DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We were stuck with them for a service company because we have Wolf appliances. Their repairman Kim was rude, whiney, and grumpy each time he came to my home or spoke to me on the phone, for a repair. Spent nearly $1000 and will never use Rick's Appliance ever again. We called to get a second opinion on our washer that's been out for my grandma (who's about to have total knee surgery and can't be driving to a laundromat), they scheduled us a diagnostic appointment next day. Steven came out and was so nice and thorough. 5 stars alone compared to the first repair guy that came out to look at it from a different company. He triple checked everything and showed me everything he did and explained it to me very well. The diagnostic appointment was $93 but considering he prevented us from dumping $ into a different company that didn't even figure out the correct problem, we're not upset. Both the guy on the phone and the guy that came out were so nice and helpful. read more

I would use negative review if I could. Worst experience ever! Don't use them! Where do I even start? It all started with a five minute service call to tell me my washing machine was no longer usable. Not his fault. A week and a half later, after the parts came in, he was able to make it back out. The repair man broke another part. Another part had to be ordered and he would return once the part was in. I was scheduled, for what I was in hoping to be the day I finally get my washing machine back, and I get a call the morning of saying the technician called in sick and it would be yet another week before they could come back out. He was able to return yet again and he broke yet another part. Another week and a half later, after the parts were all ordered and availability to come, he returned. Finally he was able to fix my washing machine. I highly doubt, at this point, his repairs will last. Do not use Rick's appliances! If they try and send Jacob out don't let them! Thankfully this was all covered warranty! read more

We originally had service scheduled on our dryer for it not heating, I even told them I thought it was the heating element. They came out and said they had to order a part and would call to schedule repair once it came in, it took 10 days to get them back out, when the tech came he said he didn't have the right tool to fix it and would have to reschedule, he took all the bolts for my dryer and didn't put it back together before leaving and told me I couldn't turn power back on to it. I was not satisfied with this as I had already waited 2 weeks for the repair to be done. I called and spoke to the GM who I told needed to have someone back out today as it should not be difficult to get the tool (Walmart sells them) and he told me this was my opinion (he was very rude), the tech finally came back out later in the day. I should not have had to wait around all day and be spoken to very rudely by both the GM and the tech over a tool that should've been easy to acquire, the tech should've never gone to another job until he had completed my repair it's very unprofessional. I will find a better company and pay for it next time instead of doing the warranty repair. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! read more

The repair guy was absolutely rude! Had them out to look at my fridge and he couldn't figure out how to remove the control panel so he got frustrated and flung the fridge door putting a huge ding into it! Brand new fridge is still broke and now has a hideous ding in it! I'm not sure why Fridgaire even recommended these people! read more

While they were on time and resolved the problem, the $90 service call charge did not cover the 10 minute solution to the problem that required no parts and no tools other than a screwdriver. That costs another $35. He didn't even have a bucket to catch the water so I had to go get one for him from my garage. Maybe i should have charged him for the bucket. I'm glad it wasn't something serious because I might have had to mortgage my house. Suggest if you have to use them you stop them once they diagnose the issue and then fix it yourself. Better yet, use someone else. read more

The service guy just left my house. He was a complete jerk, rude, talked to me like I was an idiot when I asked a couple of questions. I have UNWILLINGLY had to deal with this company for 20 years, due to the fact that every property management company, including my home warranty company, and major box stores seem to use these guys for outsourced service calls. They usually get it fixed but they are ALL rude and creepy. read more

I will now pay more to go anywhere else besides. In August 2015 we had to have Rick's Appliance come out to repair a Freon leak in our Whirlpool Refrigerator (Model: W10307054A, which I also will never purchase a Whirlpool appliance ever again). Kim came out while I was at work and my wife was home. After several hours of working on the refrigerator he determined there was a Freon leak and he would have to order parts and come back to fix it. Not only was Kim short with my wife, he was condescending and made her feel like an idiot with each question he asked. Feel free to make me feel stupid, but when you make my wife feel dumb, that's where I draw the line. They fixed it, $600+ later, and we moved on with our lives with the understanding we would certainly never use Rick's Appliance again if we ever had to. Fast forward 9 months to May of 2016. Our refrigerator's freezer stops freezing. We call Affordable Appliance in Wichita, who I would recommend to anyone! They were courteous, educated us on all of the questions I had, and were very accommodating. They defrosted our freezer and we thought everything was good. It was for a while anyway. A couple months later we had the same issue of our freezer not freezing so we called them back. When AA came back, they determined there was a Freon leak. They could have repaired our refrigerator but directed us to Whirlpool to get the refrigerator repaired under warranty because it had been less than one year. So I contact Whirlpool and they said they would direct me to the only "authorized repair company" in Wichita, Rick's Appliance. Great... Low and behold they send out a repair person. And guess who it is! Kim! The same condescending jerk who "fixed" our refrigerator a year ago. The worst part of it all? Now Rick's Appliance won't even submit the refrigerator for warranty because they said "you called 3 days after the one year warranty expired." DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHY I CALLED 3 DAYS AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED!? Because your service was so remarkably terrible I swore I would never use you again. Now I'm FORCED to use you again. Over $600 , again. Now this $1,700 refrigerator has had nearly $1,300 put into it in 2.5 years of life. I will absolutely never purchase another Whirlpool product again and I will write another formal complaint to Whirlpool requesting them to drop you as their only "authorized repair" company in Wichita because of your lack of flexibility with your customers and the condescending attitude of your repair technicians. You know what Whirlpool tells me? "We can send you pricing on another Whirlpool refrigerator." Why in the heck would I want another crappy product of yours!? We've put over $1,300 into a $1,700 refrigerator in just 2.5 years. Are you kidding me? Buy another product of yours? Are you delusional? I might consider a free extended warranty from you. But what do you up yourself and do? You send me a letter saying we can purchase an extended warranty for another $600! LOL Are you kidding me!? That's customer service to you people? We manufacture products that break down twice in 2.5 years. But you can buy an extended warranty for a product that isn't going to work. A remarkably awful business plan if you ask me. Very disappointed with Rick's! I contacted Sears on a problem with my fridge. They told me Rick's w/b handling the call. Was told I would be early bird customer. Didn't happen, showed up hours later. But, the biggie was the fridge was Never fixed! All the service man did was talk on the phone trying to find out what to do. His answer? Use a hair dryer to thaw out the unit! That's it! Nothing else was done! Are you kidding me? The problem was far more serious than that. Woke up this morning to the same high level of noise that I have been putting up with for over a week. Called Rick's to advise them its still not working. Their response? We will try and get out there sometime this afternoon. Unbelievable! I have now taken off two days work and lost two days wages, and my fridge is just as bad as it has been for weeks. Cannot recommend this company at all. Contacted Sears and am going with someone else. Should have been fixed right the first time. read more

I wasn't impressed at all. Called for service on a Maytag Epic washer. The problem was clearly not enough water getting into the washer and I had already replaced the hoses and checked the inlet screens. It was clear the technician didn't really have a good knowledge of the washer and also couldn't think logically about the problem. He insisted on ordering a pressure switch when I tried for several minutes to convince him that was not the problem by giving him examples for why that didn't make sense. A full week later, the part arrives, they replace it and the problem still exists. They then replaced the water inlet valve, which is what I had suggested, and that fixed the problem. They charged 75 for the service call, 63 for the part and 100 to install it. I could have ordered the part online for 50 and replaced it myself in about 15 minutes. I should have followed my gut instinct and just done that. I would not use or recommend Rick's for any appliance service. read more
