Bought a hot tub a little over two years ago and recently took the cover off to thoroughly clean. What I found was extreme rusting on the portion the the cover at the edges where they placed metal pieces. Not sure why they would put metal in a place where there is moisture. Anyway, they said it was not part of the manufacturer's warranty....even though I showed how it had failed. read more

Horrible experience waited a while to have it delivered. Was told that it came with a start up. What a joke they dropped it off and said that a service guy would be getting a hold of me. I went in Rich's in Tacoma on Thursday April 24, 2015 to look for a gas grill. I did pick one out and had an order written up to purchase it. They did not have stainless steel in stock so they searched around and found one in Federal Way. They were going to have it shipped down so the salesman would call me the next day (Friday). Note that tariffs were coming into play so purchasing a stock item would have a certain price and be assembled while newer items would have an additional charge. We agreed on the item and the price. He wrote up the order. I did not have a call back the next day so I called them. Eventually I was told that that particular salesman took the day off. By the time he finally returned to work he said that they could not find the unit that was supposedly shipped from Federal Way to Bremerton. Probably the correct interpretation would be that he took the day off, he did not turn it over to anyone else, so it sold was no longer available to me. He said there should be one in Bellevue that he would have shipped down. Hmm. Should. I asked if he did not get that one would they get me one at the agreed upon price (I had it in writing). To my surprise he said, "No". He wanted to charge me $400 more. I told l him I would not acceptant $400 more and that I would not find Rich's service acceptable if he did not. He never called me back with any verification. IF you DON'T want good service and IF you want to always pay the highest price, go to Rich's. I try to support local businesses but I do expect a modicum of effort and service. I gave up and paid the same price through Amazon. I gave them a 2 star simply because they had a decent selection. read more

I say the price because not all of us can just wipe away $60,000 dollars and say oh it's okay. our spa became a problem last August of 2024 with a defective part. We just had it fixed May 2025. excuse after excuse after excuse. We have since taken pictures because of the horrible repair job. I've only owned this spa for a couple of years so my price tag still owed is high and they honestly don't care. Bought a Coast Spa hot tub on April 4, 2024 and it didn't get delivered until May 5, 2024 due to damage done to the tub at the warehouse that needed repairs. Had our set up walk through on June 24, 2024 with Rich's service guy and he was great, answered all our questions and more. Had the service guy out again in July to trouble shoot the tub not heating. He installed a new water pump on August 6, 2024. The tub worked fine until October of 2025 when we noticed the control panel had gone dark. Had the repair man out again to replace the panel and the part he had could not be used because the connecting wires were about 2 - 3 feet too short. He was going to order a new one but found out the part is no longer available. The last contact we had from Rich's was on October 28, 2025 to inform us that the tub was still under warranty. I have called at least two times since then and have not been able to talk to the person in charge of customer service. We have been left in the dark and have reached the point of either asking for a new tub or come and get this one and provide us with a purchase refund. We will not ever buy another item from this store. read more

Troy hooked us up with an amazing egg smoker at an unbeatable off-season price, warranty included. I thought the add was missing a full figure from the price but it was legit. The grill was missing a couple parts but Troy was able to locate them and is shipping them to us. 100% effort on Troy's part and sorry again for picking up the grill you were thinking about buying for yourself! I have always been a satisfied customer with their products having bought several patio items for our home. Regrettably an umbrella broke that is under warranty and I have been unable to get a resolution to repair or replacement. Having never had a service issue before I am highly disappointed in their efforts and will not purchase or recommend purchase to anyone going forward. my mother and I came in during a weekend outing and spoke with a young lady named Katie who was very helpful in discussing our options for refurbishing our older patio furniture. she showed us all the different mesh colors we could choose from. It took over six months for them to come repair a brand-new stove, and when they finally sent someone, the repairman was unprofessional--yelling and cursing throughout the visit. He didn't even fix the issue; he just lit the pellets with a lighter and claimed the stove was fixed before leaving. Worst support ever after buying a hot tub last summer. It took 5 months to get a leak and lights repaired that went out after 3 weeks of use. We were told it would take two weeks for the fix, and didn't here from anyone at the store. We had to follow up several times. They even said they would call every week with updates. They called the first week and never again afterwards. Sadly would never recommend them. read more

My wife and I purchased a Strong Spas hot tub from Richs for the home at the Puyallup fair on 8/31/2024. When we purchased it we explained to the salesman that we were not ready to have it delivered and we were told "no problem, they could store it till we were ready". We poured a foundation and ran the electrical and let Richs know we were ready. The spa was delivered in a timely manner. The cover that was delivered with the tub was terribly bleached on the underside. While hooking up the electric to the tub, I found a hose clamp around one of the gland nuts that hold the jacuzzi Jets in place. I started filling the tub and noticed water coming from under the tub. I contacted Richs for the home and told them about the leak and the hose clamp. They sent a repair tech out around 10/24/2024 to try to fix the leaking suction hose under the tub. They removed the filter and cut the pvc pipe under the tub that was leaking. They tried to replace the section of pipe they cut out, only to find the two pieces did not line up. So, the tech took the pvc apart after gluing it and informed me that he didn't have the parts needed to fix it, cleaned up his mess on the patio and left. I have since talked to Strong Spas and was told by Christopher Kindle at Strong Spas that they would not send out a unit with a leaking suction line, and a Jerry rigged repair on a broken gland nut on one of the jets. After talking with Christopher he asked me to send him pics of all the issues with the tub. I did and two days later, Jon Chapman from Richs for the home sent me an email. He apologized for the inconvenience of the leak and told me that Strong Spas says to try to repair the tub as opposed to replacing it. Then brought up the subject of the cover being bleached, and said that "that cover was a temporary while mine was on back order and that they would get my new one to me when it came in. In all of my discussions with the people at Richs for the home, 1)Cadi Castonguay, 2)Jessica, ( a person that sets up appointments for delivery and service), and 3) Ryan Goggans, head service tech for Richs for the home, and none of them said anything about a temporary cover. It seems that after Jon talked with Strong Spas about my tub and heard about the bleached cover did he tell me about the temporary cover. Absolute worst customer service and response. I ordered and paid for a spa motor replacement 4 1/2 months ago. Have not been able to get them to respond to a single email after eight tries. My daughter and her family purchased a very large hot tub from Rich's at the Puyallup Fair and which was installed at her beach home in Gig Harbor. I have been helping her to get an issue resolved for over two years now, and even after talking with Rich's dozens of times over the past two years and even escalating the issues to management, they have still done NOTHING to resolve this issue. We keep getting promises of follow up and commitment to action, but still nothing has been resolved and no action taken. I don't like providing negative reviews, but I am so disappointed in their efforts that I would never purchase anything from Rich's and could not recommend their products simply because of their incredibly poor service. read more

I hate doing this but I'm at the end of my rope. I purchased an Amantii electric fireplace insert from Rich's in Tacoma in early November 2022. A few weeks later the insert arrived, I picked it up at the store, and paid the remaining balance. Up until I made the final payment everything was fine and the company was quite responsive about when I could expect my order etc. I got the item home a tested it out the day I picked it up to find that one of the LED strips was partly burned out (the LEDs were just dead). I called Rich's the next morning and spoke to Cadi who said "no problem, I'll get the parts department to get you a new LED strip". This was BRAND NEW and only plugged in to test it once. Fast forward to 2024 (yes more than a year after I ordered the item) and we've been using it (we need the heat) but no sign of the part. I've called spoken to Cadi many, many times (I have records of many of the dates but not all) and was always told something like, "no problem, I'll get the parts department on it" and at one point, "don't call back, we'll call you when the part is here". I never got a call back any of the times and when I called most recently I was told, "well it's out of warranty now but I'll see if I can get you the part anyway" (infuriating!!!) and then no calls or part as usual. This has got to be one of the WORST companies I've ever delt with. Do NOT order anything from them. They will help you until they have your money and then they are gone. I'm fed up. Going to report this shady business to the BBB after posting this yelp review. read more

Updated: 11/19/2020 My wife and I had been shopping for a new gas fireplace. Saw an ad for Rich's. Figured we would give them a shot. *Really nice showroom with friendly and polite staff. *The prices where just a bit lower than every where else we went to as well. We found a fireplace we liked, at a price point that was close to our budget. But were still a little unsure. Then the sales rep adds a little info, telling us it would heat a 1500 sq. foot area. (I bite) I say "really, 1500? That's our whole house! PERFECT! Let's do this!" Jump forward in time... Fireplace was installed, up and running. Go through the curing process, which stinks, and test it out just in time for winter. Here's where we discover a little problem. Our living room is about 220 sq.ft, and it got warm 73°, but not near as hot as expected for this unit. Our furnace was still heating the house with the thermostat set at 70°. The two thermostats are 6ft apart around one corner. Call and tell them what's up. The manager (don't remember his name), has me run a test. Run it on high heat, high fan, and monitor the temp. Started at 70°. Climbed to 76° in 90 min. and that's where it stayed. Never went higher, even after another 60 min. like this. Went through the manufacturers manual looking for a trouble shooting guide, or anything else I should check. And saw the specs as stated by the manufacturer. "Heats 120-1600 sq. Ft." Called the manager back and told him what I found out. His response.... "Guess you should have done your research..." I asked for a discount, seems how I feel I was mislead. He said he would look into it and get back to me... A few days ago, I was contacted by a different manager from Rich's, Jon C. He was completely unaware of the situation. But after a few very pleasant discussions with him, he found a way to correct all the problems. Definitely improved my opinion of Rich's. I would not hesitate to shop there again, and gladly send others there as well. Thanks Jon! read more

Having to break an arm practically to get these people to do anything. I ordered outdoor furniture over 2 and a half months ago and barely received HALF of it a few weeks ago. They said they'd bring the rest in a few weeks time and set up my outdoor umbrella then too, it's been over 3 weeks now haven't heard anything. Had my husband set up the umbrella that's been in a box, it's the wrong umbrella. On top of that one of my chairs I ordered is missing a screw and the arm is falling off. I can not believe the lack of customer service and I'm extremely disappointed and will not be going back. UPDATE* two weeks has passed, they contacted us after my review, said they'd drop our stuff off, waited at home for three hours they never came still waiting on the rest of our stuff. Our visit to Riches to look at spas was great, and the best part of it was our low pressure, so kind salesperson Isaibel. I hope I spelled her name right. She was informative & has a wonderful personality, not high pressure at all. We were at other stores one for example Aqua Quip, Federal Way- store manager incredibly high pressure. So much I had to bring it to her attention by saying, you are so high pressure you're a turn off. I reviewed her as well. Rich's is nothing like Aqua Quip. We had to wait 1st due to the area we live, then we still haven't received our orientation, a cover replaced, and a part that was ordered since February. Purchased a gas stove that came from an East Coast supplier. Fondly referred to as a "covid stove" as it had multiple problems not to mention parts took forever to get here. Riches made it right with a great solution and we are now happily settled in with a new LOPI. Had a minor light off problem with that one which required tech. coming out and re-positioning the embers around the back burner. Once he did that, all has been great. Our installer and tech is Ignasio and I can't say enough about him and his wife as installer and Ignasio himself as a tech. Wonderful job that they do. Sonja was our sales rep. out of Tacoma store. She is wonderful to work with and helped make everything right by us for swap out and sent Ignasio right away when we had the minor light off issue. I give Riches 5 stars for making this right and Sonja and Ignasio 10 stars for being so responsive and just all around great people to work with. read more

Update: Okay, so I need to give Rich's some kudos. They read reviews! Shortly, after writing my review, they called me back and solved my problem by bringing in a subcontractor to do the warranty work with only a 1-day wait. The subcontractor was exceptional and really knew the product. I believe Rich's really needs to improve on the availability of their service as you can tell via the reviews; and in these booming economical times, bringing on more service people should be high on their list. The product is the product, its quality is not determined by Rich's; but where Rich's needs to shine is in the service, because when people shell out big bucks they expect to have it working and they don't want to have to wait long periods of time. Would you buy a new car if you had to pay up front and wait two months for delivery? I think not. My advice to Rich's is to focus on providing a great service experience including with initial install. Rich's should even have express install available at a premium. When I buy propane from my propane supplier, it goes on their schedule and they deliver sometime within a week; but if I need it that day because I ran out, they offer a same day surcharge of $100. That's okay. Rich's needs that option on install. If I had the option of having it installed within a couple days as opposed to 2 months, I would have chipped out another $250 for that convenience. Original Review:: We bought a new propane heat stove from them as our sole source of real heat in the house. It was early november. We paid out the ridiculous thousands of dollars for a metal box, another thousand to install it. And then they say the soonest we can get it in is mid-december. Seriously? Ok. That face slap should have had us tearing up the check, but we didn't. And we waiting in our 58 degree house for december install date that they actually tried to cancel on us. Finally, it was installed. And it works okay, not nearly the heat our previous stove pushed, but it is adequate. Today, just two months later, it no longer starts. I called Richs today for warranty service and they tell me their absolute soonest service date is in 10 days! 10 more days of 58 degrees! What ever happened to service? If a company has a ten day wait, you hire more technicians period. read more

I needed a part ASAP for my pellet stove this winter but I wasn't sure on the part number. I knew how to install it but I walked into the store on a whim unprepared. Not only did the knowledgeable sales staff (Sonja and Anna) know EXACTLY what I was talking about and where to look, they also quickly secured me the part directly from the manufacturer and I was on my way. I left confident that I was in good hands. Unlike other companies where I've ordered appliance parts, this part only took a few days to be sent UPS directly to my home at no charge (*cough* I'm looking at you, Sears). read more
