been a long long time since I first rode the Albany bus system. I was barely 16 years old and over here in the US on my own, without my parents' knowledge, traveling around the East Coast. I had just hopped off a Greyhound from Montreal, and I was touring the NY State Capital on foot and by bus. Those were good times. I put myself through a lot of strain and physical exertion to see so much of the country, but it was worth it. I remember it very fondly. My experiences on CDTA then, and since, were mostly positive. Some of the drivers are unfriendly. Some of the routes stop running way too early. And some of the buses are a little old and in need of a facelift. But on the whole it's good, and not too expensive (lasy time I rode it anyway, and before), so a solid 4 from me. I'd rather ride a train, but I C.D.T.A. = Can't Do Trains Anyway.

Way more obnoxious than walking and riding buses. Since I still haven't replaced my car, I guess that was true. People expect a lot from Albany's public transportation, especially those who don't use it regularly. While I take buses multiple times a week, the loudest complaints I hear are from those who take the bus maybe once a year, if that. For an area the size of Albany, CDTA is more than enough. For an area the size of the entire Capital District, it is only adequate That said, CDTA has tried very hard over the past decade to make good improvements. Many of these have been excellent, like expanded routes, shuttles, bike racks, hybrid buses... A few have sucked, like getting rid of transfers and increasing the cost of rides, but those were necessary financial decisions. The only real complaint I have is when they recently decreased service to several areas and merged other routes, effectively making some areas of Albany all but inaccessible to me on weekends. Overall, I think that CDTA does a mostly good job. They run mostly on time and the majority of their drivers are inoffensive, if not friendly and/or polite. They do exactly what they promise - transport large numbers of people over distances too far to walk. That said, how much can you complain or extol when it comes to the only available option in the area?

Only negative was we needed extra bedding & pillows for the pull out sofa and had to call the front desk several times. They appeared to be short staffed with a fully booked hotel, so not necessarily the employees fault but housekeeping should of had the items in the closet to avoid these mishaps.

Their website boasted of offering accommodations for small groups of 15. When I called, I was told that our group was too small for a group rate and even if I had extra attendees because the weekend we chose was a holiday weekend, a group rate would not be available. I then called a popular ski resort in the Catskills, who were less helpful than the resort in Massachusetts. I finally called Willard. The lady I spoke with walked me through the entire registration process for my party. When we arrived, we found very helpful and friendly staff. One staff member even helped me convince my daughter's very reluctant dad to try snowboarding. The staff distributing the rental equipment were equally pleasant and helpful. The snowboarding instructors went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time. They quickly individualized lessons according to how quickly our snowboarders grasped concepts. My group left the mountain, with the hope of returning! Thank you staff of Willard for an amazing time and making my daughter's 16th birthday memorable.

With the comfortable seats, adequate leg room, and free wi-fi, I usually don't mind the delay, but your time might be more important than mine. Still, Amtrak is a convenient, affordable option for those medium-length trips. Regarding this station in particular, it's pretty barebones. There is a small waiting room that will seat maybe six or eight people as well as restrooms for men and women alike. There is no ticket counter or attendant, but since Amtrak has smartphone apps to buy your tickets and then show right on your phone, the frontier-like, unmanned train shack in the wilderness (or just outside Amsterdam city limits) isn't bad. It also offers free parking and has room for maybe a dozen cars. I've never had any trouble leaving my car there while going out of town for a week, but, if I had left it at the Albany-Rensselaer Station, for example, I'd have to spend another $30 to pay for parking, so free parking is a nice plus.

She also automatically provided me and other Rewards members two water bottles. The rooms were renovated, spacious, and clean. Some TV channels like FOX News and ESPN were not working because of the current Direct TV/Disney dispute. Free breakfast is provided only to Residence Inn guests. Courtyard guests must pay a la carte at the restaurant The Bistro, which is located in the hotel lobby, but the food and drink are so expensive that most of my co-workers and I ate at the Starbucks less than a mile away. We went to The Bistro at night for drinks. All drinks were so strong that some of us got inebriated on only one drink. They were not watered down. I had the Cherry Old Fashioned, which the bartender said is the restaurant's most popular cocktail: Bourbon, Bourbon Cherries and muddled fruit. For $12, it was a bargain! There are two seating areas outside, each having a fire pit table. They were the highlight of our stay. We imbibed our cocktails and chatted there. Sitting by the fire was a pleasant way to unwind after a hard day's work. I highly recommend the Courtyard Albany Airport, for business or pleasure.

Much to my shock, a representative responded and gave me a breakdown of their pricing. It was MORE than what Uber would have charged by about $20!! You would think that cabs would offer very competitive pricing since they're in competition with Uber, but no! So I added an extra star because the Representative/Owner? was very friendly.. but I wouldn't recommend them at all if you're looking to travel from Albany and beyond. The idea of paying $50 to go from Cohoes to Troy (I don't care if you're coming from Albany!) is absurd! And Clifton Park? Forget it! The pricing for that is $75 coming from Albany if you're already in Clifton Park and need to get to Clifton Park! I know Uber would charge a much more reasonable price (also because they'd be getting drivers from Clifton Park). Stick to Uber and avoid the cabs. It's a real shame because taxi companies could really do great business if they charged far less than Uber. I remember back before Uber even existed how cheap it was to get around, for the most part. I only started using Uber 3 years ago when I moved up to this area. Prior to that, I could rely on cabs. Not anymore, and at prices like these - never again.
