Love this place. It's a dive carry out. It's not fancy. It is fast food with good fries. Great Malts a good hot dog special and excellent gyros. The service is fast and the atmosphere is gyro/ hot dog stand. They have a decent patty melt too. You will like it. They have a second location too it's also on Calumet Ave. It's the same menu and specials. I almost always get the gyro or hot dog special but on occasion have been known to get the atty melt or combo sub. read more

My husband has been begging me to come here with him for a while. Since he no longer works in East Chicago, we decided to finally make the trip to Whiting to eat here. I am so impressed with how absolutely delicious this place this! The gyro meat is so well seasoned in addition to it being a little crispy. I love how huge the portion sizes are too and love the fact this place is a hole in the wall. I would absolutely come again if I make my way out to the Whiting area! Used to go there a few times. My daughter and I went tonight and was very disappointed. The french fries contained a lot of nubs , ask for ice in my drink they didn't put it in $23 just for a gyros special and 2 cheese pitas with fries and a drink. My daughter ordered gyros special to go ask to put the sauce on the side they charged her 83 cents for it because it was in a container. The quality of their food has gone down and also their customer service. Well look somewhere else for my gyros. read more

And when I said something she looked at me like I said something wrong. Customer service and cleanliness is out the window during Covid. Nice, clean, gyro shop. All the locals will send you here... and I have to agree. Best gyro I've ever had. They shave the gyro meat off the rotating slab and then crisp it up on the grill along with the pita. Makes all the difference. The tzatziki sauce is perfectly balanced and the toppings are cut/sliced perfectly. The grilled chicken pita is probably my favorite thing on the menu. I'm not sure what goes into the marinade, and I don't care because it is so good. Definitely something you'll want to try. read more

Food here was typical for these types of establishments. These type of places are all over the place and don't really extinguish from one another. Got a gyro plate with extra meat and was disappointed with the amount they put on the plate. Enough for 2 sandwiches and that it. Other place I used to frequent before I moved to Whiting the same order and you would end up with leftovers for 2 days. Place is ok. This is one of the best places to eat in Whiting. Nothing fancy, just really good food. The prices are great and you get plenty to eat.

Food is ok however owner seems to be there daily and is far from polite to customers. Customer service from staff is good but owners attitude unfortunately makes this place a last option for me. Hope your experience is better than mine. read more

I've lived in Whiting most of my life & have frequented Richway since they used to be across 119th St from the Clark Station. They have a variety of different foods & awesome fries. Their employees have always been friendly & when I walk thru the door & make eye contact, they know whether or not I want to order my usual orders to go. I hope to be going there for another 20yrs!
