We have purchased several appliances from Albert Lee (Tacoma) but will no longer do so. We recently experienced very poor customer service regarding the installation of a dishwasher. We were told that the dishwasher would be installed for $200 less than their regular amount ($350) in order to meet Costco's overall price. We were informed that if any electrical or plumbing work was needed to meet new code there would be an additional charge, which is reasonable. Installers do not give estimates ahead of time. That, and the fact that I trust the craftsmen I have worked with in the past, led me to hire my own plumber and electrician. Everything was ready and up to code for the installers. When the installers arrived, they said that they would need to charge a $200 fee for a trap tailpiece, which is an $8 part at Home Depot and takes 5 minutes to install. When I balked at that ridiculous price, they said I could install it myself, but that would mean they would have to return later for an additional installation fee. They would have me either way, in other words. Having no real choice, I signed off on the work. It took the man less than 5 minutes to install the $8 part and I paid the $200. I called our salesperson, who was understanding and bumped it up to his manager. She informed me that there must have been a misunderstanding because installation companies often need to return at a later date due to work needing to be done, and there is NEVER an additional fee. She would call the installation company and see what could be done. She left a message on my wife's phone the next day, stating that the installation company said we had signed off on the work so nothing could be done. That was it - no explanation from her - just sorry, but you signed off on it. No further follow-up. Due to the lack of help from the store manager, I wrote up the entire scenerio and sent it to the Albert Lee company onlne (the only place to send comments) and, after several weeks, I have still not heard a word from anyone. I understand that a mistake can be made, but making us feel that we had no option but to pay the $200 fee, when they should have come back later at no additional charge, was "blackmail" in my opinion. MY ADVICE: NEVER allow an appliance company to use their own installation company. You do not know their installers, nor do you know their prices. Have reputable electricians and plumbers of your choice do the work, including installation. They should come out ahead of time to give an estimate of work needed and price to install. NEVER trust installers you do not know. We had planned to purchase a refrigerator next - our fourth appliance from that store. That will not be happening now. Lesson learned. Trick me once, but never again. They are losing future sales for a mere $200. read more

We purchased a dishwasher during their memorial sale. This week, 1 month later, it's leaking. I called spoe to tyrellon Monday said he would call me back and let me know a time. That they would come out. He didn't. I called on Tuesday and spoke to tyrell again and he said they would call on Thursday to let us know, when on Friday they would be out, he didn't Obviously they got our money, and don't want to deal with us anymore. I could reply point by point to Albert Lee's inaccuracies but this isn't a venue for a yelp war. I can only say their response is dishonest- and misleading. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: Albert Lee is stealing my money. They are aware of the state laws regarding refunds but they refuse to comply. They have both my product and what they owe me. They withheld information about a portion of my refund. They acknowledged this and said they an additional check but haven't. What happened: although we had a diagram with measurements a VERY GOOD salesperson UNINTENTIONALLY sold us a unit that was too large for our space. But then the washer began to twist and ruin our clothes. I made dozens of calls to remedy this, without luck. I was referred to upper management and the unit was finally taken back with a condition-that I was BANNED from frequenting their stores again. Why? I asked but got no answer. Knowledgable, honest, efficient and not salesy at all. He even taught my mum how to use their fancy coffee machine! A++. The salesperson Darren was great, but the two installers were not professional at all. Roberto one of the installers was very aggressive and rude; he starts by pulling on the stove top and I try to tell him how to lift the lid and he snaps back that "we are professional and we do this all the time" that being said if that is how he acts maybe Albert Lee needs to retrain their installers on customer relationship. Finally, when Ben and Roberto left, they left the kitchen a mess! Saw dust all over the counter and the floor, we spent an hour cleaning up after them. Wanted to take a look at gas stovetop options. Already g he ad one at Costco picked out, but wanted to see what else was available. Very nice selection. Even had the one from Costco at a better price. In talking with our great salesman about features, we decided on a completely different brand and model at close to the same price. Salesman was great, didn't hover or push. Would pop back once in awhile to answer questions. Very low pressure. Will definitely visit again for other appliances. read more

My wife and I are long-term Albert Lee customers. In November 2024, we purchased 2 GE electric wall ovens, a GE gas cooktop, and a GE Profile counter depth refrigerator, from Albert Lee Tacoma store replacing appliances from our 2008 kitchen remodel. We received excellent customer service from Tylar, who walked us through all our options. The 2 GE wall ovens require more expertise and labor for installation and are hard-wired versus plug-in. We used a contractor on Albert Lee's recommend installer list and the installation process went very well. The installation tech attempted to set the clock on the first oven and discovered the numeric keypad was not functioning properly rendering the oven unusable. The tech noted the issue on his work order, I called Albert Lee, but it was a Friday around 5pm so I left a message for Tylar who returned my call on the following Monday. Tylar explained Customer Service would reach out to GE for approval to replace the Dead-on-Arrival oven and it would take a few days for a response from GE. We had never experienced this situation before with an appliance. I also had some concerns regarding the incurred $300 installation cost per oven for the removal of the old and installation of the new ovens. After a couple of days, I reached out to Susan the store manager for some guidance on this process. Susan did an outstanding job explaining the process and assured me we would not incur any additional costs. The next day GE approved the replacement of the DOA oven, we got it scheduled, and the second installation went just fine. We are very happy the appliances, received excellent customer service to resolve the DOA oven. They made the return/replace process with GE seamless. I highly recommend Albert Lee and give them a 5-Star rating...we are extremely happy with the outcome. read more

Albert Lee sold me a w/d, LG, that both do not work. How rare is that?? Their installer broke the water line installing. He made it squeal. He purposely destroyed something in my home. Now they want me to pay a 25% restocking fee to pick these up, instead of doing the right thing. They are not even 3 weeks old supposingly and they are saying they were not in their warehouse?? I have this feeling, I am their 2nd owners and I am waiting for tech to show up, schedule to tell me what is really wrong with both of them. Agitator don't turn on cycles, it does not clean with cold water, the tub don't turn and soap is left on top of the clothes when cycle Is over. Now that is the washer, the dryer, the light does not work. the normal cycle turns off in 3-5 minutes, if that. And they are black, not gray. Some of their sales people are desperate and that mgr, yah, more desperate to take them give a product in new condition that they sold. They will not get away with it. read more

I'm so bummed at how the experience at Albert Lee was. I spent nearly $20k on new appliances. After spending and picking and scheduling as we get close to the installation date we are told that our induction cooktop is broken and it will take 3 months to replace. Ummmm, why wasn't the thing you sold checked to validate you CAN sell what you are selling? Poor inventory control measures. Next, we ordered and paid for an exhaust. Once install time comes they don't have it and have to gift me a lesser brand. Again, terrible inventory control and probably some ill supply chain deliver going on. And finally we get the installers.... And just wow. They install but there is NO checklist to validate ANYTHING is working. They'll installed and left with my Subzero not making ice or Terrible deliver management. All-in-all you can roll the dice with Albert Lee but you may not get what they sold you and will be forced to receive a lesser product or wait months for the item they already sold you and said they had in stock. I love the no-pressure style of Albert Lee & will always go there for future appliances. Ordered a Dishwasher to be delivered and installed, at the time of purchase sales representative informed me that would be $199.00 charge plus a $20.00 charge. At the time of delivery the delivery person told me that there would be an additional charge of $150.00 because the dishwasher was at a 90 deg corner. I called Albert Lee and asked what's up with the additional charge. They informed me that the additional charge has to be determined at time if install. Asked why I was not informed of this when I purchased the washer he could not fine an answer. I refused the install and accepted the washer and installed it myself. Took 45 minutes and had to spend $20.00 additional for an adapter for the drain line and used the supplied lines and accessories th came with the washer. No way can this justify an additional charge of $150.00. Seems like a scam to me and them trying to get even more money out of the consumer. In my opinion 90 percent of people would have paid the additional charge because they didn't know how to install themselves. Will I make anymore purchases from Albert Lee Appliance, that would be a definite NO. Once you pay for installation no additional charges should be applied afterwards. read more

I deeply regret having trusted Albert Lee Appliance with my dishwasher purchase. The installers lied and tricked me into signing for a machine they had not fully installed. The store claims they have no control over the 3rd party installation outfit THEY HIRED to install the machine. I'm sorry I signed for this machine. I knew I didn't like it when they ran an empty load with it jutting out from the cabinets. Albert Lee won't take it back. They apparently would rather have an unhappy customer. The installers said the cabinet edge needed a slight modification for the machine to fit, to call their cell phone when that was done, and they would come back and finish the job. It's been done and they have been ghosting me for two days now. I wish I had trusted my gut and forced the installers to take it back. Albert Lee has great commercials but does not live up to the service claims! We bough a high end expensive Miele dishwasher from the Tacoma Store. Unfortunately the Dishwasher has experienced problems. We were told how great Albert Lee Service is at the time of the sale. Being naïve, we believed our sales person Nancy. Now that we have trouble we are told that the Miele service people do not go to Tacoma. We have called the store several times with promises of a call back after they research the location of service. They have never called back. The service after the sale in our experience is just an advertising tag line. We can not recommend anyone buy from Albert Lee. They will let you down and they will not be able to provide service! We ordered a stove and a refrigerator that totaled over $20K through Albert Lee. They provided us with the names of three installers for the stove. Only one of the installers serviced the Seattle area and did not return the numerous calls or emails that I sent to set up an appointment. When I finally found an installer on my own, the installer that arrived asked if I had an install kit and I said that I didn't. He said that usually when you drop $10K on a stove, the store throws one in. I called Albert Lee and the man I spoke with made it sound like it was the most ridiculous idea for me to expect them to supply an install kit and stated that they *never* do that. He made it sound like I was expecting the world when really I was expecting a $40 install kit after spending $24,000 with them. I didn't realize that it was such a stretch for them... The only things that are ridiculous are Albert Lee's nonexistent customer service and attitude. Wish I would've gone somewhere else. Don't waste your time or money with these people. In response to Albert Lee: The "reputable" list of installers that you provided wouldn't respond to numerous emails and wouldn't pick up their phones. You made no mention of the terrible customer service that I described in detail. It's all in the tone and your employees need some real guidance on this area. You didn't even offer an apology. In the last few months we've been to this Albert Lee location 3-4 times to browse. We were in the market for a washer/dryer, and a refrigerator. Due to delays caused by Covid we bought a washer and dryer elsewhere but went back for the fridge we had liked. Every single time we were greeted by an employee and helped almost immediately by another. They were not pushy, they showed us different models, even the dented/returned stuff in the back. The buying and delivery process was seamless, they had the fridge in stock so we received it timely and the delivery guys took care of everything, and wore masks. I'd definitely recommend this store and location. read more

You have to be careful with item placement in freezer but with that the ice maker produces ice fast and other than removing and cleaning freezer every month or two the rest of the refrigerator are great. read more

However my issue is still not fixed yet so I'll leave this at 3 stars for how and see what happens. ---- So far I'm not impressed by the customer service at Albert Lee. I bought an exhaust fan from them last year and bought the insurance for the appliance. After having it installed, the exhaust's motor failed within a week. The tech who came to investigate said it's a motor failure, and that the original we bought is a lemon. After waiting for them to order the parts, they now tell me it's on back order with no estimated fix date. I asked Albert Lee to give me a replacement and the customer rep told me that they'll gather documents and send to the manufacturer to see what they'll do. I requested that they give me a call back the next day with an update so that I can stop chasing them. The customer rep responded that they get too many calls to be able to remember to call me back and asked me to call back until i get an answer. I expected better support with the customer service from Albert Lee, especially since I purchased the premium protection thru them. I do not think requesting a call back is too much to ask. Recently purchased a washing machine through this location. Was greeted by a very nice saleman who was willing to explain to us various features of the units we were interested in rather than point out reasons why we shouldn't buy that one while steering us to a more expensive unit like most other stores have done. The entire process was very simple, painless and pleasant. Our scheduled delivery time was a 2 hour window, which is better than the 4 hour window most places give. The delivery team arrived within 10 minutes of the start of our 2 hour window and were very professional, well spoken and courteous. Everything went very well, the unit had no issues and the install was flawless. I'll for sure be coming back here for future appliance needs. read more

I love getting kitchen appliances from Albert Lee. Is it the cheapest place? No. But they know their products, they aren't super pushy, and it's nice to have a point of contact in the odd chance something goes wrong after install. My husband and I have bought a refrigerator, dish washer, standup freezer, clothes washer, and dryer from them over the years. Each time, they answer all of our questions patiently, have never pressured me into the most expensive model, and told me if they thought something wasn't going to work out for my space. They also tell you realistic deliver timelines so you know what to expect. During the pandemic, everything is taking longer, and only certain models are in stock. The day before delivery you receive an email with your timeline, and they call you the day of. I love that not only do they deliver, but they will also haul away your old appliance (if you are replacing one). I've only had one issue in the course of the 5 appliances that have been delivered - dishwasher initially was leaking. I called Customer Service, and they had the delivery guy/installer out the very next day to fix the issue. He was apologetic and corrected everything. Overall, I've had great experiences with Albert Lee and recommend them to everyone. read more

We went into Albert Lee to look at stoves. We left with a new stove, a vent and a new microwave. The salesperson, Elaine was so wonderful. She was very knowledgeable, she took the time to explain all the different type of stoves, she listened to the venting issues I had and showed me all the different types and features of the vents. And after the purchase, she continued to work to find better delivery dates for me and got my stove's delivery bumped up by more than a month!!!. It is so nice to work with a salesperson who really, really knows appliances and is a great listener. We purchased a new GE Profile washer and dryer. We used it a few times and found that when it went to spin the clothes it bounced and banged around, stopped , started filling again and went in to balancing mode, several times. We finally watched it when it was banging around and tried several times to balance the load before it finally spun the water out. When we went in to the Tacoma store, to see about returning them and upgrading to a Speed Queen, Darren told us we had to go home, take pictures of both units, and send them to him. After we did that Darren told us we had to call GE and have them come out to see if they could fix the washer. I then called Eric Mulkin, manager, we got the same run around from him, call GE and have them come check it out. The GE repairman came out, he's ordering a new drum, shocks, springs, etc. and will be back March 1, 2024 to replace the parts on our brand new washer that we can't even use. We cant believe the run around we've gotten on a brand new washer. We have purchase a few appliances from Albert Lee, and this will be the last time we step foot in their business and suggest that anyone thinking about purchasing appliances go somewhere else, their customer service doesn't exist. I dealt with Corey Koch at the Albert Lee Tacoma store and he was beyond helpful. Smart, personable and willing to take the time to go over every product feature I wanted. Worst customer service! Delivery guys refused to install range and just left it for my 79 year old mother to figure out, three days before Thanksgiving. Here's the full story: my motherhad a Viking range that stopped working and decided to switch to an electric range. She went to the Albert Lee at Tacoma Mall and they helped her select one. She mentioned she was switching from gas to electric and they told her at the store that they would not disconnect the gas hose and put a cap on, so she hired someone else to pull out the old range and cap that. When they delivered this Monday (three days before Thanksgiving) the delivery guys refused to wear booties to protect her hardwood floors, refused to put the range in place or even attach the electrical cord to it and just left it in the middle of her kitchen. So on Thanksgiving morning we are here hooking it up for her. Completely terrible customer service and a very stressful experience for a sweet little old lady who just wanted a functioning stove for Thanksgiving. read more

Sales staff were great and extremely helpful. We purchased multiple appliances at the same time. The big problem came in when one of the units, a double wall oven had discoloring on the door. It was delivered in November and upon delivery, I shared the concern. The delivery guys were awesome and tried to buff it out, but agreed it was a manufacture issue. I asked what's next, since I am rejecting the unit. We signed off on the delivery inspection that the unit was damaged. I was told an appliance doctor would be in touch. In December I call, they connect me with the appliance doctor who does not know about the issue and then needs to order the new door. Finally get a call, two months since delivery, that they can schedule a time on a week day, when I work, to install the door, but they can't give me any time frame until the day before. I call the Albert Lee manager and was essentially told that since I accepted the item there is nothing they can do about it and that is their policy, regardless if the unit is untouched and still in the box in came with in my garage where it was delivered. I learned my lesson, regardless of what the Albert Lee staff share, inspect your appliances closely and do not accept anything unless it perfect. Update: I upgraded my rating two stars. I was able to contact the Tacoma branch manager, who was great at listening to the issue. Asked me to share photos of the scratches, followed up quickly with great communication, and really took care of the situation. We recently had to replace our range. Due to Covid shortages, options we limited. Our salesperson, Logan helped show us available options. He answered all our questions and helped set up delivery. All the slots were full for a week. He called the warehouse and found a sooner opening. Yay! He called us later in the day to confirm the delivery and told us we would be on the list for any cancellations. Logan took the time to get back to us on his day off to let us know our range could be delivered before Christmas! Yay! Our range arrived today, on time and works! Everything has been easy with the team at Albert Lee. I called last week to order a new dishwasher. Cliff had a match in stock and the whole order process, which I expected to be a hassle, was over in 10-15 minutes. A receipt and delivery details emailed shortly after. And I saved a couple hundred from what Home Depot was selling it for. They were set to deliver today between 3-5 pm. No one showed or called. When I called their store they were incredibly apologetic, figured out the issue, called me back in 5 minutes to explain issue/solution, and had my dishwasher to our house 20 minutes later. The delivery crew was thoughtful and gentle with appliance and house. Shit happens, but I want to know that when it does -- it will be taken care of. And I was incredibly impressed throughout my buying/delivery process with this crew. read more

I chose Albert Lee to purchase a new dishwasher, thinking they would know their products well since appliances is what they sell and focus on. Elaine, the sales rep was very friendly and informative, and after my inquiry confirmed that everything needed to install the dishwasher came with it. Delivery went well as well, and the gentleman bringing it in reconfirmed that everything needed to install it was there. Well, that's how far the good experience went. Turns out that other than a drain hose, nothing else came with it. After contacting hem, turns out they do not sell the necessary dishwasher parts needed for installation and want you to shell out another $150 to have them install it. This is a joke. How can you claim to be an appliance store and not sell parts needed to install them? At least, be truthful about it upfront, but don't waste my time. I thought going to a smaller store would result in better customer service, and was willing to pay a little more than at Home Depot, but they won't see me again for future appliance purchases. read more
