The installation instructions are straightforward and publicly available: Turn off the breaker, unplug the unit, take a photo of the wiring, swap the panel, and reconnect. That's it. No sealed system work. No refrigerant. No special tools. No advanced labor. Yet the quote reflects nearly $1,700 in markup for a part swap that takes minutes. What's most concerning is that the technician physically showed me the panel during the diagnostic, so I was able to verify exactly what part was needed and how simple the replacement is. This felt far less like a repair estimate and far more like an attempt to take advantage of a homeowner who doesn't know they can order the part themselves. I understand companies need to make money. I do not understand a 7-8x markup on a plug-in component with minimal labor. If you use Appliance ER, make sure you price the part yourself before approving any work. It may save you thousands.

When I splurge for the same dollar amount to have my entire house clean the cleaner makes my WOLF range look better. I've now spent over a week trying to get someone to come and fix the issue. We realized the condition only when took the packaging off, maybe that's their strategy to put the packaging on and leave the appliances before you get to check what is underneath. i went in to metropolitan appliance on memorial day weekend and had done my online research and was…read morepretty certain what i wanted in terms of a replacement slide in stove. jacob a approached me and ended up helping me. we spent over an hour talking about options and discussing standard coil vs induction/glass top. i wasn't going to go that route but jacob is very thorough and not pushy at all; multiple times he stated that his goal was for me to purchase something i felt comfortable with and would be happy to own. i appreciated that. ultimately i decided to go with a frigidaire model that was a drastic improvement on the stove/oven i've lived with for two decades. he took care of the payment paperwork, the scheduling of delivery which had to wait until now and also all the communication between us. he was also kind enough to send a follow up email alerting me to being eligible for a rebate based on the model i had chosen. today, the delivery folks showed up within the stated window and i'll just say that the tracking system clients are sent to know when to expect the delivery is magic! it helped a lot to be prepared and to have cleared the adjacent space but it left no guessing for when they would arrive. jorge and his teammate (sorry, i didn't catch his name) were professional and efficient. they knew how to handle the extrication of the old appliance, how to set up the new one and insure it was level, and they walked me through basic operating instructions. all told (and i haven't yet used the appliance) i have been very happy with the level of service and courteous communication from this business. it makes me want to provide their name to others who are in the appliance market and to use them again when i next need a replacement.
