WORST recommendation ever. Never should have trusted him. Horrible dishwasher that needs to be constantly babied and filter needs to be cleaned. Have to purposely space dishes inside the washer so they can get cleaned and even with spacing them, still have to hand wash some after the cleaning cycle, constantly. Words cannot describe the level of service, follow through, care and attention you'll get at King & Bunny's. Bought my first microwave, a top-of-the-line Litton from them in 1982. Bunny herself sold it to me. I have been a loyal customer ever since. Our 10 year old washer recently died, and instead of repairing, thought it might be time for a new one. The only place we considered buying from was King & Bunny's. Sure enough, they had the perfect replacement, and Brandon really knew his stuff. I needed a new wall oven. King and Bunny had a great selection and I ordered on-line. the website showed a model which had a convection oven. I ordered it and it was installed on time, cleanly and efficiently. However, the oven was not convection. I called and they became aware the website was inaccurate. They replaced the oven immediately with the next highest model which they knew had convection. the upgrade was a more expensive unit, but I was not charged for reinstall or the better oven. "Home of the Whammer Deal!" And they aren't kidding! Really, I don't know why I even bother comparison shopping anymore. Seems like every time I do, King and Bunny's is the lowest priced, quickest availability generally and they offer better delivery options than everyone else! King and Bunny's is a local, family owned business that treats their customers like friends and neighbors - because essentially we are. All of their sales reps have been courteous and professional. If you're really lucky, you'll get to meet King himself, the owner and founder. He's quite a character! You can't help but want to shake his hand or give him a high five! Repeatedly now, the sales team have been extremely patient with our multitude of questions and once even stayed open 30+ minutes past closing time to help us. We had so much to go over; the paperwork, installation requirements, rebates available, etc. They just cared and made the extra effort to help us out. They seem very knowledgeable about their products and don't hesitate to offer helpful suggestions about things like styles, product design versus practical use, installation options, care and maintenance, etc. Don't be fooled by the seemingly small storeroom in the Renton Highlands- King and Bunny's carry lots of appliances and have a big warehouse locally they can deliver from. Over the years we've bought several appliances from King and Bunny's; washer and dryer sets, dish washer, oven and range, etc. Every single time we've looked around but always ended up buying from King and Bunny's. Usually they are at least $50 - $100 lower than everyone else on the appliances we've shopped for, sometimes even more if there's a big sale going on. King and Bunny's carries quality name brands and usually have exactly what we're looking for or they come up with something better at the same price. Consistently their customer service is excellent and makes a solid impression. Our most recent purchase was no exception. We were shopping for a stackable Whirlpool washer and dryer to fit into a hall closet. And we needed it ASAP. The model we wanted was very popular and they were sold out the day we went so they had to special order another unit for us. About a week later, we had the newest model of the Whirlpool stackable unit and the next model up from what we originally priced- Sweet! The new unit has more streamlined controls, that all convenient style washer drum without the center agitator and the pretty glass window on top of the washer. All of which cost at least $100 + $150 more everywhere else. There was no extra charge with King and Bunny's and with the Whammer Deal it was an even better sale. What?!?!? Plus delivery with installation was included. As was removal, haul away and disposal of the old unit. All included. Delivery was quick, efficient and professional. The new washer and dryer work great and we are so happy we went to King and Bunny's again. They just know how to treat customers well and they do it right the first time. My fiancé and I walked into their store last Saturday morning looking for a new refrigerator. We were immediately greeted by a professional salesperson that was extremely knowledgeable about their products (appliances), very friendly and patiently answered all of our questions....And never once did we feel pressured to buy anything. That said, within 30 minutes we had made a purchase for a new refrigerator. As part of the process we also scheduled the home delivery which included moving our current refrigerator out into the garage of our house. Two days later everything was seamlessly done by a courteous, professional delivery crew that took care of everything. I purchased a few appliances from King and Bunnys! 7 years ago we bought a fridge and washer/dryer that have yet to breakdown. Then I recently went to upgrade my kitchen appliances and the experience was yet again amazing. The showroom is small but mighty. The salesman Randy helped me make a decision on my Whirlpool fridge that is amazing. After getting it installed I went back the following week and got 3 more appliances (microwave, dishwasher and range)!!! The installers were fabulous they came in removed all appliances quickly and efficiently. Then swooped in with the new items and installed them without any problems. This review has been too long in coming. I first heard of King & Bunny's from a very trusted coworker of mine whose lived in the south end for all her life. I was faced w/buying a washer and dryer for my new home and all I was finding were front loaders at around $4,000 for a set. I told my Dad for that, I'd wash my clothes in the kitchen sink!!! My coworker told me they never go anywhere for appliances than King and Bunny's. I try to avoid big box stores at ALL costs, so was eager to check out King and Bunny's. I walked in, was warmly greeted, and told to let them know if I had any questions. Into the laundry area I went. Soon Scott Eldredge of King & Bunny's was asking me if what specifics I was looking for - front loading, all the bells & whistles, simple simon, etc. I told him exactly what I wanted - an on and an off switch basically. I don't need or want all the 'extras' and I did NOT want a front-loading washer. I wanted simple to use, durable and reasonably priced. He led me right to a set of Maytags that I ended up buying. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not pushy, and we discussed a few other sets of washer & dryers, but he was right the first time. He listened to what I wanted, led me straight to it, out the door for around $1,000 for the set (keep in mind this was several years prior to this review). A few days later, King & Bunny professionals delivered my set, set them up and they've been running w/o incident for years. Fast forward to December 2022. After 14 years, my Kenmore Elite refrigerator begins to develop ice on the floor of the freezer. I chip it out, but the next day it's back. I know exactly where to go! At King and Bunny's, Jason greeted me. I told him the situation and that I was looking to replace my refrigerator, rather than put $ into a repair. Due to supply chain issues, they couldn't even ORDER what I want.... He listened to the symptoms, diagnosed it and told me where I could find information to fix it myself and how much it would cost to have a professional fix my clogged defrost drain. I asked him if my current refrigerator was worth just keeping once I had the drain corrected. He listened to the make, model and age of it and said, "It's served you well. I'd suggest replacing it once you can to avoid an unfortunate incident later when it goes out completely." He gave me his card, told me when to call him when he thought what I want may be able to be ordered again. I had the clogged defrost drain fixed and called him a few months later as he indicated. They're still not able to be ordered, BUT someone had ordered exactly what I wanted before the manufacturer stopped taking orders. It had finally arrived and that person back out. Jason suggested if I wanted it to jump on it! I did!!! The delivery arrival time was 9-9:15 am on a Friday. At 9:00 my doorbell rang, a very nice gentleman delivered it, set it up, and hauled my old one away. I let King & Bunny's know that my old one was quite clean and working, so if they'd like to keep ahold of it as a loaner if someone needed it to please do. Turns out, they donate working appliances to those in need. That made me happy as I hated to trash a working appliance. I just didn't want an unexpected fail later due to its age. Once again, King & Bunny's comes through w/flying colors. I'm w/my now retired coworker on this one. I won't buy my appliances from anyone else either! Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. We were greeted by Peter. Peter was incredibly nice and most importantly, knowledgeable. They are not pushy. We needed all new appliances for a kitchen remodel and decided to check in with these guys based on seeing a TV commercial about a "whammer deal". What we found was that their prices were indeed reasonable, but it was the product knowledge and great customer service that made us realize we were in the right place. Jason (salesperson) seemed less interested in how fast he could sell us something and more interested in how these appliances would best suit our needs when it came to our kitchen remodel. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer & dryer from King and Bunnys about 15 years ago. Last year the washer died and after some internet research I requested a price quote on the current Duet washer from their website. The quote was competitive with the big box stores, so my wife and I headed to the store. We were given a full demo of the washer and the salesperson answered all of our questions. We became a customer for life when one of the answers began with, "30 years ago when my parents opened this store. . ." Earlier this year we decided to replace our dishwasher as part of our kitchen remodel. Once again the salesperson answered all of our questions, but more importantly explained that the heating element in new dishwashers don't get as hot to save energy. As a result some items, like plastics may not be completely dry. I prefer to support local small business. When the prices are higher than the big box stores then it's much harder. After all, who doesn't like to save a buck? Every time I have purchased from King and Bunnys, the price was the same as Home Depot or Lowes. The level of customer service and product knowledge from King and Bunnys is something that doesn't exist at either of the other places. read more

Well I get a new Kitchenaid dishwasher and within days it's breaks down. I called K & B and said ok, let's see how you do. Rather than call repair they had a new one at my door the next day! And my freezer burned out last summer and in a panic I called them and they had a new freezer to me the same day! Excellent job guys!! read more

Bought top of line kitchen aid oven over 15 months ago. Has never worked correctly. Now completely doesn't work. Manufacture warranty has expired, but I had bought a warranty from A third party thru KitchenAid. However now had to start the repair process over with no parts available because of COVID still no usable oven. King and Bunny's has exchanged for a simpler more reliable oven so I can be back to cooking. I recently purchased a top loading washer and dryer from King and Bunny's and could not be happier. I went to Lowes (no one there to help me), then to Home Depot (woman working the department was treating another customer rudely) and then to King and Bunny's. Should have gone there first. My salesman told me all about top loading washers without the agitator, how to load them (there's a specific way to do it since there's no agitator) and much more about the washer. I felt I got a lot more info than I would have received at Lowes or Home Depot. The delivery guys did a great job removing my old W&D and installing my shiny new ones. The let me have all the time I needed to clean 12 years of crud that had accumulated under the machines. Super happy with them and the whole process. I love my new W&D, no more stink from my old front loading one. They're not the biggest showroom you'll find but they're very knowledgeable and helpful! read more

I totally agree that this is the ONLY place to go for appliances. I shopped around and went to Sears, a Maytag store, and Albert Lee. By far the most friendly and not pushy place was King & Bunny's. I was shopping for a dishwasher and got a very good price for a mid-range Whirlpool that has served me very well. The BF used to install appliances, so I didn't need help with installation. He knew that this was the "home of the whammer deal". I had no idea what he was talking about, but now I do. We like that it's one of the last "mom & pop" independently-owned shops around. We love supporting small businesses. The delivery of the new machine and haul-away of the old 70's version was free. I also got a microwave/oven fan that I wasn't planning on getting when I walked in the door, but Peter quoted a price I couldn't resist. It works great, also. Albert Lee has cheezy sales reps who showed me straight to the top-of-the-line Swedish dishwasher that cost way more than anyone needs to spend. When our dishwasher was going out a few months ago we checked out King & Bunny based on recommendations from a friend. The staff was very informative and helpful in selecting a new dishwasher. Prices seemed very good. They were not pushy. We purchased a KitchenAid. We had problems with the installer - who didn't seem very experienced and took a long time installing it. The screws he put in didn't hold the dishwasher and they came out so it was jumping around in the space. I called King & Bunny to have it reinstalled and it took them quite a few days to get a repair person out to service us. Then they made us wait for over 4 hours and still no one showed up. Finally after calling to yell at them again they finally had someone come over and fix the install for us - which took all of 5 minutes. While the dishwasher itself is great - the buttons are too sensitive and it is pulled out farther than our other dishwasher - so that whenever someone leans against our counter top they start the dishwasher. It also seems to short circuit the breaker and we constantly need to flip the power back on for the thing. I wish we would have gone to a big box retailer - I think we would have gotten better service. I don't think we will go back there again. read more

In 2009 after a really bad experience with Sears over a washer/dryer set my wife and I decided to give K&B a try after not finding what we wanted between Lowe's and HD. The experience was good and the prices were fair. Jump forward 7 years, the washer is wore out and we are shopping again. We had our eye on a Maytag closeout floor model at HD with Consumer Report top reviews. We would have bought it if they would have included the standard free delivery. Nothing doing. No free delivery on closeout - not even at $900... Ok, fair enough. I'm still considering the purchase until the young sales woman was smug to the point of making my otherwise mild mannered wife mad. No. Sale. Stopped into K&B today and they were offering the next Maytag model up - brand new for $50 more with free delivery & haul away! Sold baby!! We picked up a new disposal and the pedestal too. Really great experience and Scott was super fantastic, knowledgeable, and not pushy. I've been done with Sears appliances for 7 years. Won't ever go back. I have bought an oven, range, 2 washers, dryer, and dishwasher from King & Bunny's. When I was a high school culinary teacher, we also bought appliances for our classroom from them. I've always been happy with their service, selection, and price, but my most recent experience has reinforced that I will be a customer for life. Customer service is easy when everything goes smoothly. Companies have an opportunity to show their true colors when there's a problem, and this is a case in point. I bought a dishwasher from King & Bunny's and it leaked, causing significant water damage. It wasn't the fault of King & Bunny's, it was a manufacturer problem. Pete at King & Bunny's went out of his way to be helpful and make sure that I had what was needed to get the water mitigation done, get the claim information from the manufacturer, connect me with a manufacturer rep when I was getting the corporate runaround, and help with the repairs. Through it all, I kept thinking, "I would never get this kind of service from a big box company." As for my other experiences, one of their installers -- Jerry -- has done our installation several times. He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and on-time. We've had delivery service from Randy, who is also professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and on-time. Notice a pattern here? Years ago, I bought a refrigerator through Direct Buy, looking to save a few bucks. There was a problem with it, and who could I turn to? The manufacturer? Do you think they were helpful? NO! When we first moved to the area and built our house, our contractor went through Sears for appliances (I didn't know about King & Bunny's at the time). My gas cooktop never worked correctly, despite 3 service calls, so I finally gave up and just lived with it for 13 years. Never again! A penny wise, a pound foolish...lesson learned! We recently moved to Renton and we needed to get a refrigerator, washer & dryer. I had looked online to see what the prices were at the other nearby stores (Lowe's, Home Depot, Albert Lee, Sears and a couple others), so when I arrived at King & Bunny's I already knew what brand and model I wanted and what I was willing to pay. We were the only customers in the store at first, but a few other people came in after us. Scott was very friendly and helpful -- he showed me a refrigerator that was quite a bit larger than the one I had asked for (but it would still fit in our space) and it was only about $50 more, so we ordered it. I don't feel that he was up-selling us, I think he simply wanted to make us aware of the larger one at a similar price. We looked at the washer & dryer I had in mind and Scott took a few minutes to go online and see what the other stores' best price was -- and he matched the lowest price. Also, and I can't stress this enough -- he gave us free delivery and installation, including the hoses, tubes, clamps and drain hose needed (which would have cost us extra everywhere else). The delivery guys called and said they were running early, so I told them they could come early. They were very careful not to damage anything. When the washer was being installed and they discovered our hot & cold water valves were leaking, they fixed them at no charge. When they plugged in the refrigerator, it didn't work. They figured out that it was actually a faulty outlet and so we rigged up an extension cord nearby so that it would work. I called Scott and got a referral for an electrician - and they referred us to Keithly Electric, who came out and fixed the faulty outlet and some other things that were wrong in the house. I feel that the prices and service we got here were excellent and I will use them again! read more

We purchased a dual fuel range from K&B. We were told by Jason that he deals only with Whirlpool so his selection is limited. He pitched that the positive side of this is that since he deals strictly with Whirlpool, and has a personal Rep he can contact if problems arise, and that he can give excellent customer service if something goes wrong with your appliance. So the trade off is limited selection and higher prices than a big box store for this personalized customer service. We opted to go with Jason. We had a $3,000 range installed, within days the cooling fan for the electronic controls made so much noise we could hear it over the TV and stereo. This is a small fan designed to cool all of the electronic controls, not the oven cooling fan. After baking a loaf of bread the fan runs for 2-3 hours after the oven is turned off. Again, this fan was extremely noisy so we called K&B to request service. At this point we were told they don't service what they sell, they have a company based out of Portland, OR that services the appliances K&B sells. (We live in Covington, WA) We called and scheduled an appointment, they came out, diagnosed the fan was bad. (Appointment times are not convenient for customers who work) They left, ordered the part, came back and installed the new fan, same problem even a bit worse. I called Jason back and we agreed he would replace the entire unit. Second unit was installed and fan made an even louder noise. I called Jason after the second range and third fan and was taken aback by what he said. At first he told me a story about an older woman he had sold an appliance to who "just wasn't used to a new noise in her kitchen because it had been such a long time since she had bought a newer appliance." I repeated to him that this fan can be heard over the TV and stereo in a room 30-40 feet away from the range. At this time Jason said he would give me the toll free number for Whirlpool's Customer Service. He stated: "You as the consumer can get more action out of them than I can as just the retailer." I was dumbfounded by both of his statements. First, I did not appreciate being told I was just "not used to new noises" especially when I told him the noise from the second range is louder than the first and that the service technician had said the first fan was definitely too loud. Second, the customer service we received was nothing I could not have gotten from a big box store since it was all under warranty. The service crew came out and diagnosed the second range fan to also be way too loud. They left, ordered the part and came back. Except when they came back it was a different Technician. When I asked what happened to the other Tech that I requested the new Tech said "We had problems with him." So, this new tech is told he has to re-diagnose this issue AGAIN! After that they decided to install a new fan (The fourth fan altogether.) It took hours to replace this fan due re-diagnosis and to the engineering necessitated that almost the entire range be broke down to replace this fan. Thankfully a Supervisor was sitting outside in his vehicle. He came in to help the younger Tech and gave him a lot of good advice about working on appliances. (My father ran an appliance store when I was younger and I went on repair calls with him and know what good service is.) At the point where he was installing the fan he told the younger tech how he needed to hold the fan to install it without bending the fins - which will make the fan loud again. I feel we were extremely lucky that a seasoned Tech was running the show. If not, my bet is we'd have a fourth noisy fan as the instructions for installing the new fan were not intuitive or easy. Given all work was under warranty our experience with service would not have been any different than had we gone with another retailer who had a larger selection and competitive pricing. The service provider out of Portland would have been the same service company for this brand regardless of where you buy the range. We feel that we were promised great customer service and received as little as possible. Never once did anyone at K&B's call to see if the issue had been resolved or if there was anything they could do to assist us. It took about 16 months of people coming in and out of our home, FOUR fans and two ranges to finally get a range we can use without having to time using it around times we wanted to hear the TV or stereo. The two stars rating was arrived at by figuring a big box store gives average, or three star, service. When someone promises they will do better than a big box store and then fails to do so it drops that retailer one star below a big box store as with the bigger retailer we probably could have gotten a better price, bigger selection and still had the same basic customer service experience. read more

King and Bunny's is a Renton institution. King Parker is a hoot - he happily proclaims as often as he can that King and Bunny's is, "The Little Red Store with the Big Warehouse and home of the Whammer Deal". You can find King sitting in the back of his building at his desk talking local politics, chatting with community members, or doing what he does best - selling appliances The appliances are the highest quality. The prices are really reasonable. I really like that the store itself is smallish - its easy to look around without becoming overwhelmed. The service is really what puts them over the top. The staff are highly trained (most have worked for King for years) and knowledgeable about their products. They also provide expert installation and remove your old stuff. King Parker and his wife Bunny are fixtures the Renton Community. King, the proprietor held a seat on Renton City Council for several years and ran for Mayor in the 2004 election (he lost). Parker also is very involved in the Renton Community Foundation, Communities In Schools of Renton, Renton Rotary, Renton Chamber of Commerce, and Renton Technical College - I'm sure that there is more but you get the idea. read more
