I had a great experience at Nicky's Gyros. The gyro sandwich was absolutely delicious, and the tzatziki sauce was fantastic--it really made the sandwich stand out. The service was friendly, fast, and efficient, and the customer service was excellent from start to finish. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. Best Gyros IN THE WORLD. They literally cannot put more meat in this Pita. The pita bread has a durable yet tender taste and feel. They can really hold this sandwich together. Grilled hot. Meet tasty really tasty. And the sauce is perfect. Could use a little more of the sauce but it's just enough. People are great, they'll give you free water if you ask. Always a crowd, which is a good sign. Place is small as is the parking lot. Grew up on this place as I lived a couple of exits north of the Sibley Blvd exit. This is the place where I got introduced to Italian Beef (dipped with sweet peppers and cheese) as a teenager and one of the spots me and the homies hit-up before heading home after the club in the early 20s. Whatever you want, they can hook it up! Gyros, Burgers, Gyroburgers, Italian Sausage, fries, etc....anything the average greasy spoon has! The only issue is their small parking lot. Not sure what has happened to this place, but the quality has really fallen off. Went for lunch a few days ago and typically the gyro is cut nicely into long pieces. This time, it was dry trimmings and the sandwich was just an absolute mess. As for the fries, they were plentiful, but by the time I got down the street to enter the highway, they were already cold. Told one of the employees on my next visit and she was really rude. Walked out without even ordering. Used to be my spot for years, but no more. Sad. read more

Talk about hustle and bustle this place is moving 100 miles an hour at all times. Located just a few miles south of Chicago this place keeps the line moving with precision. During the awkward times Nicky's was only serving carry out. All the tables and chairs were put away but you could still use the bathroom. We did not know this until entering but we had already committed to trying their gyros and was not going to be shut down by lack of seating. With four or five cooks and a cashier packed into a very small space it is hard to believe they can pump out order after order and never miss a beat. The energy in the kitchen was amazing with lots of shouting orders to the cooks and then the cashier shouting the orders to the patrons waiting as they do not take your name or give you have a number. It was awesome. Definitely only something you will get in a big city. The prices were very reasonable, that's probably why there was always a line. The gyro was enormous and had tons of flavor. This gyro rates right up there with some of the best I've had. With a vast menu no one should have an issue finding something to enjoy here. Since there was no seating at the restaurant we went across the street to a bowling alley parking lot to enjoy our meal. That made it taste that much better. read more

I just moved to the area it was late I looked up places near me that are still open for pick up so I came across Nicky's Gyros where I was from there was a Nicky's in Romeoville that was an awesome place to get a comb beef and sausage sandwich with pepper and a side of fries so I order the same thing it was 5 min later I got my order the staff was ok well I got home and took that first bit the sandwich was dry and bland no seasoning the sausage was good that what made me finish the beef not so good the fries were cold was very disappointing read more

Found them late night on a trip home from Chicago and OMG I'm so happy I did. What a gem! Solid, great tasting food, huge portions, nice people, and crowded which is a good sign. You know what's another good sign? They have an intricate system for all the customizations, heavy dip on the beef, hold this, pickles on the side, and they got it every bit right. And my pickles on the side? 4 spears! And I haven't even started on the monster gyro. I got the sandwich which was really a pita plate with a pile of meat. My pictures don't do it justice (ate in the car) but everything hit the spot. and the people were friendly despite being slammed. I was impressed with how fast they got it out!
